  2. I really wish Quinn would have went to the 49ers where he could have got better qb coaching but he has a better chance to get game time in Miami.
  3. Vernon Johns said famously, “ when you see a good fight, get in it.” There’s nothing particularly good about arguing with people who are intractable in their positions.

Found a Gatti’s buffet somewhere in FW area for lunch earlier this month. I’m not particularly a fan but we always have to hit up a Gatti’s for the wife every visit.

Mayor Johnston has been going a good job of this. By far.
  6. That's staggering. "Mississippi State is the premier job in college baseball. The tradition, the facilities, the NIL offerings and the fan base are all second to none. Dudy Noble Field is the best environment in the sport, period." lol.
  7. Damn! I just searched Twitter and see it’s allegedly $4 million!!!
  8. I mean I don’t think it’s a conspiracy or anything because who the fuck is helping out OKC? Maybe if it was the lakers. It’s possible it’s about seeding? And maybe it is set up to where some series start off with multiple days off between games but the last 3-4 games are only 1 day off between each game and other series have quicker playing dates to start then more to end? No idea. Just spitballing on how they try to balance it all out.

Also if you don't like the show, or the way it is written, or that it is not pew pew light saber battles, why are you starting, and continuing, to bitch about it in a thread about the show? It is the most Derka-esque "omg look at me!" post I've seen on the TV forum since Derka's Ted Lasso rants. It truly rivals the Helo/rage shit in TLOU thread right now.
  11. Word on the street is he's sober and lives in a condo in Jersey with his mother. Oh, and he's got a podcast.
  12. I mean, nothing you said makes sense and I said it was a long drive, but worth it if you are staying a while - if you are just going for 5 days it's insane, if you are going for 15 it's pretty easy to justify if you are going for 21+ the drive is hardly even a factor. Also it is nowhere even close to comparing the drive to whistler, which is a completely bogus comparison. Crested Butte is nowhere near what it used to be pre-covid and hardly recognizable to the mid 2010s or early 2000s. It's still a cool place, and I lived there for a while, but it's Vail + Aspen type vibes now. I'm not sure what it is you are after, but if you are looking for chill ski resorts you pretty much have to go somewhere not accessible by the front range pass holders and not on the Icon or EPIC pass.
  13. that's me, and it wasn't rehab, it was the psych ward.
  14. You know what's funny about that QB draft board? 2024 was considered a far better QB class, and 11 guys were drafted. 2025? 13 QBs drafted.
  15. You can have your terrible opinion. We can tell you your opinion is terrible. If you don't like that then you don't have to give it or you can just live with us making fun of your shitty opinion. Or you can do your patented triple down and we can pop in the slorch'd gif.
  16. I used to lifeguard at BSP. I'd have to open up a few times at 5 am, even in the winter. If I was 5 minutes late, there would be a line at the entrance of pissed off olds. If I was 15 minutes late, the olds would start climbing the fence. The thought of one of them falling a breaking a hip because I was late was pretty good motivation to get there on time. Anyway, I did a lot of polar plunges during the winter at 5:05 am. Nothing wakes you up and kills that hangover better. When its really cold outside, the water is warmer than the air, and you don't feel the cold until you get out of the water. But yes, I miss BSP more than anything else about not living in Austin any longer. Except perhaps Hamilton's Pool.
  17. I get it. It hit at a time when they were the age most of us were when the OT hit, at least Jedi. But man, the dialogue is just so f'ing bad in all 3 of them. Oldest and I were talking about it and it really shows what happens when George doesn't have someone doing a 2nd or 3rd pass on his scripts. I don't feel there are that many that became SW fans quite the same with the ST. That's my oldest's trilogy and she never asks to rewatch them. She does want to rewatch Rogue One soon since we're watching Andor. She has more of an affinity for Rebels than the ST.
  18. About this border czar: remember when Republicans HATED czars of any kind and feckless Democrats went along with them? https://www.politico.com/story/2009/09/gop-czar-revolt-scores-its-first-win-026781 Republicans and a handful of Democrats have called on the White House to review and suspend its use of czars. “In the wake of these recent revelations, the president should suspend any further appointments of so-called czars until Congress has an opportunity to examine the background and responsibilities of these individuals and to determine the constitutionality of such appointments,” said Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Chairman of the House Republican Conference, who called on Jones to resign. The czar-attacks have begun to catch fire far beyond the Beltway. In town hall meetings across the country this August, questioners slammed the administration’s advisers, claiming that they allowed the White House to wield unchecked power. It’s an argument that’s been fed by Republicans in Congress, who see an opening to attack the credibility of the popular administration. In an Arizona town hall meeting last week, Republican Sen. John McCain joked that Obama, “has more czars than the Romanovs” — a laugh line he frequently uses. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich calls the czars, “administrative chaos.”

You are entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong it is. It’s just strange that you picked the one thing about the series that makes it so goddamn good compared to other Star Wars projects. Meaningful dialogue and plot lines are what make this show so good.

    2025 NCAA Baseball

D1 Chat excerpts. Some comments don't show alot of respect for Texas - nothing new. Do you think 18 or 19 SEC wins is the magic number for a top 8 national seed this year? Also, how many regional hosts do you think the SEC is awarded this year? There will probably be a top-eight seed or two that finishes with 18 or 19 SEC wins, but I'd hesitate to call it a magic number this year. Arkansas, for instance, is currently 14-7 with three very difficult series left. They could go 4-5 down the stretch and get to 18-12 in the league... but then they also would have lost 5 of their last 6 SEC series. They COULD still get a top-eight in that scenario, because their schedule has been very difficult... but they sure as heck wouldn't be a lock. As for hosts, I'm feeling 7 from the SEC. All of Texas's statement series wins (Auburn, LSU, Georgia, A&M) have come in Austin. Will Texas be able to replicate their success against elite opposition on the road in Arkansas? Seems like Dave Van Horn always beats Texas going back to his Nebraska days. It's a good point, you have to wonder what UT's SEC record would look like if those home and road series were reversed -- but ultimately that doesn't matter. Everybody has to play the schedule they draw, and Texas has played its schedule almost flawlessly. That said -- I do like Arkansas at home in that matchup. Running the gauntlet without any blemish is almost impossible... what Texas has done to this point is nothing short of remarkable, but I don't expect them to make it all the way through without a series loss. A question I did not expect would be asked early in the season--does Arkansas have the pitching to make an Omaha run? I get your point, certainly, but let's remember that Arkansas still ranks 12th in the nation in ERA. Everybody has ups and downs, but that's still an extraordinarily talented staff that has mostly performed well. Yes, they absolutely have the pitching firepower to get to Omaha and win it all. It's just about peaking at the right time. minimum Florida needs to do the rest of the way to not sweat on selection monday? and how about jake clemente? Given where Florida is overall record-wise and RPI-wise, I think the Gators are fine with 12 wins, in all honesty, to make the NCAA tournament field. The SEC looks like a league getting 13 tournament bids, and I'm not even sure it will be up for much debate on Selection Monday. I feel pretty confident in Florida getting to 12-13, along with A&M. Thoughts on what Texas A&M needs to do from here to solidify a tournament spot? I think 13 wins probably does it for the Aggies, maybe even 12. The Aggies don't have a ton of meat on the bone in non-conference play, but that Cal Poly series win actually now does look pretty good. No one has played a tougher intra-conference schedule than the Aggies. I would probably want to get to 13 to feel decently well about making the field. Right now, that means sweeping Missouri and not getting swept by LSU and Georgia. That seems more than doable IMO. Other than Texas and LSU (geaux tigers!) who do you trust in the sec to make a deep postseason run? I know Arkansas and Tennessee have slipped in the month of April, but I still trust both of them to make deep runs -- I have too much conviction in their talent levels, and they're both tough to beat at home, and they're both still going to be at home for regionals, at the minimum. Georgia's a weird team but I've still got them in my circle of trust too, despite the disappointing numbers that talented pitching staff has produced. They are a TOTALLY different team at home, and they're definitely going to host a regional, maybe also a super. If they get a top 8, they're going to Omaha, I think. No disrespect towards what Texas has achieved - but it feels like they have so many close wins, so many comebacks... eventually that magic runs out, right? Would they actually be better off losing a series or two before the postseason? It does seem like Texas is due for a stinker at some point, but those guys just keeping stepping up and winning series, so you have to give them a serious amount of credit. Hopefully for the Horns' sake, this isn't the case, but this team kind of reminds me of 2021 Arkansas. That year, the Hogs could not lose a weekend series and had a Volantis-type of arm in Kevin Kopps at the backend of games. Of course, that Arkansas team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament in the Super Regional round. Not saying that will remotely happen to Texas, but there are a lot of parallels between the two teams so far this spring. What’s the more unbelievable stat: Texas at 19-2 in the SEC or Missouri at 0-21? Missouri at 0-21. I don't understand how you can't find some random game that the other team just plays like garbage and you win.
