I didn't listen to Transference very much due to the relatively poor reviews as I didn't want to be disappointed. I think people had lofty expectations after Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, and Britt & Co. decided to throw a curveball with Transference. Listening to it now, I really like the album. This is a fucking jam.

I asked Britt & Jim about the name once -- they claimed (perhaps in hindsight) it was a riff on "Can" and I believe "Wire". Ultimately, I think a band name starts to disassociate from the meaning of the word. I'm not sure many late-era REM and U2 fans understand the back stories.

I don't drink beer anymore, either. But that reel is amazing. Too bad it's a 4/5 weight.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?

A few years ago I pitched a couple of school board members that AISD could solve several problems at once by redeveloping AISD properties and even school campuses to offer housing to teachers, staff, city and county employees, and families with children enrolled in AISD schools. The families would get slightly* below market rate rental housing in 3 and 4 bedroom apartment, row home and courtyard bungalow units. The district would get an infusion of young families with kids AND a recruiting and retention tool, and by offering it to other parts of the public sector AISD would strengthen interagency cooperation and open up other potential sources for financing and land. It also makes transportation more efficient, Austin would get some missing middle housing, etc. Because, you see, AISD’s biggest problem is a mismatch between the places where the schools are (Austin) and the places where young families and teachers can afford to live (suburbs). Anyway, one nonsensically said it seemed like “a cash grab for developers.” The other said “the neighborhood groups will burn me at the stake if I suggested something like this.” *not subsidized or offered through rental assistance, just priced a little cheaper. -

Note to self. Begin every candidate interview with - "Did you participate in J6?" "Yes? Thank you for your time. Not validating your parking pass." -
How did I miss this terrible post? Stellan Skargard has been spectacular throughout this series.

You want to include fruit under vegetables, ok with me. "Fruit" has seed, rest of the plant is non-fruit, but all vege. I wouldn't call a mushroom a plant, although it's a fruit of a fungus, so there's that.

James Simon looks pretty big there standing next to Cooper. -
Gilroy is obsessed with history and revolutions, as said by many of the actors in several interviews, and I have a lot of faith - he started and then brought a lot of arcs to a close last week that were clearly meant to get us to the brink. I think last week's episodes are the last of "normalcy" we see in Andor - I will not be surprised if this week's episodes are Mon Mothma becoming the head of the resistance, because we will only be a few years out from the Battle of Yavin.
