Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
sith_horn replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
Quinn himself has said he didn't really approach the position with the right work ethic the way he should have initially. Strength and conditioning in particular were weak points for him and had he approached that more seriously early on, he might have been more resilient and less prone to injury. I've also always had the impression that he was a bit coddled and unaccustomed to tough standards. True of a lot of kids these days (insert curmudgeon comments here). His drop to late 7th round pick may well be the biggest reality check he's ever experienced. If he takes the right approach and earnestly applies himself addressing his weaknesses, he may yet overcome them and achieve success in the NFL. Not a prediction on my part, but I hope he does. -
Need to look for the small print footnote that says "released into El Salvadorian custody"

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet

Seems I recall one instance where, prior to the "playoffs", prior to the GA debacle, where Quinn was on the mend, still treading gingerly, when he finally took off on an unscripted run, showed surprising quickness and picked up a big first down. He jumped up shaking his fist. I waited the rest of the season to see him do that again, and he never did, especially inside the ten against Ohio State. Ten fucking yards and relatively open path to the end zone when a defender's reaction time is what, a quarter of a second before their brain even registers that he's running... Back to Vince Young against USC. They never had a chance. Give me speed and quickness, i.e., Arch Manning. Some good news (for now)

Ketch and Gerry/Bobby/Nahlin, together at last.
-
So one of Nahlin and Ketchum is about to be tossed out on his ass as they’ll merge sites eventually. Either that, or, and this is quite disturbing, they join forces to become the biggest blowhard, fake insider recruiting board on the planet.

Markets still falling like whoa
Hefeweizen replied to Llano Estacado's topic in Business and Markets
The surge in imports was directly tied to the incoming tariffs. There’s plenty of evidence businesses were advance ordering to the extent possible to offset future cost increases. NX was the biggest driver on the GDP change. The most interesting story I heard on this was on NPR and it was how since the tariffs are in effect, a lot of shipments are being sent to Mexico or other countries for temporary warehousing until some clarity emerges. -

yeah, I had the 2nd and 3rd periods of LA-Edmonton on during my ride back, I was hoping LA could break through but they just seem to have the biggest damn mental block ever when it comes to playing the Oilers in the playoffs. -

None of the above. I want to be 2025-26 Texas and I want to score touchdowns in the Red Zone at a better rate. -

Twelve years or so back an old Italian guy opened an authentic Italian restaurant in my small hometown. The food was really good when it first opened, everything made from scratch, used fresh herbs, ect. Then people complained because they had to order a salad or side salad so they put in a salad bar. The local hicks of course complained about the price and the taste because most of them had never had Italian food that wasn’t Olive Garden or ragu spaghetti. So they pivoted to Sysco crap and it sucked and they closed down a year or two later. He was probably tired of serving crap compared to how he started.

Markets still falling like whoa
Bozo_Casanova replied to Llano Estacado's topic in Business and Markets
I’m not going to put words in your mouth because, but the bolded statement seems poorly reasoned. You seem to have assumed that Trump’s campaign rhetoric was hollow, but producers that rely on imports did no such thing, because the risk was too high, and that’s the major cause of the GDP contraction. The DOGE stuff is and will remain a rounding error. The threat of new taxes and policy uncertainty are inherently anti-growth and I’m surprised you don’t take them into account. In other words. If the incoming president says “I’m going to do tarriffs and deport a bunch of skilled construction labor,” he need not do it for the economy to start contracting. -
2 & 1 in 54 minutes for Elina, whoopin’.

I doubt he didn't say that, but the fact he felt the need to deny it says everything you need to know about where the American public is on this issue.
-
Trump isn't "leading the free world", he isn't even leading a free country
-
Don't like that matchup honestly - but really none of them are ideal. If those were the real brackets I'd put good money on Ole Miss taking the WVU regional.
-
His office has since denied that report
-
While it feels like we're on a non-recoverable course--and almost certainly are--there's still a difference between attempted resistance, and limpdick as it is, and complete acquiesce.

it looked to me like he was devastated. that looked like sad, ugly crying. i don’t think he cries at all if he’s a first or second round pick. that dude was crushed.
