Shannon Terry probably laughs himself silly whenever he hears the word “Yahoo!” And I wonder what the relationship is now between Terry and Burton. The Burton/IT split of 12/23 was bizarre.

It was indeed Cooper, back when it was a backwater. It's incredible how much has changed. My mom taught at Andrews for a few years, driving down from Lubbock every day. That would have been the early seventies if my memory is sound. She ended up at Lubbock-Cooper, so I did too.

the law of averages says it really can't be this bad all year but this lineup is still full of meh. Burger is a disaster, Semien will come around a bit but he still goes through long streaks of shit, nothing you can really say about Joc other than he sucks, and Garcia has always been feast or famine. Young is right though, these guys don't have a sense of focus at the plate. It was nice when Garcia and Seager went apeshit and we won a fucking World Series. I bought a bunch of WS stuff because the likelihood of that happening again is ridiculously small for the Rangers. I will say that Smith, Jung, Wyatt, and Heim are a decent core. I expect our pitching to nosedive as soon as the bats find their first morning cup of coffee. They really need Seager back and doing Seager things.

As others have said, it's far from campus and now the parking situation is pretty shit for bigger games (I haven't tried LBJ parking/shuttle yet). Capacity is limited for the bigger games and post season. The concourse food and shop feel fine to me but the restrooms blow. The food truck set up is fantastic. SEC teams have been complaining about the lack of HRs they are able to hit at DF, this is my favorite feature. I preferred to play on field turf: no bad/funny hops to worry about, easier to slide on than dirt, no maintenance (probably less of a concern with dedicated ground crew but not the case for smaller programs (fuck tarp duty on windy days)), punk ass teams like Kentucky can't whip lines to crowd the plate, etc. The biggest disadvantage I see these days is no legit warning track leading to some full speed wall collisions. They need to come up with a way to make the surface change on the warning track. TL,DR - DF is fine as is but it could be better -
He was ejected from the game against Lamar for arguing a call. The SEC said that suspensions for coach ejections only apply to conference games. It was a tag play that took place between bases. The ump said it wasn't reviewable because it wasn't "in the vicinity of the base", which appears to be the correct call. He got tossed after the next batter hit a three-run homer because he went back out on the field to argue some more. It was the same ump who tossed Kash in our game with them.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
jimmyjazz replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
Quinn always came across as aloof, both on the field and with the media. The only time I recall being surprised at him was the Gruden piece. Whatever you think of Gruden or those interviews, Quinn was a completely different guy -- relaxed, comfortable in his skin, funny. I don't know why we didn't see that guy more, but maybe it's just the difference between one on one and dealing with groups. (I'm no psychologist, I won't diagnose.) -

Aside from the logical explanation of pussy being undefeated since the beginning of time, it could also be a very real possibility that (no CR) she is either a Mossad or KGB agent compromising college football with her mermaid propaganda and the public is too stupid to see it because they’re blaming NIL for everything.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if she started collecting photos and videos of him in, shall we say, compromising positions early in the relationship. Like make him wear the mermaid getup with a ball-gag in place. The leash sure seems short enough to let her, and those will help her should he ever begin to entertain a terrible idea like pulling the plug.

I think he was in disbelief he dropped that far and had been living through an emotional nightmare for several hours on day 3 only for it to finally resolve. I think partially crushed, partially relieved, just a ton of anxiety relief/lots of emotions hitting at once. Pretty understandable IMO. -

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
sith_horn replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
Quinn himself has said he didn't really approach the position with the right work ethic the way he should have initially. Strength and conditioning in particular were weak points for him and had he approached that more seriously early on, he might have been more resilient and less prone to injury. I've also always had the impression that he was a bit coddled and unaccustomed to tough standards. True of a lot of kids these days (insert curmudgeon comments here). His drop to late 7th round pick may well be the biggest reality check he's ever experienced. If he takes the right approach and earnestly applies himself addressing his weaknesses, he may yet overcome them and achieve success in the NFL. Not a prediction on my part, but I hope he does. -

Seems I recall one instance where, prior to the "playoffs", prior to the GA debacle, where Quinn was on the mend, still treading gingerly, when he finally took off on an unscripted run, showed surprising quickness and picked up a big first down. He jumped up shaking his fist. I waited the rest of the season to see him do that again, and he never did, especially inside the ten against Ohio State. Ten fucking yards and relatively open path to the end zone when a defender's reaction time is what, a quarter of a second before their brain even registers that he's running... Back to Vince Young against USC. They never had a chance. Give me speed and quickness, i.e., Arch Manning. -

Ketch and Gerry/Bobby/Nahlin, together at last.

So one of Nahlin and Ketchum is about to be tossed out on his ass as they’ll merge sites eventually. Either that, or, and this is quite disturbing, they join forces to become the biggest blowhard, fake insider recruiting board on the planet.

Markets still falling like whoa
Hefeweizen replied to Llano Estacado's topic in Business and Markets
The surge in imports was directly tied to the incoming tariffs. There’s plenty of evidence businesses were advance ordering to the extent possible to offset future cost increases. NX was the biggest driver on the GDP change. The most interesting story I heard on this was on NPR and it was how since the tariffs are in effect, a lot of shipments are being sent to Mexico or other countries for temporary warehousing until some clarity emerges. -

yeah, I had the 2nd and 3rd periods of LA-Edmonton on during my ride back, I was hoping LA could break through but they just seem to have the biggest damn mental block ever when it comes to playing the Oilers in the playoffs. -
