  3. If SPY breaks 500 again, then so help me God I'm going to YOLO all my cash into broad-market equity index funds like the sensible and dutiful middle-aged Gen X'er that I am. Probably a lot of people in the same boat. What else are we going to do? Hookers and blow? I'm too old for that shit.
  4. Puli is the type of guy to allow his teammate to take a take a penalty in a close game even though Puli is the designated penalty taker. Just doesn’t have a captain mentality not sure how important the captain position is for a NT though.
  5. I spent half a day looking at houses in Atenas "best climate". Atenas is awesome. Ill add the realty company link below. You can get a 1800 sq ft house on an acre in a gated community for $350k. That might seem small but realize you can literally live on your deck because the weather is so nice. You could also add a garage with a man cave for nothing. Most houses come with a splash pool but per the realtor you can have a resort pool put on your acre for about 20k. Min wage is like $2/hr. I was pretty set there and I am still highly considering it. The only issue is it's out there and as long as you are ok with eating at the same 6 or 7 restaurants no issues. Then again you are only 1.5 hours from Jaco and 30 mins from San Jose. I was thinking I'd want more to do but if I keep a house in somewhere like St Pete (Copa flies from TPA to SJO through PTY) I can get my fill of nice restuarants and night life and have CR be my quiet place. If you are part time you'll want a caretaker on your property to keep an eye out while you are out of the country. Just add a small apartment above your man cave and have them live there. Eitehr go with a cook/housekeeper or a landscaper. Something to keep in mind. Liquidity could be an issue so make damn sure thats where you want to buy. I watched houses in Atenas sit on the market for a year. No loans so its all cash. San Ramon is a little bit bigger and Ive seen houses where you can see the pacific from your deck. Also in consideration. https://atenasbestclimate.com/

  16. I’m probably the outside opinion here. I’ve seen too many college teams hold onto their β€œcloser” in 3 game series, only to hardly be used. OSU comes to mind. Maybe LSU this year. If you have injuries, make the adjustments using the best players available. Volantis is worthless on the bench or coming into a game in the 8th when we are down 5 runs. Why not have him start?

  19. How many two sport athletes ever chose baseball as their sport rather than football? Name me some because I can't really think of any high profile potential football players that opted for baseball. I may just be talking out of my ass but seems like football appeals more to the young ego driven athlete. I get that baseball is safer long term, but the immediate sex appeal of playing a high profile role on Saturdays and Sundays trumps the longer road to make it in baseball. You really can't know which sport is more lucrative, because you can only choose one, and go down that path. Bo Jackson notwithstanding.
  20. So I have enjoyed the planting of the flag on the flaws in the Dow as an index, rather than the basic decline of all indexes. In this, the Dow is not unique, it is falling along with all US stock indexes. Does that mean somehow all the indexes are flawed? All I know is betting against the DOW has me up like 60% on my invested capital this year, So a decent quarter for sure by anyone's standards, and the best quarter I have ever had by far and away. Is it because I was betting against a flawed index? Or because I identified flawed policy and bet against that? I think we all know the answer to that one. Wait until the market starts to see the inflation and unemployment numbers that were absolutely the single most likely scenario of Trump's tariff scheme start creeping in. Last week saw the first blip of folks staying on the rolls longer. This week we should see the first signs on inflation creep. And the solution? Press Powell to come in and save the child from his own flawed policies, before any actual data is put forth. As like ANYONE with a brain knows, tariffs are inflationary! But wait... we have been told tariffs are a miracle cure, and they do not cause inflation! So does Powell act on what history has ALWAYS told us regarding tariffs? Or does he believe the unserious claims of the executive branch implementing policy?
