  1. Past hour
  2. Just saw it. My apologies for Mrs. Wood (no pics), who can't separate movies from real life and reacts accordingly. About halfway through the movie, it occurred to me that I was watching an opera. A vampire opera. Good show.
  3. What about 8?
  4. Counterpoint: seeing how easily she will debase herself gives hope to a fella like me.
  5. Don't bother. You're responding to GRU, who's posting a tweet from the same guy who kept predicting Europe would freeze that first winter after the start of the Russian war on Ukraine. GRU loves that guy's Xitter account.
  6. Also reading a hypothesis that something (atmospheric?) affected transmission lines causing voltage oscillations and…systems being very frequency-sensitive, caused multiple resources to trip and go offline, causing its own cascade. Will be interesting to see what will likely be a series of failures. But it is very unlikely that it was a “green energy failure” - as in, resources failed because they were solar or wind.
  7. There was a website called Hockey's Future that used a 10 point scale to rank prospects' potential and had a modifier (A through F) to show how likely the player was the reach that potential. For example, Colin Simmons would have probably been ranked a 10A - probable high end first rounder who is extremely likely to reach his potential - and someone like Michael Terry might be ranked something like a 8.5B or 8.5C - obvious talent and potential to be a very high level player but maybe positional uncertainty and development questions might affect his ability to get there (and please don't crucify me if you're a huge MTIII fan - it's just a hypothetical example). And someone like Javonne Shepherd would have been something like an 8F because, well, many obvious reasons. Just a thought but I think it would be cool to have something like that for CFB recruiting. Or maybe that's just a little too complicated for, ahem, "certain" members of CFB online community (read: SEC fans)
  8. Approx. 30 m8nutes SW of Austin on the Western edge of 78620. Why the "Rage" react? Are you not 8n the Aust8n area? Isn't that part of the "ATX" in "ATX Bronco"?
  9. I wonder if A&M would actually bounce to big12 or big10
  10. From my understanding…and I’ve talked to a lot of folks about this including engineers…the only affected pools were poured with shotcrete. There have been no known cases with gunite.
  11. Sorry you’re dealing with this and hope you’ve found some resolution. Went through the nightmare starting in ‘21 and new pool was finished this time last year. I just saw your one of the DMs I had…do hope you’ve got some light at the end of the tunnel.
  12. now let's all entertain a fun intellectual exercise amd wonder why he might not have done that

  14. fucking exactly they are all scared of something we don't know Probably russian nra republican money i mean whatever I dunno
  15. It should have said, "return video tapes to porn shop". Lulz.
  16. i've only been here about three years, but i think the thing with downtown proper is there doesn't seem to be a huge entertainment/nightlife scene there. some restaurants and bars but definitely not like Austin with lots of nightclubs, live music, people on the streets, etc...more shopping, hotels and such. we go to a couple of restaurants we like down there but it always seems pretty dead at night. having said that, we've never encountered anything overtly sketchy or threatening there. and it is really nice during the holidays with all the lights and such (i love Denver Christmas season... which legitimately lasts until the end of January!) honestly the observable homeless/drug problems were much more obvious in Austin. here... it's mostly Colfax areas that are exciting in that regard...'there's always something going down on Colfax!' 😄 i do think the mayor has done a pretty good job tackling the difficult issues with that, we have actually seen improvement since we've been here. but downtown Denver really seems pretty tame.
  17. I didn't but I'll go looking for it. I don't know if Elko removed it, since X has shot all out of whack, but I found an article that basically says the same thing. https://tamu.rivals.com/news/defense-dominates-as-white-wins-spring-game?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS91cmw_cT1odHRwcyUzQSUyRiUyRnRhbXUucml2YWxzLmNvbSUyRm5ld3MlMkZkZWZlbnNlLWRvbWluYXRlcy1hcy13aGl0ZS13aW5zLXNwcmluZy1nYW1lJnNhPVUmdmVkPTJhaFVLRXdqRTlJWE45XzZNQXhXekMza0dIZFQyTXBFUUZub0VDQ2NRQVEmdXNnPUFPdlZhdzNQbWxVckJNZzZfTFhMRFVPdE95c0k&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAANK_Cnm-nvRCKHADUa1nGceLLRO7rwJ-oyVKCYaQh2r88gIgEqrnGv_AAiZVJbjlFmqFYJkzrBCnRGt-rteQgmZK7TDv9l35Fg7naGkdhByGijJVzHDhGaszGPmNnhFtnUuL7aYs6a1NKGWd-e-x-fbIdo1jzr0erPbffBGKZrwX
  18. At least Harden's vintage "is he drunk/hungover/concussed?" performance happened during a game they were probably losing anyway.
  19. I know I'm being pedantic, but it was actually 28*
  20. Their video shows a backup camera where the speedometer on a normal car goes.
  21. You don’t know what you just did to a lot of us.
  22. banks did in fact nip quinn when it came to which one got drafted first, but it was only by 222 spots. there was also like 20 other guys from that team who got drafted ahead of quinn, but good call.
  23. This a fun account to follow:
  24. use an oven safe skillet. meatballs are pretty standard - ground chicken, an egg, garlic, 1/2 c bread crumbs, fresh parsley, 1/2 t each basil/oregano/red pepper/salt/pepper...and about 1/3-1/2 c finely grated romano, plus a handful of parm for good measure. form balls and brown in skillet with small amount of olive oil, but don't cook all the way...remove from skillet. in same skillet sautée shallot and garlic, one lemon sliced thin and 1/3 c white wine and simmer 2-3 minutes, then add 1 c chicken broth and lemon zest (same lemon lol), simmer another 3 minutes or so, fully deglaze pan...toss meatballs back in then stick the whole skillet in 350* oven for 15 minutes. top with fresh parsley, basil, chives and/or dill (whatever fresh herbs you like) and sprinkle of cheese. i served over rice with steamed broccoli, pasta is obviously good too! 😊
  25. What a horseshit headline. The cascading failures described - talking literally seconds to unfold - do not match up the a “failure of green energy.” The sun didn’t go black in 3.5 seconds. The wind didn’t instantly stop in seconds when it was blowing just fine before. What the story described looks like some massive failure of control systems (in the simplest terms, the systems that get generation onto the grid). And that it happened at multiple places sure raises possibility that it was an attack. Which could have happened to a fossil fuel plant’s interface with the grid as well.
