  1. Past hour
  2. And our stupid as fuck electorate will largely buy it. So fucking frustrating living in a country of morons.
  3. Need better pictures but right now I think I'm #TeamAnna.

    We got Soul?

    Arguably one of the best.
  5. Is there an observer effect on Surly, where we can prevent these derails by calling them out beforehand?
  6. the only correct reply to this is FAFO President Huff & Puff is going to spend a lot of time and effort trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube, and then telling you it was Bidens fault that there was toothpaste around to start with.
  7. More flavor on RPI, from the NCAA website -- SEC has 6 of the top 7 teams:
  8. Wow. I think you know- that is quite a commitment that you have taken on. You didn’t ask for advice, but I’m going to offer some (and it occurs to me, I need to start discussing this with my wife, about my MIL)- You mention not wanting to move her into assisted living, for fear that will accelerate the inevitable decline. I get that. There are different stages of decline, and different levels of assisted living to correspond: Medical help available Regular medical care provided Memory care My recommendation is that you decide now, while she doesn’t need to go into assisted living, at what point she will have to go. If you decide now, while there is no pressure bearing down, it might be easier to act on it later, when needed. And maybe your choice is that she never goes into assisted living. It’s your choice, after all (I assume you have POA). Good luck and God bless.
  9. I think you mean the Guaranteed Touchdown play.
  10. All the Nuggets have to do in the non-Jokic minutes is go like -3 instead of -33.
  11. I mean his name is Moran
  12. If we cancelled, we would have all missed the Winfield show!
  13. He's not a strike thrower. It's just not his thing. It's why he's an 8th inning guy (closer in waiting for someone else) instead of a really good #2 starter like Brent Strom thought he ought to be. Such is life.
  14. The more only thing more predictable than that was the market rallying after throughout the day.
  15. good boy just couldn't take it any longer
  16. Yeah, but we'd be MORE #1 if we had cancelled. One louder...
  17. Love it. 15 runs and not a single HR. I'm certainly not opposed to HR's, just nice to see the full lineup hitting.
  18. If it had been the left eye it could have been saved. But the right is quite incurable. (that might be from Zadig...)
  19. Maybe the baby will teach him to throw more strikes.
  20. A lot of reasons. I think it removes us from our communities and allows us to ignore others in a way that blocks empathy and what not. But I also just want to test my strength of will. I used to say I "don't have an addictive personality." I never got into booze, drugs, gambling, gaming, whatever, in a way that I couldn't just drop it whenever I wanted to. It's clear to me I can't say that any more.
  21. Bohls doesn't know shit.
  22. https://www.businessinsider.com/small-businesses-buying-importing-china-face-bankruptcy-trump-tariff-2025-4 There was a moment, a few years back like 2022-2023, when it felt like every other facebook and YouTube ad was some hocking kind of drop-shipping course. People re-adjusting to the post-pandemic world unable to resist the siren song of "passive income" (mostly a cruel joke being played on the working class) would get taken in by screenshots of checking account balances and a few clicks later they're off to the races. As most of you probably have already figured out, the venn diagram of these con artists, the manosphere, and Trump supporters resembles the sun. Even for the fools who remain in business, these completely self-inflicted tariffs and supply chain disruptions represent a large, unlubed dildo that they definitely deserve.
  23. Kirk Bohls with this report: With the addition of 10 football players out of the transfer portal and probably one or two more on the way, the budget for next season’s Texas roster has grown as well. It currently sits somewhere “between $35 million and $40 million,” which counts the likely revenue-sharing allotment expected to be $20.5 million as well as payouts through the Texas One Fund, a connected source tells the Houston Chronicle. This also figures to be a one-time exorbitant expense because athletic director Chris Del Conte and others have said the school plans to phase out its collective in favor of the revenue-sharing via the House settlement and with the move to name, image and likeness payouts through corporations. “It’s just unsustainable,” the source said of the high payouts. “The next season after this year, the whole world will be back to reality.” The source declined to reveal how many Longhorn players will command at least a $1 million salary because such transparency foments comparative discussions and locker-room chaos. … Head coach Steve Sarkisian applauded quarterback Quinn Ewers for not taking money from the Texas One Fund although the Texas source said he got some but was paid the bulk of his money by corporations “so Texas could have more good players around him.” … Quarterback Arch Manning is “by far the highest-paid Texas player,” as expected, but doesn’t take a dime from the school. He and his family acquired all his deals on their own “with no help from the school.” Texas Longhorns will spend between $35-40 million on football roster
