  • Almost as unceremonious as his past 2 victories to finish off the season, Tom "the turtle" Herman has been removed as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns.

We don't really wish you anything, but to get the hell out of here Tom.

I just want to know how Bijan feels about the hire. Please don't enter the portal, if he does it's officially a disaster.

Eltife/Hartzell hooked their wagons to Sark. Del Conte was a passenger.

Tom was an asshole. Not just in his pressers. I had a player as an intern his first year. Dude had to hold his breath when we talked about Herman.

I will also take the guy who has been with Saban watching how the most elite program works...and helping it.

Now, let’s see what happens on the field...but I’m on board right now.

And Hermann didn't coach under Urban Meyer?  Man y'all are reaching.

Whoever the new HC is, if we kept Herman all this time, we better be announcing him today so he can immediately talk to the players and try to keep attrition to a minimum. If it’s Sark then I guess he’s ditching Bama before the title game like Kiffin did. It doesn’t make much sense to me. If we’ve kept Herman this long then why not wait another week until Sark wins a title as Bama’s OC and then announce the hiring/firing? What difference does a week make at this point?

It might be because Herman already has accepted another job.

I’m relieved it’s not Kelly but disappointed it’s not Meyer.

I wonder if he’s getting pressure from BMD’s to keep some of the current staff (Ash and some of his assistants, Carrington).

He’s talking about the 22 class, not the 21 class, and Sark is a lights out recruiter. That’s the most guaranteed thing about him.  He will absolutely save the 22 class compared to keeping Herman.

Which coach do we hire to go from 7-3 to 10-0 and win a few conference championships?

Anyone short of Urban was going to feel like a disappointment. Urban was the home run hire, with Sark it will depend entirely on the staff he can put together before we can see how excited we should get

This is true. Your administration selling out to the whims of rich assholes leads you to this. You need real leadership hiring a real coach and letting him have the proper time to do his job.

Right now you're a 3rd tier program. 3 teams are tier 1, a few tier 2, and you and a bunch of others tier 3. Top players mostly don't want to do tier 3. Unless you start using that money you supposedly have and start paying them off.

Sarkisian, after being under Saban for a couple of years, probably has learned the kind of work ethic necessary to field great teams. He should be far more knowledgeable about both offense and defense than Herman. He and Alabama could easily be the next Nat'l Champ.

If we couldn't get Meyer, he's a solid second choice. Far better than Kelly and the offensive shit show he gave us yesterday.

Maybe, but I would think Herman’s agent would leak that’s he’s leaving for a different job rather than it being widely reported Herman’s fired. Either way, if it was Sark, I would’ve hoped we’d wait a week so he could come in immediately as Herman is let go but also be coming off a title win.

Do you even fucking watch college football? Have we seen what Sark has done with Alabama’s offense compared to Saban’s earlier teams. Their offense is so much more explosive than the McElroy, McCarron era teams. The plays he has designed and called will kill at Texas. We have the head coaching and offensive mind firepower to match Riley and OU. Offensive recruits are going to cream their pants wanting to be the next Tua, Devonta or Najee. After Urban, thus us the best hire that could have been made. Team Cutty Sark here.

maybe the most special post of the new year so far...

all you need now, are about 20 5-star players...Eagles = Devonta Smith and so on.  Lulz

    • Figured it was time to take a look at why we are struggling running vs Georgia. There are many reasons. Sometimes we just aren't physical enough and don't block through the whistle. We turn guys loose too early allowing them to get back in the play. Sometimes the bunch sets don't help as they bring too many defenders close to the ball that wouldn't otherwise be there. However, most of the time it's just simply players losing 1v1 battles or just missing their assignment not Georgia stacking the box to take away the run like SOME posters like to believe.

Below we are running our signature OZ. GEORGIA IS IN NICKEL DESPITE US HAVING TWO TIGHT ENDS ON THE FIELD(12 personnel). This is where Sarkisian's stubbornness is bare ass naked for all to see. We should spread Georgia out an run on them like other teams do. But no we make the distance shorter for them to get to the LOZ. Some of you have heard me say you cannot beat Georgia by playing in a phone booth. This play is an example of that. At the snap Juan Davis(81) come across the formation to cut off backside pursuit freeing Helm up to climb to the backside LB. The line is dancing to left. Majors climbs to the second level to find work. That would make for a nice hole but Conner gets whipped immediately and Wisner has to move on. The edge would've looked pretty good but Golden runs right past the nickel. Wisner sees it, cuts it up, and just tries to get what he can.

      “Culture + Talent = Dangerous”

This school has always had the talent part down. Anyone who’s ever been to Austin understands why talented people kind of naturally want to be here. But now that we have a culture to match it, I mean, that’s just really, really bad news for every other team in the nation.

We are back to where we belong. Playing for all the marbles.

      The Blueprint is there.

      Now it’s time to execute.

Go out there and get one for your brother.

      Sincerely,

      CJ
