  7. This probably isn't the right thread for this and don't get me wrong, I'm bullish on this thing overall. But the cake was supposed to be baked last year. Connor Williams anchoring an offensive line with Buechelle having a year under his belt and Tom Herman's fingerprints all over that offense. And then Maryland happened and then the injuries happened and then the fourth quarter meltdowns happened and on and on. The only point I'm making is that I'm tempering my expectations. I'm not going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe again. (preemptive: your mom fell for the banana in the tailpipe last night.)

  8. Because he didn't. That's what's so stupid about this whole gotdamn thing. The simple fact, that the jury and Kevin couldn't understand, is that "Shaggy" was not the website itself. It was the members. And we're a bunch of assholes. Really damn loyal assholes.

  14. All you former shagsters that were always trying to figure out how to get out of jury duty caused this. These kinds of injustices are a direct result of your lack of civic duty. I hope you're happy.

  15. I think there was a lack of realization that Shaggy was a collection of ~500-1,000 friends and acquaintances that generated content that occasionally garnered national attention, but was mostly an excuse to hide from wives, kids, and work and occasionally get together to eat, drink, and play casual sports. If the site generated positive cash flow off of that, great, but positive cash flow wasn't the main goal of Shaggy.

  17. I’ll play along. I found this statement in the article interesting: Is there any more exclusory cultural/ethnic club than the current GOP? It’s primary aims seem to be to protect the interests of the upper economic strata, to preserve an eroding old order that strongly favors a single class of citizens and to erect a Christian theocracy. You can be black and in it, but only if you stay politely quiet about police brutality, ignore the measures put in place to deter people of your race from voting and can put up with white supremacists sieg heiling the leader of the party. You can be brown and in it, but only if you support building a wall between America and Mexico, can accept being ignored during a natural disaster and can stomach the party’s support of criminals like Joe Arpaio that illegaly abuse their power to harm people of your ethnicity. You can be a woman in the GOP, but only if you accept a lower wage scale than men, limited opportunities provided by a 1950’s view towards gender and applaud the leadership of a man that views you as the life support system for a pussy. You can be LGBTQADGJCHJ in it, but only if you accept that you are a sinner, condemned to hell unless you repent or are at least willing to suppress yourself to the degree that you can present a facade of heterosexual conformity. You can be poor-to-middle-class and be a part of the GOP, but only if you are content with the crumbs from the table where corporations feast, can stomache the dismantling of the only education you can afford for your children and are too stupid to see that the 1%ers protected by the party are the strategic decision makers that have chosen to outsource/automate away your jobs or source goods/materials from foreign companies. You can be a non-Christian in the GOP, but only if you are against abortion, accept the legislation of scripture and the systemic erosion of science and empiricism whenever it disagrees with the Bible. The non-acceptance of intolerance is not intolerance. It’s taking a stand against intolerance. The current GOP promotes policies and pursues laws that are discriminatory, racist, sexist, bigoted, xenophobic, theocratic and otherwise harmful to those that are not wealthy Christian white males. It provides a haven for people that are not tolerant of others, normalizes their beliefs and gives them enough collective weight to shape our society to their liking. So, I say fuck the current GOP and their supporters. Your ideology as demonstrated by the actions of your leaders currently holding the reigns of power reflect the worst examples of intolerance our society has to offer. Your intent is to build an America that is vile and abhorrent. It is my sincerest hope that the current Republican Party will be burned to the ground and replaced with a conservative party rooted in the ideals of self-sufficiency, limited government, fiscal responsibility, societal well-being and religious disinterest. If those opinions make me intolerant in your eyes, fuck off, I don’t care. Go to your safe space and jerk off while reading Trump’s Twitter stream or the Hillary will never be President thread.

  20. Went to a buddy's place in Jackson Hole over the weekend for a last minute spring ski trip. His place sits on a little creek that flows into the Snake River called Fish Creek. We had a little time to kill Sunday afternoon so I went rummaging through his barn and found some waders, a TFO NXT Combo, and a fly box filled of a hodge-podge of flies. Tied on a big stone fly nymph and a zebra midge dropper and decided to head out and make a few casts. Caught this 18.5" cutter on the stone fly nymph on 4th cast.

  22. Kevin Morgan and his douchebag Harvard lawyer can't do jack shit. As others have pointed out, all Bob did was post truthful information about the change in shaggy ownership and formation of new site, which would be owned by somebody else. The exodus from shaggy and the utter shitshow that's been left behind is completely the product of voluntarily market choice. If Kevin Morgan is really going to try and make a go of running shaggy, he'll quickly realize that even in this world of somewhat impersonal e-commerce, personal loyalty can still be a pretty fucking big deal. Shaggy was a unique internet community for Longhorn fans that was Bob's creation, and was so significant for so many of us that when Bob left, so did we. Kevin Morgan might as well try to buy Franklin BBQ and smoke a brisket himself.

  27. A mother-fucking win. We almost beat them with a true freshman QB in his first start and after losing our best OL on an already shitty unit that should be improved from shitty to possibly mediocre in 2018. USC will be breaking in a new QB and Orlando's defense will pick up where it left off. Fuck this good showing shit.

  29. Here’s The HG method so we don’t lose it: The very first roll for a given shooter is called the "come out" roll. If the come out is a 7 or 11, those betting on the Pass Line win. If it's a 2, 3, or 12, those betting on the Pass Line lose. If the come out is anything other than those numbers (i.e., it's 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10), that number becomes the point. Then the shooter proceeds to keep rolling until he rolls either a 7 or the point again. To bet the HG way, ignore the come out roll. Just stand there and let that roll happen. Most people will be betting on it, but no one will look at you funny for not doing so. Once a point is established, the dealer will put a marker that says "ON" next to that number and you can start betting. Start off by putting a Place bet on the three inside numbers that are not the point (the inside numbers are 5, 6, 8, and 9 because they are "inside" the 4 and 10 on the layout). A Place bet is a bet that a certain number will be rolled BEFORE a 7 is rolled. Because of the odds, the dealers will want you to bet in increments of $6 on the 6 and 8, and $5 on everything else (assuming a $5 minimum table). Don't worry, they'll help you keep the math straight. So if the point is a 5, you'll place a minimum bet on each of the 6, 8, and 9. If the point is a 6, you'll bet the 5-8-9. And so on. If the point is either a 4 or a 10, bet the three inside numbers closest to the point. For example, bet on 5-6-8 if the point is 4. Depending on what the point is exactly, you're going to be putting down a total of either $16 (if point is 6 or 8) or $17 (if point is anything else) on the three numbers. Hence, this bet is called "16 inside" or "17 inside". Note, if the point is 4 or 10, you'll have to specify what numbers you want when you say "17 inside" because there are 4 available numbers but you're only putting down enough money for three bets. Otherwise, you can put down your money and say 16 or 17 inside and the dealer will know what to do. After everyone makes their bets, the shooter will roll some more. Collect the first two hits on your bets ("collect" meaning, take that money off the table when you get paid out and put it in your pocket). These first two hits will pay you back a total of $14, so you'll be almost even on your initial $16 or $17 bet. Then you start pressing the bets when they hit instead of collecting them. Follow the schedule below. Betting schedule: 5/9 - 5-15-35 (full collect) - 85-100-150 - 350 (full) - 500 and so on. 6/8 - 6-12-30 (full collect) - 60 (full) - 120 - 300 (full) - 600 and so on. Here's an example. Come out roll is a 9. You put down $17 on the table and say "17 inside" to the dealer. He will arrange your bets accordingly on the 5-6-8. Next roll is a 5. He'll put down $7 in front of you to pay off your bet on the 5. Put that $7 in your pocket. Next roll is an 8. Same thing, he'll put down $7, put it in your pocket (or your rack, whatever). Those are your initial collects to get you back close to even. Next roll is another 8. Dealer will begin to put down $7 again, but instead of picking it up, you say to him "make it 12". That's you letting him know you want to press your bet on the 8 to $12 (following the schedule above). He'll add $6 to your bet on the 8 to make it a total of $12 and give you the extra dollar (which you can pick up and put in your rack). If you get up to $30 or $35 on one of the numbers, and it hits, then you collect again. So if you have $30 on the 6, and it hits, you'll get $35 which you pick up and put in your pocket. Next time the 6 hits then keep on pressing (up to $60). When the shooter rolls a 7 the table clears and you start all over for the next shooter. Your maximum exposure for any given shooter should be $16 or $17 if you're doing it right. Tell the dealer this: "Same bet" - leave your original wager on the table and collect winnings. "Take it Down" - collect winnings and original bet "Press it up a unit" - dealer will add $5, $10 or whatever level of minimum bet table you are playing and give you remaining proceeds.

  32. Goddamn this thread to hell. The one fucking thread that needed to die in a fiery crash at the old place. This is like moving to new house and deciding that you have to bring that nasty ass couch that you had from college with cigarette burns and cum stains all over it with you. Give that shit to Goodwill or put it out on the curb. I don't think I ever negged anybody but Bedoin on the Shag, but me and my 50 post micro epeen is frowny facing the shit out of anybody who puts a serious post in this bullshit. This thing needs to be crowdsourced.

  33. There are a lot of violent pieces of shit in the world but it's compounded by football players usually having some natural aggressive tendencies + physical strength + possibly ingrained narcissism from being placed on a pedestal most of their lives + whatever issues they may have faced growing up. Add to that the fact that their crimes tend to generate a lot of publicity and there you have it.
