  4. Mack is proof that you can be the right guy at the right time and still go on to be the wrong guy at the wrong time. Tim Brewster's tone deaf Twitter campaign at aggy is further proof; Mack (via Brewster) brought us Vince and a national championship. Also brought the program to its knees post-Darius. One hell of a salesman, but also one hell of a bitchass.

  6. I drive for Uber some weekends. Drove last night and gave Carter a ride from west campus to 6th. From the way he was talking, I would not peg him as a transfer candidate at all. I asked him if he was gonna take the starting job this year, he said it's already done and gave me the shhh. Also had Burt and Kirk Johnson in my car last weekend. Couldn't get a lot of info out of them, but Burt did say they don't expect Herman to be calling plays this season and that Herman has lightened up quite a bit this year compared to last. Johnson said he is healthy now and he expects to have a better season than Foreman did in his last year and that he plans on getting drafted after this season. He's got the confidence thing going for him at least.

  8. I hope I am mistaken, but it appears that the 4 major network affiliates in North Texas have dumbed down the weather product on their websites such that it is no longer possible to manipulate a personal radar view that allows for the overlay of rotation data. On top of this when there is an actual hook echo forming all 4 stations behave like total dipshits and softpedal their weather segment when it is clear to any seasoned observer that within 15 minutes they are going to be on red alert. Absolute fucktards. All of them. Delkus is the worst. WFAA actually has a really good directional velocity view that has REAL FUCKING DATA on the location and direction of travel of meso-rotation. But they only show it for a split second while Delkus is talking about locations MILES AWAY from the critical zone that no more than a mile in a diameter, and they have the ability to pin it down to a few hundred yards. WFAA used to have the VIPIR product from Baron Services (Huntsville AL), which produces a 3D view of NEXRAD data, and enables precise realtime measurement of conditions street to street. BUT NOOOOOOOOOO, BELO had to kill it because it was too accurate. In 2007 Baron won a contract with L-3 to upgrade the 171 NEXRAD radars owned NWS, DoD and FAA resulting in 100% coverage of dual-polarization capability for the feds. But we don't get that data. NOOOOOO, instead these fuckers would rather send hundreds of thousands of people diving under their stairs, so they can instead spend the money making their websites look like dumbed down version of Windows10 for the pussyhats, unicorns, and stupid people. FUCK YOU KDFW, KTVT, KXAS for fucking up your great S-Band web product, and most especially WFAA, for providing NEGATIVE VALUE to your customers. Pete Delkus is a buffoon. May the ghosts of Harold Taft and Jack van Roy seek vengeance on the management of Channels 5 & 8. And NO, I'm not evar erver ever going to download your fucking app with ZERO VALUE in a form factor that renders it basically useless for the most critical weather topic in north texas, which is the pinpoint placement and movement of mesocyclone rotation.

  10. A gun registry is not a solution for mass shootings. Please tell me exactly how a gun registry prevents any of the following shootings? - Parkland (age limit on purchase could have prevented asshole getting his AR; FBI and local LE both appear to have dropped ball on tips preceding the shooting) - Sutherland Springs (improvements to background system could have prevented asshole from getting his guns; AF dropped ball by failing to submit disqualifying info to NICS system) - Virginia Tech (improvements to background check system could have prevented asshole from getting his guns; had previously been adjudicated a danger to himself, failure of the NICS system) Real solutions...you know, means to solving a problem...are right in front of you. I and many other gun owners will support them. The problem is that you are not willing to take yes for an answer and you don't want to stop there...

  11. You have to keep reminding yourself that our President has no fucking idea what he is doing. The concept of strategy is foreign to him. The concept of collateral damage is completely foreign to him. He works on emotion and gut instinct, because you know he has the best instincts. His ever-expanding gut, and his instincts tell him that CHI-NA is unfair and must be defeated. Nothing presented to the contrary will move him off of this point. And he will recklessly mash all of the buttons at his disposal with his fat toddler fingers with zero regard for any secondary impacts.

  12. My wife is OCD about the dog getting out of the yard. She's particularly worried that the aggie kid next door is going to come into our backyard to retrieve his football or baseball and will leave the gate open. She comes home yesterday to find the gate not properly secured so she goes to Home Depot to buy a lock. I'm not paying too much attention to any of this until she tells me that she put the lock on but it's stuck and she can't get it off the latch. I'm thinking, "What the fuck could she possibly be talking about?" So I go outside and find out that she positioned the lock where it butts up against a stone wall and there isn't enough space between the lock and the wall to get a key in there.

  19. You have a lot of questions, which would suggest at first glance that you're an intellectually curious person. But that you ask the same questions in perpetuity and either never understand, or never care to contemplate, the answers provided to you would suggest otherwise. People have attempted to give paint-by-numbers responses to you as they realize the depths of your ignorance, and still you spout the same garbage like a political Teddy Ruxpin. I get that you're rooting real hard for your guy to be vindicated. Congratulations on that. I feel that this is an issue of such importance to our country that it deserves to be seen through to the end. Regardless of how long that takes. Go ahead, have someone flip the cassette tape in your back and hit play so you can ask me how long it will take. Do it. I'll give you the same answer I gave last time. You're an idiot.

  21. You said this on the old site, and this is just complete idiocy. No, Mueller is not going to leak all of their information "as soon as possible" to "attack the president in every way possible". This is absurd, and would be quite possibly the most idiotic approach possible to a wide ranging investigation of this level of importance.

  23. Not much is going to stop true random mass shootings. But the good news is the odds of dying in one is microscopic. About 1,000 Americans have been killed in the last 52 years since Whitman in true, random mass shootings (does not count domestic violence where a husband snaps and wipes out his family or gang related shootings -- it is counting other mass shootings where 4 or more people killed). WAPO Stats on Random Mass Shootings We have 300+ million people in our country, unless you are engaged in criminal activity, the odds of someone murdering you with a gun are tiny. I would like to focus on things that might actually prevent the 10k plus other gun homicides a year. Legalize or decriminalize drugs and treat them like a public health issue, not a crime. Release all non-violent drug offenders and restore their civil rights while expunging all non-violent drug offenses. Let these people have a chance at a job so they don't feel the need to rob or steal. Getting rid of prohibition will cut way down on gun homicides and gang turf wars. This also frees up a massive amount of criminal justice resources. Use the extra police manpower to police the community for things that actually threaten us -- like violent criminals and property crimes. Change our sentencing laws to bury under the jail any asshole who commits a gun crime or engages in gun violence. I am talking sentences so long that if and when they get out they are too old to be a threat. Strengthen laws against domestic violence and remove guns from those convicted of domestic violence crimes. Spend some of our war on drugs savings on mental health. I am less certain on specifics related to mental health.

Really good, really sad, really long story about a HS basketball team on a reservation in Montana from the NYT magazine: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/04/magazine/arlee-warriors-montana-basketball-flathead-indian-reservation.html Beautiful photography, too. Highlight package of the main kid. He's tiny, but he's really quick with great handle.

  26. Amen Brisket. Journalism is in dire need of reform. We need a strong "Chinese Wall" between news professionals and entertainers. CBS - to their credit - kept that wall in place better than any other major news division for many years (they eventually had to give into market forces that required a melding of news and entertainment). The non-stop commentary provided by journalists on entertainment programs (Maddow/Hannity) creates the appearance that news professionals are biased. Reporters should report and rarely, if ever, provide their personal opinions on hard facts. And they should never become the story (see Jim Acosta's transformation from a reporter to a news topic). For those of us old enough to remember Watergate, there has been a fundamental shift in how news is reported. During Watergate, we were provided with original content (the actual hearings were broadcast in their entirety on most networks). The ability to access the information directly allowed the public to hear the evidence from the horse's mouth; today, we hear secondhand interpretations from reporters who provide their own spin of the news. There is very little difference between propaganda and opinion. Reporters need to stick to the facts and provide original source material whenever possible. The reliance on unnamed sources (with God knows what agenda they are pursuing) further weakens the credibility of reporters. Unnamed sources have their place in moving the news forward, but must be viewed with healthy skepticism and not be mistaken for fact-based news. My last soapbox statement: the public craves facts. When reporters repeat the same angle on a story as the angle promoted by political operatives, the public should be skeptical of whether that news is biased and coordinated. The better reporters identify who is spinning what story. The best reporters also find non-establishment perspectives.

If Chris Nelson leaves, it's because of the beloved Sweet Chuck. That really amazing man who gave us the 3 worst fucking consecutive years in UT history who members of Nelson's circle remain convinced got screwed by Whitey.

  31. All cable news is garbage. This is like claiming that urine tastes better than feces. I know Hugo is just trolling with this post, but the last thing we need is for people to hold up cable fucking news ratings as some sort of symbol of righteousness. It's all poison for the brain, and we'd be better off as a country if both of those fucking hacks went out of business.

  35. Nirvana is the most overrated band of our generation. Cobain couldn't sing and he could barely play the guitar. Nirvana did manage to put out a handful of catchy, though very simple, songs. But Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains were all more talented and it's not even close.

  36. Let me preface this by stating you did ask for my thoughts, which was a mistake. That being said... I think you’re post is fucking retarded. It is moronic and at best, a thinly veiled attempt to troll the board. Asking about the willingness of a current coach to run up the score with a team that struggles to score any points is a question that should get you crowd banned and all thread privileges revoked. If it was a serious post, you should read the board for a while until you post again, at least until you graduate high school

  37. ^^^ That woman is ignorant. Reptilians can manipulate human genetic coding! You think they couldn't beat a dumb DNA test? Not to mention the fact that thousands of years ago, reptilians interbred with humans so there's tons of overlap in DNA anyways. I'm embarrassed for that woman.
