In terms of EXISTENCE of the issue, you're correct. In terms of DEGREE....you're way off base. And I say this with ZERO forgiveness or tolerance for lying from our leaders, period. But it's like saying "hey, they're both sick" when referring to one person who has a head cold, and another who has Ebola and blood leaking from all of their orifices as they approach death in a matter of hours. I've never seen anything remotely like this. Nobody has. The VOLUME of lies is staggering. So much so that they have overwhelmed our collective ability to even call attention to all of them. Yesterday's cavalcade of lies is washed away by today's tsunami of utter and complete falsehoods. We can still talk about the key lies of previous administrations because those lies STOOD OUT. They were, relatively speaking, exceptions that were easy to spot. With this administration....truth-telling is the exception. Don't tell me "hey, don't be afraid of a little virus" when we're talking about Ebola, not the common cold. Degree matters. It matters a lot.15 points

Some of you know that my 23 year old daughter died in October 2016 after fighting eating disorders for 7 years. This past week, I was going through an old box and found the last Christmas card she wrote to me. It ends like this: "You gave me the best present I could ask for - a second chance at life. We've gone through so much together, good and bad, happy and sad, and we're still closer than ever. I'm so proud to be your daughter and so grateful that we're practically twins! Always remember that I love to the moon and back. I love you daddy. Your knucklehead Morgan." Hole in the Heart that will never be filled. Hug your kids Gentlemen. Hug your kids.6 points

What in the fuck did I just click into? A debate about the efficacy of taking a proven grad transfer at TB when we have scholarships available? What the fuck is going on here?5 points

I hope he's fucking homeless by the time they're done with him. A lot of the bullshit he's peddled can be argued to have been vague enough that it didn't directly hurt anybody, but the shit he pulled with the Sandy Hook families was unconscionable.5 points

The payscae.com methodology removes from the calculation all individuals who go on to any post graduate study. It only includes individuals who stop their education after their undergrad degree. No doctors, no lawyers, no MBAs, no advanced degrees at all. So higher earners from other institutions are not considered in calculating earnings of school graduates. The payscale methodology is skewed to favor schools with large numbers of STEM grads who do not stay in school after obtaining their bachelor degree. Sound like any school we know of? When you are essentially a junior college finishing school where one-third of the students complete 30 or more hours at a junior college, of course you are going to have different levels of debt than an actual four-year institution. The students may have slightly lower levels of debt, but they also have lower levels of education. Let's not forget, with a 2.5 at Blinn, you are guaranteed transfer acceptance into Texas A&M (they lowered this to 2.5 just last year). Students with less than a 2.5 are admitted on a case-by-case basis. With a lower total enrollment, UT Austin confers more undergrad degrees than aggy, more masters degrees and more doctoral degrees. How does aggy explain more actual degrees with lower enrollment while claiming a higher graduation rate? Are aggys graduating without degrees? (the source for these numbers is the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board 2017 Almanac).5 points

Ah the Night Before Leal's Commitment. I can almost hear Burton pecking away on his Packard Bell writing his "Wednesday" column bemoaning Oscar Giles. I expect the second "paragraph" to be an open love letter to his ole pal Tim Brewster.4 points

That's it. Anyone with a modicum of training can take off, fly, and land a fully-functioning plane in bluebird weather. That ain't what I want to pay my pilot for. I want the SOB with icewater in his (or her) veins, who can make split-second decisions in a crisis, keep their cool the whole time, do complex math in their head while flying the plane so as to evaluate alternatives, and knows how to fly anything from a busted cropduster to a state-of-the-art Boeing. In short, give me someone with military training, in most cases. Give me this gal. Give me Sully. Give me the pilot of United 232 in Sioux City.4 points

The R vs D shitfest is not as serious as it’s made out to be. Yes, it’s used to fire up the base. But at the end of the day, the major corporations are donating to both parties, and a lot of legislation happens because members on both sides were bought off. If you don’t solve the lobbyist problem, nothing will change.4 points

All add some more Information. One, Tre Watson is a graduate transfer, so it doesn't qualify as "scouring JUCO options." Second, outside of what Ingram wanted, the RB position in the state of Texas last year was smoking hot garbage, so you know, some people are ok with not signing another Tristian Houston to sit on the bench for 4 years. We've got one of those already for another couple as it stands. Oh, and we're in great shape for some studs in 2019 and THE stud in 2020. I'm perfectly fine with the way we're working the RB position last cycle, as well as this cycle.4 points

Getting worked up over a member of the old site trying to help the shithead who took it over / stole it? That new owner who tried to financially ruin Bob. And that member openly talked shit on Blacklab/Bob who is largely responsible for bringing all us assholes together? Then when he realized shit over there may be too much...came crawling in here, we’re not supposed to get worked up? Also guess what forum the sticky was on when we found out an eviction notice was posted at Shaggy? Yep, the football board. I’ll let you try to figure out why. All this is nothing to get worked up over? Fuck you.4 points

Tex Long is 75. Never thought I'd make it, leastways not for my first 65 years. Now I reckon I'll just keep going... Which is a Good Thing, because that might be what it takes to make sure I see the 'Horns win all our games some fine season.3 points

2017: 73 runs in the first 17 games. 2018: 68 runs in the first 17 games. Meh. Some of y'all are ridiculous. What odds will y'all give me that the Astros and Dodgers both win their divisions by at least 5 games?3 points

we need something to shake shit up - hinch getting ejected, bringing up someone/sending someone down, a fight, whatever. we seem to have this general malaise about ourselves and it's pretty easy to spot. yeah we're playing games but we're not playing our game. seeing too many guys do too much on their own or trying to be a hero with one swing, shit just snowballs over time - last night, runner on 2nd, marwin swings at a 3-0 pitch that he wouldnt be able to do much with. end of an inning, no run scored on and lose by a run. take the pitch, extend the inning, work the pitcher, put emphasis on the defense, etc - too many self-thwarted outs. we're used to waiting at-bats out, swinging within ourselves and make hard contact - as much shit as he gets, i did like gattis prolonged at bat last night - baby steps but still ones we shouldnt have had to wait until the third week in april to make. something will light this team, i don't know what is but needs to happen sooner rather than later. you can't win a division in april but you can play yourself outta win easily. i suspect we'll make some internal moves that we don't see coming - and one we expect seeing coming at some point this year. hang in there boys, long season.3 points

There's really something to that. Step 1: "Obama did all these evil terrible things!" [He really didn't, and/or the degree of what he did was pretty minor]. The point is, they have convinced themselves that their fever dreams are real. Step 2: So, WE can and should do what Obama did! [Again, not what Obama actually did, but what their fever dreams are] Step 3: DO ALL THE OBAMA THINGS! It's fucking nuts. "Obama was a secret traitor to the country who was corrupt and used all American assets for personal enrichment and used the DOJ to go after his enemies and he had total control of the DOJ and he golfed all the time!" And then they do....exactly those things.3 points
