  3. It's bizarre how a possible meeting with no concessions on denuclearization is "Mission Accomplished" for Trump supporters, while an actual non-nuclearization deal with Iran that Trump's own SecDef admits has robust verification is an embarrassing disaster. 2+2=5.

  4. I don't care if Witten retired an hour before the regular season opener. He is one of the best to ever play for this franchise, one of the best TEs ever, and a rock-solid human being. That dude has earned "no issue" regardless of how he decides to go out.

  5. Yesterday we had a half a gallon of perfectly fine milk plus a full unopened gallon in the fridge. This morning I only see the full gallon. Other jug is empty and in the trash. "Yall drank all that milk?" "No." "It was fine yesterday, did it start to smell bad?" "No. It was getting close to the expiration date, and we have that other full gallon we need to open soon." "Open soon so we don't end up wasting half of it?" tone

  6. Football is a brutal game and every player with a legit shot at the NFL knows their time could be over in an instant. If they make it through without major injury, there are still the cumulative effects to deal with. I don’t see how anyone can begrudge any football player’s decision to spend one of those risky and finite seasons getting paid. CW and Malik are Longhorns for life and I will be watching them in the NFL. What is with these crappy posts?

  9. I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

  12. It's not just self awareness. It's awareness of history. Let's say all of a sudden tomorrow the boy genius Jared has a photo op with Netanyahu and the leaders of Hamas or Saudi Arabia. Are we all going to say, "Well, I guess that's peace in the Middle East then." Fuck no. Those people been at each other's throats for just a couple years longer than NK and SK. Anyone with any sense would approach with at least a touch of optimistic skepticism. GTFO with spiking the damn football because Lil Kim shook some hands.

  17. I don't really view it happening that way. I'm guessing what will happen is that Richardson will not decommit, will visit other schools, and then Jimbo does jack fucking shit and every kid in this class realizes the reality: if they're an elite talent they can do whatever the fuck they want while that stupid little hobbit sits in a corner, pulling is mirco-pud and watching his wife get hammered as every 4 and 5 star does whatever they want to her. Am I mixing my metaphors? Sure. But it's still a fairly accurate image, I believe. Richardson will visit, Jimbo won't pull his scholarship, and he'll be revealed toothless. Or even better, he'll pull some other mediocre kids scholarship but not Demani's and the kids will realize he's an inconsistent favorite playing motherfucker. At least, that's the best case scenario.

  21. So, with an unashamed admission that I truly love 80s hair metal, I'll go ahead and post up one of my favorite 80s videos NOT from that genre, but instead a super-poppy video, which also happens to be one of the most famous music videos of all time. I loved the song then, and still do. For some reason recently, I stumbled over this on Youtube with my kids (ages 8 and 10) and they really loved it as well. I guess it's timeless.

  22. Finally had a chance to play around a little with it after watching the draft. It sounds great, especially through the Bassbreaker. Really has that SG bark, but also some bass response, which is cool. Compared to my Epiphone SG-400, it actually has a slightly thinner body and is a bit lighter, which surprised me. But the nut width is considerably wider on the Gib, as well as the string width. That's great for my fat, clumbsy fingertips. The string width was just slightly wider on my PRS SE, and looked about the same as my Mexico Strat. It seems to stay in tune well through a lot of bending. I guess it's that self-lubricating nut thing. I was kind of expecting the body to show seams for three to five pieces of wood glued together. But without really super closely inspecting it certainly wasn't apparent. They do a great job making it look like a solid piece, however many it is. The finish is a little rough to the feel, but that's why it's cheap as dirt. The carving and contouring seems nice and sharp. The color is really nice. I really like the tuning keys, very silky smooth. They're about the nicest I've used on a guitar, but I really haven't picked up my other USA made guitars in a while. I'm gonna pull them out soon and document my 'Murrica grand slam four together, two Fenders and two Gibsons. If I had my druthers I would have the body a little bit thicker and heavier, and some fancier fretboard inlays, and something nice on the headstock the little crown thing or something. Other than that I can't find anything to complain about. Chrome covered pickups look a little cooler, but these bare ones are nice, too.

  23. I think it is. We've never come to terms with the horrors and cruelty we -- white folks, churchgoing folks, local leadership -- inflicted on black people. We passed the Civil Rights Act (and now we get to hear people tell us how that was a bad idea). And we have told black people, since the day it was voted on, to "get over it." If that was me sitting at that lunch counter with food poured on my head...or if that was my father or grandfather there...or my great grandfather, swinging from a tree while the entire town points and smiles...I don't think I'd be "over it."

  24. I dunno. I might. What I've seen of the "three clients" discussion is on this thread. I'm not sure what was STATED in open court. But the letter disclosed Broidy, so if what Avenatti said was that Cohen did not reveal that Broidy was his client, then Avenatti was either quite mistaken or lying. And if he's lying, that will hurt his credibility and was a dumb and pointless thing to do. And most definitely this. How about this, Sheeit, since you like asking questions so much: Is lying generally good, or generally bad? If it's generally bad, does the volume/quantity of lies matter? That is, if someone has lied just once or twice about middling things, is that better or worse than someone who lies thousands of times about things from the trivial to the profound, and everything in between? Are the lies lesser or greater depending on the person telling them? That is, is it of greater impact if a waitress tells a single patron a lie versus the head of the restaurant chain telling all of its customers a lie? I'm just asking questions. I'm very concerned. Is that how this is done? I haven't really done the "concern troll" thing before. But I really do think you owe us some answers. I've told you where I stand. It's your turn.

  25. If it's revealed he lied I'm as positive about anything that Brisket Goth wouldn't hesitate even a second to call him a pants on fire doo doo head. But what's fascinating here is your sudden intolerance for someone who might've lied once. We're not even sure he's lying at all yet. But you're challenging another poster to call out what might not even be a lie. Because you hate people who don't tell the truth, especially this nuisance of a lawyer representing a porn star. You've honed in on this particular lie with laser focus. Somehow, though, you're seemingly unconcerned about the other lie that came within minutes of that lie, where Trump admitted that Michael Cohen represents him "a little bit" on the "Crazy Stormy Daniels thing" after he already said that he knew nothing about Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen. But let's not get distracted by that. Let's get to the bottom of that other lie. Because lying is unconscionable to you.

  30. This is my entire point. The vast majority of people have fairly consistent views on abortion itself. Most people think it's a bad thing. Virtually everyone is opposed morally to 3rd trimester abortions. "Pro-life" and "pro-choice" are political labels vaguely revolving around the topic of abortion writ large, but are primarily simple labels of politics and are tied to a host of other worldview disputes that are only tangentially related to abortion. Even those two labels, taken at face value, do not disagree, and they actually tell us very little about the individual beliefs of those with the title. It is literally useless to talk about it in terms of "pro-life" and "pro-choice".

  31. Serious answer - brought the issue of immigration reform to the forefront. I don't agree with Trump's proposed policies but we absolutely need a cohesive strategy for dealing with the influx of illegal immigrants. The wall is a stupid fucking idea, but we can certainly do better as a country than largely ignoring the issue like we've done for decades. Surlyhorns answer - WARLOCKS
