There's always been pieces of this crowd that have been sketchy and/or ugly. Piling on people who are clearly mentally ill, for one example. But usually the ugliness gets called out, as it should. But bannanation? For political talk? Please. Spare me that butthurt. Go play in another sandbox if this one gets your vagina too grainy.5 points

It takes a special kind of a) stupid or b)blatant disregard for the rules or c)both to miss that many drug tests at Texas. After you miss the first 2(?) in house tests, they tell you the exact day that they will be testing you. All you have to do is piss clean. He couldn't even manage that. I'm pro marijuana legalization, but lets have an adult perspective on this. If you have an opportunity to make millions of dollars and all you have to do is avoid one substance for ~10 years (if you're lucky), you do what is asked of you. "Hey, Holton, you have an opportunity to play at a D1 school with an insane pro pedigree at your position. All you have to do is not fail five drug tests over 4 years and you're guaranteed to make a couple of million dollars." And an even more honest take is that over half of the team smokes pot. A large number of them pop once or twice, especially in the spring or after summer. We don't hear about it because it is dealt with internally. Why is Holton getting singled out? Because he is the only one making it a problem. From what I heard about Strong's take on a college lifestyle, it was "if you can do it without me hearing about it, great. But the moment that shit lands on my desk, I'm going to make you pay hard." Holton ran up a tab with Strong, which put a bullseye on his back with Herman. If Holton pissed hot after Herman told him not to, with Herman trying to establish his presence in the locker room, I don't see how Herman could possibly look the other way. Everybody was playing by the same rules and only Holton was dumb enough to be the habitual line crosser. And that's the key issue, not the weed itself. Yes, the weed rules in and of themselves are stupid and arbitrary, but they are still the rules. Not following them hurt himself and the team.4 points

The thing that irks me the most about the Nork situation is how normalized and numb we’ve become to Kim Jong Un. This guy runs a prison concentration camp state and he killed his own brother last year. And Trump is like, “Kim Jong Un is an honorable guy! Very professional! Look forward to meeting him!” It’s disgusting. Fuck Lil’ Kim and his whole fucking family.4 points

Wait, is this supposed to be a cutting response? Because he didn't talk about his daughters breasts or dating her so I'll take 4th&Five and let you explain to yours all that and grabbing them by the pussy or hanging around dressing room beauty pageants. I feel bad cleaning the cat box because I don't like disturbing your buried family members is an insult. But the silver lining is that they're all reunited in the big bin outside.4 points

If it's revealed he lied I'm as positive about anything that Brisket Goth wouldn't hesitate even a second to call him a pants on fire doo doo head. But what's fascinating here is your sudden intolerance for someone who might've lied once. We're not even sure he's lying at all yet. But you're challenging another poster to call out what might not even be a lie. Because you hate people who don't tell the truth, especially this nuisance of a lawyer representing a porn star. You've honed in on this particular lie with laser focus. Somehow, though, you're seemingly unconcerned about the other lie that came within minutes of that lie, where Trump admitted that Michael Cohen represents him "a little bit" on the "Crazy Stormy Daniels thing" after he already said that he knew nothing about Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen. But let's not get distracted by that. Let's get to the bottom of that other lie. Because lying is unconscionable to you.4 points

Drew could be the worst recruiter on staff. Not 1 WR commit last year came here because he made it happen. This year he continues his struggles. He failed to build a relationship with the local guys, Wilson a special talent and Drew is not his dude.3 points

Balbay's injury in the 1st half against UConn was a big reason why Barnes 17-0 team fell apart over the 2nd half of the season. Brown was a freshmen, and Mason became the starting PG.3 points

For the past 7304 days, I have not found it necessary to take a drink. Twenty years have flown by since the last bender, and I could not be more grateful for the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, the God of my understanding I found there, and the men and women both in and out of the rooms who showed me a design for living that has made living life on life's terms a worthwhile goal every day. Glad I found what turned out to be what I never could find in the bottle, and for the lives of the men I get to work with while trudging the road to happy destiny. Thanks also to you guys-this thread would have been the one I missed the most if the site had not been reborn.3 points

Russell Westbrook is such an immature bitch. Maybe the last person I’d ever root for in any sport on the planet at this point. This fucking idiot just went after a fan who said *nothing* to him, then went after multiple reporters and refused to answer their questions, then had the nerve and sheer lack of self awareness to say, “I don’t let what other people say bother me. It’s in one ear and out the other.” Fuck you. You and your Okie fans deserve one another.3 points

Gook luck on your car! Bought a '67 Firebird convertible in high school. My father told me me not to buy it. Did it anyway. Other than playing catch with the football or baseball or going to a game or fishing, that was the closest I ever got to my father. Fixing on that car. We were pals. I remember the seventh spark plug was so torqued into the block but we figured it out - he let me figure it out - and WE DRANK A BEER TOGETHER. Mom was pissed.3 points

As much as I love well-produced studio recordings, live performances are more often than not where the rubber meets the road. Somehow, all the little mistakes often seem to add up to create a vibe that's really hard to replicate in a recording studio. I don't think I've ever seen this one . . . it shows just how naturally talented Paul McCartney really is:2 points

My understanding is that this is increasingly not true; the president is understood to be a electoral political asset for Democrats, provided that he continues to remain a mostly inept embarrassment, because his disgraceful failures both motivates Democrat voters and demotivate his own coalition. Mike Pence, on the other hand, is viewed as an adroit politician and reputational blank slate who projects decency and competence well. Pence could manage both roles, as: 1) healing unifier following a bitterly contested impeachment and trial and, 2) vehicle of backlash if the Democrats overreach, even during a successful impeachment, which is not a cinch even if they take the house, because a Senate Majority is unlikely let alone the kind of majority it would take to make 2/3 achievable. The bottom line is that impeachment is less likely by the day unless the votes are clearly there in both the house and senate, and that would take a bipartisan consensus.2 points

The amateur operatives are getting sort of desperate sounding falling back to it was about adoptions, think of the children, it was all for the little children! and the absurd attempt to blame the Dem administration for allowing Russians into our beloved country. I particularly like somebody slipping in the new goal post of Trump having to have been at the meeting himself. Smoove. The GOP conspiracy to whitewash increasingly suggests to me that many in that party are dirty, too. GOPs could abandon Nixon because they weren't personally involved. Why can't GOPs today abandon Trump as the stink gets worse and worse? Soon the amateur operatives will find themselves alone on the barricades. The men they defend with their own dying integrity will have long ago fled. Still, the amateur operative will fight on. He knows no other way and isn't much interested in any other way.2 points

Not to mention Williams was a fucking team captain. That entire performance was pathetic. Running out in warm ups "trying" to play, then watching from the sidelines with a cane. At least the other quitters made their choice publicly and stood behind it instead of engaging in selfish kabuki.2 points

197.6 this morning. I guess my new goal will be 190. Celebrating with some BBQ for lunch. I don’t think I’ve said it on the new site here but I’ve been on the DASH diet since September. Basically it’s low sodium. It has been much easier and I’ve had better results than I ever did with low carb. More importantly my blood pressure is back in a healthy range, which is why my doctor put me on it in the first place. I started at 250.2 points

A few months ago it was hard to imagine Kim coming to the DMZ, holding hands with moon, and dancing across the border. I am not sure where this all goes, but I think that we should be guardedly optimistic. The signals here are better than the recent and longer term status quo.2 points

I was on the opposite side of the drag, about that far down the hall. The only reason I remember my room number is that I still have my little address book from back then. My first night at the Woo was spent on the floor. I woke up the next morning with my face stuck to the floor in green vomit. I had gone to a KD crush party at Hyde’s and drank a shitload of those green drinks.2 points

This is wrong. I used to believe this too, before I lived in South Korea. I have talked to U.S. soldiers in SK about this issue. They told me the US remained here to keep South Korea from invading/bombing the North when they provoke the South, which NK is fond of doing from time to time. See here and here as examples. Before they had nukes, North Korea basically admitted that if a war occurred they would do as much artillery damage to Seoul as they could since that is basically all they could do in a conventional conflict. With nukes the best they could do would be mutually assured destruction. North Korea has little fuel and outdated military equipment. They have troubles even meeting the basic needs of their citizens. They have pretty much zero surpluses of anything. They have a large army, put how well did that serve Iraq (5th largest army in the world at the time) when they faced a modernized army and Iraq had enough fuel for their vehicles. South Korea has a modern military. They are one of the 10 biggest military spenders in the world. They can defend themselves. If we leave they will quickly develop their own nukes. Followed by Japan doing so as well. We remain to try to keep things on an even keel, or at least we did before Trump. NK currently would get crushed in a conventional war with South Korea. It is not 1950 where the North had all the industry. Nukes are a way to ensure NK's survival long-term, as even though they would lose any conflict, they could cause large scale damage to many countries which the US and it's allies would want to avoid (if NK can get their rockets to work correctly). NK won't give them up easily. The unsaid reason we want NK to drop their program is to keep Asia from a nuclear arms race. If they don't disarm, South Korea and Japan will quickly develop their own. Politicians in both countries are starting to call for their development. This is why China would prefer NK disarm as well. If they don't, China will gain two more countries with nukes on their doorstep.2 points

It's bizarre how a possible meeting with no concessions on denuclearization is "Mission Accomplished" for Trump supporters, while an actual non-nuclearization deal with Iran that Trump's own SecDef admits has robust verification is an embarrassing disaster. 2+2=5.2 points

Southbound 183 to Mopac flyover at 7:00am. Two lanes. One on the right for people that want to go southbound, one on the left for people that want to go northbound. Fuck you if you're one of the people that passes the whole line of people in traffic going southbound by driving as far up the ramp in the northbound lane and then stopping when no one wants to let you merge because we've/they've all been sitting in the traffic. That's not two lanes merging into one, you fucking assholes. That's you being a danger to drivers wanting to go northbound by STOPPING in a fucking lane because you couldn't be bothered to wait in traffic like everyone else. We've all got somewhere to be at the time of day. Stop thinking your time is more valuable than your fellow drivers and stop being a cunt causing dangerous driving situations on a fucking freeway.2 points

Sorry I’m old school. Leave the kid with grandma and take your wife to any of those places, only if she’s willing. If she insists on dragging a basic fetus all over the country you might want to reconsider your marriage. The kid ain’t gonna remember shit and will scream, shit and cry the whole time, and you will get blamed for it when he is in prison.2 points
