SO GLAD WE NOW GET TO HAVE THIS DISCUSSION IN THE RECRUITING THREAD TOO.6 points

Welcome neighbor, come on over the water is fine. I said this before and I will say it again. I am a huge Jordan fan, as most people my age are, but I always told myself that I would never be the old man still clinging to his heroes the way I saw guys doing when Jordan was playing back when WE were young. That said this guy is the best player I have ever seen. He is as good offensively as anyone has ever been, but it's his other abilities that are what put him over the top. The ridiculous passing. The ability to know when you need to affect a game, and how you need to do it. Last night Jordan or Kobe would've saw that his teammates didn't have it, kept jacking, and they would've lost. Lebron came out and tried to get his teammates going. When he saw they didn't have it he went to work and kept them in striking distance, then he came back to them when the game and nerves settled down. That is exactly what Houston needed the other night, and something taken for granted by the casual fan. People who want Jordan to continue to be Goat will always point to the Finals record. However it IS a team sport, and your success depends on your teammates and who you are playing. I look at it like this. Jordan's Bulls beat everyone they were supposed to beat. Lebron's legacy will always have the 2011 smudge on it, but it will also have 2016 on it as well, something Jordan never did.6 points

it's just amazing to me the reactionary posts you get when it comes to sports. durant and the warriors stacked the deck so much in their favor on july 4th, 2016 that people were saying they'd win the next 4-5 championships and the nba was ruined. exactly one team has given them a series since then and that team lost a HOF PG in the game that put them up 3-2 in the series. but now we need to fire the coach, change the system because it "can't win" (which is fucking horseshit because there is 1 team in the world that can beat the rockets in a 7 game series), blah blah blah. the warriors are about to go destroy the cavs in 4 or 5 noncompetitive games and win another ring. going in to the finals, they have lost 6 games combined over the last 2 postseasons, 3 of them in this series. but yeah, lets tear everything down despite being the only team that's given them any competition. what the fuck ever.5 points

I can’t think a worse way to ruin what could be a fun baseball weekend than inviting the cucks of college station to come civilization and ruin it for all of the other normal people. Win or lose, everybody still has to deal with aggy doing all their aggy stuff which makes us all losers. Kind of depressing.5 points

The right wing as its last gasps (after Nixon) went Hollywood sham, then war monger ineptitude, then full tilt racist, now Russian Mobster. What's next is the end of democracy, truth & law & order in all respects other than in the form of marshall law despotism. Which means America is done. The Republican party defeated America. These people were all ex red state confederates, themselves treasonous genocidal racists. America is no more when the bumpkins & the robber barons align with the KGB to stick it to "change". Fuck the GOP. They are damnable shit stains.4 points

Just like always, recruits committed elsewhere are ripe for poaching by aggy, but aggy commits are as firm as the 20 year old black cock in candi’s hand.4 points

Not stupid, and not real easy to answer, at least in terms of understanding, but I'll try. Most storms going across the U.S. including winter (snowstorms, lows bringing rain, frontal systems bringing severe weather, etc. get their fuel from a "cold core". That is, many of these storms pull down cooler air from Canada and it mixes in with the warmer air coming in from the South, which is usually humid. These two air masses mix in the storm, the warmer air rises, cools, and produces turbulence. So a "regular" storm feeds cold air into warm, produces instability, and you get whatever. Tropical systems form too far south to pull in really cold air, but they pull in very warm air off of the ocean (usually 80° or above to "go tropical") and they retain a warm core of air from surface almost all the way up the storm (think of a tall cylinder of same temp air). These are "warm core" storms. They really don't evolve from the interaction of cold air (or any other system really). They fuel up because they have so much warm air, which also rises and forms thunderstorms, that they just blow up. They would normally just kind of die down/out, but because the storm is "warm core" there is very little instability, mostly in the form of mid or high level horizontal winds, that serve to scatter and expend the energy (when there is, the storm shears off and dies out) - the cylinder of air is uniform and basically remains vertically intact when a storm finally goes "tropical" - there's nothing to chop up that tall vertical cylinder. Tropical systems are remarkably uniform in temperature well up into the storm.. the surface temp is not a lot higher than the temp at 10,000 feet. Because of this, the fueling can keep going, not "instability" itself out... it just gets more and more wound up (somewhat due to the Coriolis Effect and wind pattern movements, again this ain't easy stuff) and just keeps cranking until something interferes with it (land, another system, etc.). Note that almost all tropical systems die out into "cold core" normal lows because they eventually get messed with colder air at higher latitudes. Alberto is "subtropical" because it shares features of both cold core and warm core (tropical) storms. What takes over (like multiple personalities) depends on where it is and what the winds/temps are like. There's been enough cold air and wind to keep Alberto from having a uniformly warm core from surface to top. However the water is actually warmer near the U.S. coast (shallower, sun can heat it up more deeply), so it's likely that Alberto will become fully tropical in the next half day or so. But then it'll hit land and quickly restore a colder core at the surface and just diminish into a rainy system as the winds die down and the rain empties out. Other than that, about tree fiddy.4 points

Trump is what pathetic losers THINK a tough guy is. The guy who talks a big game in the bar, brags about what a tough guy he is, etc. Problem is, he’s also the guy hiding in the john when the shit hits the fan, then comes out talking about how he totally WOULD have kicked ass, had he known what was happening.4 points

Wife's favorite thing to do is make plans and then ask if it's ok. Wife on Friday afternoon: I told my whole fucking family they can come up and spend the weekend with us. Is that ok? Me: Why do you wait until you make plans to ask me my opinion? Wife: I can tell them nevermind, I just wasn't sure what to say. Me: No it's fine, was actually hoping to spend a relaxing 3 day weekend with your family on short notice. Wife: Are you annoyed with me?4 points

Behind every good man, there's a woman. and that woman was Martha Washington, man. And every day, George would come home, she'd have a big, fat bowl waiting for him when he'd come in the door. She was a hip, hip, hip lady, man.3 points

Got it all done. One brisket was finished around noon. The other was stubborn and didn't finish up until 3:00 pm, just enough time to rest it before the party at 4. Didn't snap any pictures of the ribs, but they turned out fine.3 points

I dunno, because there'a whole government apparatus built on checks and balances as well as investigative units? Coming from the faux outraged tan suit crowd, this is rich. Obama was in a damned either way situation. The Republicans and Trump call for blood with a public Trump Russia investigation, especially since this would feed into Trump's rigged election narrative. Ya'll like to pretend that Obama had unlimited power and wasn't stonewalled his last year. Otherwise, gotta love the argument that if Trump was allowed to run a racist, Communist funded campaign, it's Obama's fault rather than the corrupt RNC that not only enabled and fed it but is still defending it. Your point is lazy, revisionist history based on we get to say stupid shit and any disagreement is fake news. Every Republican candidate and Paul Ryan acknowledged Trump was corrupt and they still looked the other way. If any group allowed this fat, pile of fetid puss to get elected, it is the party that Trump currently represents. This is your party--own it, every single corrupt act.3 points

FUUUUUUCK. Wife was in charge of trip planning. Tried to save $6 ($2/day) by using the cheapest airport parking lot. I knew when we parked it was a shitshow. Shit is not even paved. Land at 9:30, at 10:45 still no sign of shuttle. Take an uber to the lot ($13) to discover that BOTH SIDES OF MY FUCKING CAR GOT DINGED. Same fucking company has a covered garage for $3/day more. And we saw a shuttle for the covered lot every 5 minutes.2 points

^He sounds like most kids his age, with that kind of talent, when they don't see PT right away. 90% of these kids think that way, very few follow through. He was giving a talk on perseverance to a group of kids, so some context is left out of quotes like that.2 points
