  1. Great post, again, Chooky. Just wanted to point out that this Chooky guy gets it. I can tell by his posts that he's handsome and well endowed. We should start sending him money and maybe even let him have a run at some of our wives if they're attractive. Keep on keepin' on Chooky. You are the man.

  3. A couple of interesting things for everybody. Do with it what you will. Cine - A new proud papa up in the Mass area looks like a strong reason why returning that way, loosely, to Penn State, makes sense. This isn’t a done deal, but it’s why PSU leads, no matter what a dumb fuck like EJ Holland tells his lemmings. Sanders - Texas has a legit shot here, so there’s been crazier shit happen, but guys like this usually sign with Bama or Georgia in the current atmosphere. McCoy - Players don’t love Helton. This is coming across to guys like McCoy. This is a guy who signs with USC in most cycles. Put your money on that being the case this cycle, but buy a lottery ticket flyer on Texas. Bama did not resonate. Taurean Carter - This guy is a take independent of anything else. He has a 79 inch wingspan at 6’1”. That’s not public but helps make him a low key, high value type that Fat Pattie has feasted on until Herman’s crew showed up. Oscar Frigging Giles needs to push here and close this. The Other Carter - This is a top 50 national prospect. He has a really, really bad guy in the nuclear family and, more or less, it makes him a guy that Texas will watch elsewhere. Things change, but while he’s interested, they’re really not. Wydermeyer - I don’t even know if I got his name right, but the Dickinson TE is a fucking stud. Our guys are good, but it’s sucks that this guy more or less wants to be an aggie. Shepherd - Free money for visits in the fall but there’s a great shot he winds up at Texas. Midlothian WR - It’s Langston Something - this guy is a higher priority target than anyone but Higgins and Wright. Higgins - Florida is probably the real problem. He and his family are from there. That’s all I remember. Fucking St. Arnold’s Art Car after margaritas dims memories, thankfully, but not doesn’t help this re-tell.

  8. Oops, sock fail! Forgot which sock you were posting under, huh? So, you not only post under multiple socks, but you actually use them to defend your own moronic posts, to make people think that other posters agree with you? That is pathetic. I suppose the three random likes you got for this post from Chrispy, Enchubben, and blackmarketbaby are all you too?

  12. ok. ok. yall see what's happened in this tweet, right? it's more than simply touting some semblance of success (as much as it can be a success with the north koreans upgrading nuclear facilities this last weekend). he is actively throwing the democratic party in with the press as something to be castigated. not only that, but he has continued his campaign of dehumanization. the press is "fake news" not to be trusted, and now the democratic party is the "Opposition Party", with caps to make sure the message is driven home. that, my friends, is despotic, chavez-style rhetoric. this is exactly how chavez began his takeover of the venezuelan government. this is now officially kind of scary. combine that with the optics of our government celebrating OUR independence day in fucking russia, and it seem that they are actively trying to thumb their nose at american convention.

  14. 7 months ago today I was sitting in a "detox" against my will with a bunch of certifiable crazies. I was momentarily certifiable myself, it was ugly, I just didn't have the scars on my wrists to prove it. Alcohol is a cunning, baffling, and powerful motherfucker to say the least. I didn't get sober when I got out, but it was certainly almost bottom. I had to get myself fired a month later to finally give it up. You don't have to go through the hell I did to get out of it. I'm just strong willed and had to completely burn it all down. This wasn't my first rodeo. I knew that my drinking days were coming to an end. Thank God I made it out alive without doing and serious harm to others. I know holidays can be hard for the lonely, depressed, and hopeless. When I was at the end of my drinking I didn't get a lot of invites to do things and I was alone. I had plenty of friends and was fun to be around, until I wasn't. My thoughts were dark, life sucked and I isolated. If you're out there and reading this, it can and will get better if you do something different. The only thing scarier than making a change in my life was living with alone with my thoughts and the possibility of harming someone else. There is a different way to live and life gets better no matter how crazy that sounds. You're loved and there are a lot of people out there who've done what you have, some of us worse. Keep the faith, take some action to change when the thought occurs, and don't let that evil motherfucker win.

  15. Finally got around to a good detailing only to park in the garage while it's expected to rain for the next several days. Just about the one year anniversary of taking delivery in Austin last summer with my dad and son for a guys trip. Same weekend Speith won the British Open - serendipitous timing.

  18. Late to the table top party but my daughter (no pics) and I built a round table top to be fitted to a cable spool for a table in her apartment last summer. We used 1x red oak from Home Depot with a AC plywood base. We glued up the boards two or three at a time making sure we got good edge joints and that everything was flat. Used a bunch of cheap bar clamps from Harbor Freight (50") for the last glue up. Used the #5 plane on a few high spots and then the RO sander to knock it down smooth. Built a few quick stools out of 2x12 YP to go with it.

  21. A day or so ago in this thread, I saw some shit about Tony's interview last season which supposedly got Kawhi's panties in a bunch...... Here's said interview. First, I don't really believe he was that upset about the interview, seems like a BS excuse to try and build a narrative that the Spurs were mean to him. Second, if he really was upset, he's a total pansy. He also has Tony's phone number, he could have picked up the phone.... This is more like the reality of the situation.... Could the Spurs played this better? Yes. Do they need to rigorously review their medical staff? Seems so. But they're not the big bad guy here.....

  22. lulz at the claim that wasn't a penalty. He fouled him from the very beginning (hold), then let go of the hold to obstruct him, then jumped on top of him. No, worse does not go uncalled in every soccer match.

  24. I just can't tell you how happy I am with this Explorer. I can't find much about the details of a '90 model, but the neck has the familiar soft feel as my '88 335, only faster - and unbound obviously. I don't know what pickups are in it, but they are agressive and loud; I always say my LP R8 sounds like the right hand of Thor, this guitar sounds like his left. Who knew Thor was a lefty? And the body / shape is so comfortable. It's sits across me so naturally. I love all my guitars, and I think I've cultivated a pretty decent time collection over the last decade, but I think I've found the new number 2. I've been trying to write some original stuff to define this next chapter for me and this thing has definitely sparked the creativity nerve I've been in search of - i think this guitar has helped me find the sound ive been looking for. Stay tuned. *** I also realized this is my 7th Gibson and am thinking that, as much as I fun I have with the sparklinesss of my Fenders and the twang of my Gretches, the sound of these Gibson's is just what drives me??

  26. This is exactly correct. I've been asked before why I always rail on Republicans and the GOP on this site and not the Democrats despite being a libertarian (classical liberal). Well socially I am closer to the Democrats' side because I don't want the government up in my business in the bedroom or elsewhere when it comes to personal choices. The GOP has historically wanted to tell me what I can put in my body and what I can put my body in IYKWIM. Fiscally I obviously oppose the Democratic Party and their frequently terrible ideas, but the thing is that they are honest about the fact that they want to increase revenues by taxing in order to pay for their absurd spending. Meanwhile the GOP likes to pretend that they're on the side of fiscal conservatism but that's a complete and total lie. They are not in any way, shape, or form. So in addition to the fact that I have an innate hatred of hypocrisy, in the end there are two major parties. I generally side with one of them on social issues but oppose them economically. I oppose the other one on social issues and also oppose the reality of their economic policies because their lip service is 100% BS.

  27. FlemLo Raps makes good YouTube videos that track the careers of players from the very successful to the Maurice Claretts of the world. He often finds surprising facts and stats that cast the player in a different light. He just released one today about Armanti Foreman. Aside from referring to Tom Herman as "Scott Herman," it's a good video and he addresses the controversy involving Armanti's father. Good luck to Armanti and I hope he catches on somewhere.

  28. Interesting question. Does the end justify the means? In general, the answer has traditionally been no. I think that is an appropriate answer here, too, and it sort of answers your second question - the malfeasances were not justified, and this implies they were not necessary. As for the first, I don't really know in depth how much brutality and exploitation occurred in the course of other conquests than WWEM, so it's hard to measure. As for the third question, it's pretty clear that brutalizing conquered people does not advance enlightenment of the oppressors; quite the opposite. One example is European treatment of the Native Americans. Early on in the conquest of North America, before the European settlements became large and powerful enough to be dominant, they were less nasty to the natives than they would be later on, further west. There was a good amount of communication, and the Euros actually got some good ideas from the natives - notably the portions of American governmental structure borrowed from the Iroquois. In general it's never good for the soul to oppress and brutalize, and that applies to cultures as much as it does to individuals.

  30. Like the US, there are many factions in Iran. Rhouhani is generally considered a moderate who was looking to push better relations with the West. The deal that was recently torn up would never have been agreed to under Ahmadinejad, the previous president for two reasons: A. would not have agreed to it and the US would not have wanted the Iranian economy improve under A.. The US tries to walk a balancing act of trying to get Iran to go more moderate, but trying like hell to never appear like they are influencing Iranian politics, which generates a profound backlash due to previous interference. That's why public calls for regime change are so profoundly stupid. But, Rhouhani has his enemies in Iran, many of whom didn't like the Obama deal. In order to attack Rhouhani, they paint him and his allies as puppets of the West. By claiming the US provided citizenship to many in Rhouhani's inner circle, it makes it look like Rhouhani is compromised.

  33. Good lord you can stop this act now. The last 2 seasons, you try and downlplay this superteam you decided to root for. At every turn, you break down this team like they are so flawed and vulnerable. They are going to sleepwalk to another title. They are the greatest team put together in the history. No one is going to give you sympathy.

  36. if Texas loses this game I expect tom to stop before he gets in the locker room and tell the reporters he understands his job is on the line and I expect him to name those responsible for the loss (no players all coaches) and I expect that he will say how long they have to correct their coaching before they are fired and I expect it will be the USC game at the longest That was a loss last year AT HOME to Maryland that had a coach in his second season and a Maryland team that won THREE other games besides the ass kicking they gave to Texas a Maryland team that hung 51 on Texas while giving up 41 and that had a 4 game streak to end the season where they did not score 51 points combined in those 4 games and another 3 game streak in the middle of the season where they did not score 51 points combined if Texas loses this game it means that the defense has totally gone in the shitter and that is unacceptable or it means the defense is either as good or better than last year (which was only actually GOOD in a few games, but that showed improvement over time) and the offense sucks such major dicks that they will never improve especially with the current coaching staff and that falls 1,000,000% on Tom because the offense is his gig or it means that somehow Charlie Strong is coaching the special teams for Texas while also at USF and that is really fucking unacceptable I do not want to hear bullshit about flow charts and stats sheets and special books and decision trees I expect to see improvement in all aspects of the game and especially offense and special teams with no let down on defense and if that is not apparent from game one and on I expect heads will roll before the end of the season and really before the half way mark of the season I realize these are pretty big expectations, but when you get ass raped by Maryland with a second year coach making $2.5 million a year AT HOME to start the season and that Maryland team only wins 3 other games (including a D1-AA game) the rest of the fucking season you better slaughter them to open the season the next year even more so at a neutral site that should have plenty of Texas fans in attendance.....all the more so when you make $5 million a year, you have your $10,000 lockers and you know the offense sucked dicks last year and you 100% stuck with your guy and your game plan while knowing that was questionable and knowing that it was questionable if you had the QBs to make that work add in the special teams and the overall coaching decisions (when you have Deloitte Anderson Cooper Touche Errwon and Young making your coaching decision skill set determinators and critical evaluations for you) and how badly that all sucked last year in many games and you better get that shit under control or you can mensa the fuck out of here
