This tweet got me thinking more about an underlying problem with our current state of partisan bullshit. Trumpkins and GOP hardliners, including those currently working in D.C., have absolutely zero expectations with Trump as a human being. Deep down they all know he is a piece of shit, but it truly doesn't matter to them. They don't care how the sausage is made, as long as they get their piece. On the flip side, they assume/expect liberals to be sincere and honest, and pounce when anything negative happens (Whataburger coke guy, Odessa waiter that lied about racism, etc.). I know Surly isn't a good barometer for national discourse, but all the Trump supporters on here disappear when something negative happens with Trump. Then they pop their heads in over one piece of "good" news or to disparage some "libtard" that went viral over some idiocy. In the current landscape, the majority of Republican voters hold liberals to a higher standard than themselves. It's so fucking pathetic.13 points

What about Dijon mustard? That was a scandal of the highest order. You sound completely out of touch. Either willingly because you can’t bear to come to grips with the fact you are a rube that was duped. Or you’re just stupid.7 points

I've been writing original music for the first time in years. It was kind of tough at first, but once the creative side of your brain wakes up its unreal. It's also helped me learn a ton on my guitars as I get a sound in my head and try to recreate it; or as you come up with something you really like then spend time trying to figure out what comes next, or try to incorporate a bridge that's more interesting than going to the IV. Sometimes, like the other night, I wrote something on my acoustic knowing in my head it was a crunchy electric part, then get inside and turn it up on the Les Paul and find out I was right. I'm always juggling between my acoustics, electrics, and my bass trying to get the parts and transitions together. Ive got about 3 songs written fairly complete, another 3 with the guitar parts written and maybe a verse or chorus, a SD Card full of riffs and ideas, along with a tablet full of written lines and ideas - including 2 verses I really like but can't find a melody for. It's been pretty rewarding so far, hopefully it's just a beginning. Current situation, as you know I've had to downsize quite a bit.6 points

I've never seen that before. That's amazing. Somebody please get that and screencap it and embed on aggypedia. It's aggy cognitive dissonance, in a can.. 1. It's Pawl 2. SEC didn't want aggy 3. SEC wanted Texas and pig out west, and in the east South Carolina + FSU/GaTech (SEC passed on Miami/Tulane/VaTech) 4. aggy lege cried on the floor of the lege to stop big brother from leaving without them 5. let me repeat... SEC DID NOT WANT aggy 6. if the timeline in the article is correct, it means groid bitched a fit to stop a conference move that we wanted twice in less than 3 years 7. twice 8. in 3 years 9. tell me again, after the way they behaved from 09 through 12, why do we let them have the AUF payment every year? 10. tell me again, why Longhorns in the lege have not put a constitutional amendment on the floor to cut them off forever? 11. they've passed us, right? so they don't need our money anymore, right? right?5 points

The Luc Mbah Moute vs Iggy debate is why there's a large group of people that despise the analytics community. This from someone that definitely sides with analytics. The funny thing is the same group of people using analytics as a justification for why Luc Mbah Moute is comparable to Iggy are the ones defending Melo. When almost every metric/analytic out there proves Melo is a trash player at this point of his career. Which is the biggest problem with analytics. People pick and choose random analytics they like and subjectively apply it to whatever fits their narrative. I probably do this so not really criticizing others.5 points

A disproportionate amount of coverage? Russia tried to rig an American election. That is proven fact. The guy who won is the guy they wanted to win. Did he know about it? Is it a coincidence that he's now groveling at Putin's feet and alienating all our NATO allies? I'm curious: which issues would you put "ahead" of the question: is the President of the United States a puppet of the Russian dictator?5 points

Despite conventional wisdom that Darrell Royal invented the Texas Wishbone Offense 50 years ago, it was actually Al Gore. As this surprisingly excellent ESPN article shows, the former VP's innovative offense is still influencing the college game today. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/24175747/texas-iconic-wishbone-offense-50-influential-college-football4 points

The part about Orlando "throwing no-hitters" and "calling a perfect game" was my favorite. TO is the main reason for my optimism going forward. Also, here's a pic of me and Breckyn's pops from the 80's:4 points

Y'all all need to get it through your head. Fuck them. They left. The SEC asked us on multiple occasions to join them. Time and again, we told them "No". Fuck them. We offered them a chunk of the Longhorn Network prior to it's conception. They said "Nobody is going to pay you millions for your tv network". Fuck them. They switch to a conference to be a middle of the road team, just like they were in the Big 12. Fuck them. They brag about playing in stadiums in Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, Gainesville, and get their shit pushed in time and again.... but...but... it's a packed house and Lawrence can only hold 40,000.... This is aggy: "We got a better job, we moved to a bigger house in a nicer subdivision and I actually like my neighbors even when they come over and raid my fridge, drink all my beer, fuck my wife, shit in my toilet and don't flush, and kick my dog on the way out. We love the SEC!!!" You took a spot in the SEC that was our sloppy seconds. There's a word that describes all this: CUCKOLD. Fuck them.4 points

And that's what is happening. You are attempting to require beyond a reasonable doubt levels of evidence when that's not how the court of public opinion works. We are somewhere past preponderance of the evidence and shy of ironclad smoking gun levels of proof. Preponderance of the evidence is a perfectly valid basis for forming an opinion.4 points
