Let's think about where the class could wind up. First number is what we have, and second number is what I think the final count will be at that position. QB 1 - perfect unless you're secretly a shill for Grant Tisdale TE 2 - 1 standout and a project with a great frame, awesome WR 3 (5) - I love the 3 commitments at this spot. I think they're going to wind up taking 5, if they can get the ones they want. In looking at the depth chart, either one of CJ or LJH going pro, or both, or Duvernay deciding to transfer, and the roster is suddenly extremely thin. Davion Curtis and Jordan Pouncey better be ballers. Brennan Eagles needs to figure out how to separate. All doable, but at some point if you lose 2 of the 3 Jrs, you begin relying on the premise that you're going to hit with a higher batting average than is plausible with the limited players on campus. Give me an oversigning here because math. In my heart, this is Higgins and Wright. In my head, I think there's an excellent shot it's someone like the dude from Round Rock and an emerging recruit from nowhere. OT 2 - If a senior emerges that looks like a take as a project, fine by me. Otherwise, I like where we're at here. OG (1) - After Rodas Johnson, I am not really sure what in the fuck we're doing here. It's bizarre. I choose to believe there's shit we're not seeing, which is likely with this staff, and we'll see some strong candidates emerge in the fall. There's non-senior depth on the roster, but that depth has question marks in varying forms, whether injury, want-to, or capability. I don't know, maybe you hope that the esteemed Lord Edgart Bonhomme Orgeron will burn Baton Rouge to the ground and the monster that ate Kardell Thomas looks around. OC (1) - Yeah, we need a fucking center in this class. I assume they find one. TB (1) - They need a back that could carry the load, and I will continue to believe it's Cain. I don't want to piss in anyone's Post Toasties, and this is for another day/thread, but Evans recruitment is going to be extremely complicated and I'd put us at very low odds, so getting Cain is a big deal. DT 1 (2) - Sweat is a DT at Texas. They've actually got a lot of youth on the roster here, so I'm not sweating, if you will, adding another guy, but I assume they will. They're still in it for some ballers at this spot, and Texas also produces emerging talent on the DL as seniors, it seems. DE 1 (2) - I don't know, man, I don't know if I like where things sit here. I have a hard time giving Giles the benefit of the doubt that this is going to be just great, too. LB 3 (4) - Some of you guys get twisted on the naming conventions and whether some LBs are actually DEs in Orlando's defense. Whatever. Add up the DE and LB takes then. I think Texas is about to have 3 commits at LB, and I think they get Owens who winds up being a LB but I list below as an ATH, and I think they ultimately get Gbenda and if not him, Cooper or a new sparkly senior riser. CB 2 - I like what they have, even if Watson becomes a safety. It's hard for me to believe they're in need of a 3rd guy here for this class. NB (1) - They need to land Catalon. S 1 (2) - I don't count Owens in this. I think they'll take one more and I don't think Cine is the one. Maybe it's a riser or Pola-Gates surprises us. ATH (1) - I can't really buy into capturing McCoy unless Helton totally implodes. I think they get Owens if they push for him. So that's 27 guys. I could see getting to 28 if they score a JUCO that they really like, or if they find a gem that they can't pass up, or LSU is lit afire. I could see them sitting at 25 because they don't think takes 26-28 could improve the roster. If that's the case, I'd guess we see 4 WRs and Owens is the other safety add and then Giles just whiffs somewhere.10 points

It's getting ridiculous. A friend of a friend who is 39 and dating a 23 year old was accosted at a restaurant recently by some drunk asshole calling him a pedophile. Completely ruined their ten year anniversary.10 points

Good on Swoopes. He was a good Longhorn. He did absolutely everything asked of him to the best of his abilities with varying results. That second overtime against Notre Dame was among of the best times I have have had watching the Horns in the last five years.9 points

He used to suck dick for drugs. He still does, but he used to, too. RIP Mitch Hedberg9 points

But did he sue the rodeo for $10 million and then become a politician and cap punitive damages at 7.5% of the amount he got for similar people in the future? Because if not, he did it wrong.7 points

Looking at the picture, it's an overloaded boat, at significant risk of capsizing, with no captain asserting a unifying command, and anyone with an oar is paddling in their own direction, without any clear direction or purpose. It really is the perfect snapshot of this admin.6 points

Lol who gives a fuck. Every 9-10 months, this convo comes up we got our own goddamn channel. And we are bitching about it. Jfc guys 1) We get to see games that literally no other school gets to televise/fanbase gets to see. Basketball and baseball games most importantly 2) We get to see re-runs of badass classic games 3) We have our own channel 4) Programs like 1963 and From Grit to Glory are fantastic 5) We get 15 million a year for 30 years 6) We have our own goddamn channel 7) We get to see re-runs of our football game that week, incase anyone misses the original broadcast but please, keep bitching. The positives greatly outweigh the negatives. Bitching about having our.own.motherfucking.channel. is the perfect microcosm of how arrogant and entitled our fanbase has become. I personally love the channel, but I also actually, ya know, follow our sports teams , root for our sports teams, and like to watch their games.6 points

Lowell Galindo is *literally* the worst pxp/cc man in the business. The absolute worst. He's apparently a nice guy but he is a traveshamockery doing in-game broadcasts. He treats games like studio shows, asking long, rambling, inane questions, starting and persisting with trivial conversations and arguments during game play, and insisting on using modern slang and asinine nicknames for all of the players. I can't describe how much I hate him when he's on my TV. This is goddamn Texas; the bar has been set: Ron Franklin, Bill Schoening, Craig Way; these are standard at Texas. Lowell Galindo is a fucking clown, a milquetoast yes man, and a reported jock sniffer who brags about the people he knows irl. He is the absolute worst, and the people who've decided to make him the face of the network need to be exiled to a desert island filled with hundreds of TV's, incessantly blaring Lowell Galindo programs 24/7, no commercials. A punishment that fits the crime. I'd rather watch Ric Renner and Dave South announce a meat judging contest than listen to another second of Lowell Galindo.6 points

Vic Mackey special getting married at each commercial break hasn't exactly helped matters. On a serious note, why can't they show old UT games 24/7? I'm not talking about the Rose Bowl, OU, Arky, or aggy games... just random stuff like the "75 Tech game or something. Or '92 TX v Utah bball game? Just random stuff. I'd watch this before I'd watch6 points

When this is all said and done, all I ask is that everyone who voted Trump be forced to wear a MAGA hat for 1 day. A national day where everyone who voted Trump MUST wear the hat.5 points

Jesus Christ, this thread is a light for all the commie-wing moths. How many times does it have to be pointed out to you all that we don't want the Nordic and German model? Point me in the direction that wealth disparity is the source of many of the problems we face? Other than your envy I mean.5 points

I read "Where The Sidewalk Ends" after taking a bunch shrooms while sitting on a boulder in the middle of the Medina river on a hunting trip my sophomore year. I also declared myself a river god and fired off a few rounds from my Colt 1911 after finishing Silverstein's children's book. It was a great trip, the hunting trip was good too.4 points

Banning 3D printed gun schematics isn't really a good precedent to set. It's essentially the government saying "this information is too dangerous for the people to see" which is concerning on its own, but also it's incongruous with previous precedent both digitally and physically for information on how to make dangerous devices. The anarchist's cookbook gives you simple steps on how to make very dangerous devices. There's all sorts of army manuals out in the public domain. There's gunsmithing books and manuals that provide a step-by-step guide on how to make guns. Why should 3D printed gun schematics be treated any differently just because they use a novel tool to construct them?4 points

Go fuck yourself if you have a problem with the LHN. I don't live close to Austin so it allows me to watch a ton of sports I normally wouldn't get to see. I get 30 baseball games a year, 10-15 basketball games, women's basketball, volleyball with tight shorts and great asses, and softball. I would see none of that without the LHN. No other school in the country can say that. On top of sports it sometimes shows academic stuff that I never even knew about. If for no other reason it is awesome simply because it provides money not only to sports but also to the academic side of the school. The channel was never intended to spread the Longhorn message to outsiders. It is a tool to provide the alumni base and fans of UT with content centered around their university that they otherwise would have no access to.4 points

I don’t think it’s really a shot and saying he looked like a bitch is ridiculous. I think he really liked UT and was being brutally honest, similar to how we criticize our own program all the time. And the things we say are often worse.3 points

Agreed, because he's definitely thinking of guys that played under the current staff. So those guys he's thinking of are super relevant. What's relevant is that he knows Meyer's staff can develop him into a star because that's been proven. Talking about how Texas doesn't develop players as if late-era Mack Brown has anything to do with how he'd be developed is asinine.3 points

Columbus Day is bad right? In the same vein, is there a case to be made that all Spanish influence should be wiped from our history too because the invading Spaniards were totally wack to the Mayans and shit. Or do their atrocities get a pass because they aren't considered "white." Or are they considered "white?" There are at least European and European colonizers were bad. Whether you get a deep, rich tan or whether you burn in the sun seems to be he deciding factor here. But Columbus was Italian and they tan pretty good too. I'm gonna need a millennial with at least 12 college credits to make a definitive judgement on this.3 points
