"Dear Buckeye Nation, Although it's taken several days, the University and I may have found a way for me to continue as coach. Football is the THE priority at THE Ohio State University. We will soon let you know who will be scapegoated. Outsiders will not be happy, but continue to circle the wagons. Sincerely, Urban"18 points

1. Opinion piece. Others in media called him out, as even your hack piece notes. 2. Corrected. 3. Corrected. 4. Corrected. 5. Corrected. 6. Retracted, reporters all fired. 7. Corrected, reporter suspended and later fired. and on and on.... In contrast to 55 media mistakes that were largely corrected and led to several reporters being fired, Trump is now up to 4,229 lies in just a year and a half as president: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2018/08/01/president-trump-has-made-4229-false-or-misleading-claims-in-558-days/ I can't recall any that were corrected, and Trump has not lost his job. So, there is absolutely no comparison to be made.15 points

I would say that people continue to misunderstand the difference and the relationships between the national economy (unemployment, GDP) and federal fiscal position (budget, deficit). I think the government has a very strong direct effect on the fiscal position, and a rather indirect, slow effect on the economy. And while the economy is currently doing well, it is because 1) it is following the direction it has been for the last six years, 2) it is doing so at the expense of the fiscal position (the tax cut stimulus is stimulating, but at a cost of revenue.) The fact that the economy is doing so well but the fiscal position has gotten worse should be sending off huge, flashing warning signs with blaring sirens. Eventually, the economy will cycle down. There is nothing in the several hundred years of economic history which would suggest otherwise. And when it does, tax revenue will drop. What's more, not only is the fiscal position deteriorating because of lower revenue, the economic improvement is speeding us along into another major fiscal concern: the interest on the debt. The hot economy will drive the Feds to raise rates to avoid inflation. That increases our interest payments. Trump alluded to this concern in a tweet a few weeks ago. As the debt grows, and the interest on that debt grows. It is projected that in five years the interest on debt will exceed our military spending. Think of whatever irresponsible, bad with money, power-company-going-to-turn-out-their-lights-if-they-don't-make-their-payment friend or relatives. Now realize that we, collectively, as a country, are worse. So get the fuck out of here with gloating about a 3.9 unemployment rate compared to 4.1. I don't give a shit. It's noise. We're like junkies bragging about a high. It isn't sustainable and we're not too big to fail. Blog on debt interest Article on debt interest12 points

Y’all do what you want. I think he’s a whiny bitch and don’t want to ever see him associated to Texas again. He was fucking poison on the team last year and he put himself over the program again a few weeks ago, in public. That shit has been screenshot and sent to every recruiting target we’re in on for the next 3 classes. Fuck that selfish shithead. Some of you guys that have short memories and fungible loyalties should refocus your attention to the NFL and NBA. You may not be cut out for this little “the program is bigger than any player or coach” notion as a supporter for college teams.10 points

What you're not hearing is a president who delights in rousing anger and resentment against not only the institutions on which our country is based but the individuals associated with them. He has harnessed the hate engine that the right created to generate votes to generate irrational hate of things and people we all need. The racism is more than troublesome. The lying matters to some people, but maybe honesty isn't your thing as long as you have a job and steel-belted radials on the Buick. Lastly, I don't think you would even recognize the end of the republic so long as you were content with your income and that you were not on the list of people persecuted by the state. The Roman republic did not sink into a hole in the ground with Rome disappearing forever. It went on for centuries as the mercy of tyrants some of whom were enlightened and others who were narcissistic sadists sure that they were themselves gods. But ignore history. Abandon principle. Turn your back on fellow citizens. You got a job, man!9 points

I'm going to go ahead and answer this as if you weren't "just asking questions" and are actually interested in a response. Trump's economic and trade policies are retarded. The consequences of his lunacy are yet to be even marginally realized. I am confident things are about to get worse, because he's too stupid to just stay the course and ride the gravy train he was gifted. Regardless, my concerns about Trump's economic policies pale in comparison with my concerns that the wipes his ass with the Constitution on a daily basis, couldn't tell the truth if you paid him $1B to do so, and is an absolute moron with zero knowledge of history or law or international relations and he's jacking off all over the globe. The consequences of his foreign "policy" are potentially grave. The consequences to our system of government are absolutely dire.9 points

A private immigration bill pending just for his wife? What makes her so worthy? From the article: "His wife first tried to enter the U.S. illegally in May 1998 by falsely claiming to a Customs and Border Patrol agent that she was an American citizen. Juarez admitted she is Mexican and said she was interrogated by agents and unwittingly signed paperwork to avoid six months at a federal detention center in exchange for being immediately released to return to Mexico. It turned out she had signed a waiver that bans her future rights to a permanent resident card, visa or a path to naturalized citizenship. Juarez briefly returned to Mexico but soon crossed over into the U.S. unnoticed. She and Temo married in 2000 and settled down in Central Florida. Temo said he knew his wife could eventually be deported if she was caught." .......So, she's a repeat offender who lied to border agents. Her only worthiness for an exception is that this" super conservative" married her. This is modern conservativism — freedom for me to do what I want, but not for others in the same situation who I don't care about.8 points

Shelley and I knew in 2009 and we counseled them. They were a young couple. I knew again in 2015 and I reported it like I was supposed to. I accidentally lied about this 3 years later because I didn’t expect to be asked about it. Even though I knew he beat her in 2009 and again 6 years later, I kept him employed for over 9 years. I have a mom, a wife, and 2 daughters. I respect women but not enough to fire Zach Smith.6 points

This. We expect him to know what the fuck his assignment is and to not shit himself every three or four plays. Do that and it will be a big step up from where we were last year.6 points

I don't understand circling the wagons to protect coaches/staff/players who are legally or ethically in the wrong. If this type of ordeal happened at Texas, I would want Bellmont to sever all ties with the people involved. I don't care how much value someone provides from a sports standpoint, it isn't worth having the university's reputation permanently damaged and having my alma mater become a punchline for domestic violence, rape, pedo jokes, etc. This type of thing can unfortunately happen anywhere. I think the public can largely forgive an institution and its fans if they feel the institution did everything possible to cut the cancer out. People are not forgiving when it appears the institution (or a large percentage of the fans) makes attempts to protect the people involved (see: Baylor, Pedo St).6 points

So in 2009when his life coach talked her into not pressing charges, he was respecting women and core values? By having his cronies talk her out of it, he probably committed her to almost a decade of abuse. Her life could have been different from that point in time forward. Yeah, I drank the kool aid when we were winning but the wheels started falling off the bus at UF in 2007. That’s when we learned what comes out of his mouth is not always (or usually) the truth. From T9, it applies to all students, parents, and faculty/staff, not just if it is a student and not just if it is on campus. Third parties have rights extended to them when the accused is a member of the university community. So since Smith was on staff and was alleged to have been committing relationship abuse to a third party, it needed to be reported and could have been since both Urbs and his wife are both employees of OSU and Urbs is likely classified as a mandatory reporter since he's in the management role. Here's OSU's actual policy guide if it helps the debate: OSU Sexual Misconduct5 points

This one is personal for me as I worked for him when I was assigned to the DIA. I briefed him, his CSM, and their support staff on our report before it went to Congress in 2009. I dont care that he is working with Mueller and his team; he betrayed his oath to the Constitution and the men and women who served under him. What he did is unforgivable and I have nothing but contempt for him. If he were on fire, I wouldn't even piss on him to save his life.5 points

Yes, but there’s enough information to conclude he’s either a traitor or insanely stupid. Pence was hand picked by Manafort to be Trump’s VP. Pence was head of the Trump transition team and oversaw the installation of Mike Flynn as National Security Advisor despite being warned in writing just days after the election that Flynn was basically compromised by foreign governments. He would then lie about his knowledge of Flynn’s conflicts of interest. He also lied about interactions with Russians and members of the Trump campaign. https://democrats-oversight.house.gov/sites/democrats.oversight.house.gov/files/documents/2016-11-18.EEC to Pence.pdf If he’s not a traitor, he’s a treacherous idiot and there’s not much difference.4 points
