I got that guitar in high school sometime in '93. My family went into the Guitar Center on Westheimer in Houston and out of the blue dad asked which of the guitars was my favorite. Without hesitation I pointed at the Flying V. It was $1700, but it might as well have been $17,000,000. It was just my favorite, not anything I even contemplated owning, our family didn't have $1700 guitar money. Dad walked over to the salesman and after a few minutes the guy drags the ladder over, climbs up, and brings the most beautiful glossy midnight black Flying V down and my heart started doing backflips. Dad looks at me and says, "You better play it. A lot." I might have started breakdancing right there in the middle of the store. Dad had never done anything like that before and hasn't done anything like that since, for me or himself. I found out later the guitar wasn't paid off for several years after. It was a strain for him for some time, though he never let me know that. I don't sell things. I like to collect things or I might just be a run-of-the-mill hoarder. Who knows. What I do know is I'm not selling that guitar. Not THAT guitar.11 points

Hugo, the disconnect here is it seems that this is all a game to you. You enjoy the political gamesmanship going on, the Russia angle, pumping up "woke" Republicans, trolling of Republicans, etc. The rest of us are sick of all of this shit. No more half measures. Fuck all of these Republicans and Democrats talking tough while sitting on their hands. Anyone "on the fence" at this point can fuck right off. We will applaud ACTION, not rhetoric.8 points

Shit, Herman was telling anyone who would listen before last season that that team was going to win 10+ games. The assistant coaches were doing the same. Recruits heard it. I'm guessing it was framed to players in some form too. They were getting high huffing those homegrown farts. It's weird, but when you: -beat the fuck out of your team during the high Texas heat as physically as possible for an entire August and -put a dumbfuck with no pedigree in charge of the offensive line and let him de-optimize the personnel arrangement and -put a hipster fucktard in charge of your most talented offensive unit and let him openly shout down and humiliate that unit in front of the team daily and -put a mouthbreathing troglodyte in charge of the overall offensive planning and playcalling and -publicly marginalize your most prominent defensive leader and -constantly question the talent and desire of all of the upperclass talent on the team and -focus everyone on piss color and -force half the team to eat purposely shitty food every day and -not spend one fucking day prepping or planning for your week one opponent ... then you might wind up looking overrated and overconfident.7 points

Hahahahahaha. You cannot be serious? Nahlin has been making shit up and stating it as fact for a good long while, at this point. It's so obvious that all of the $9.95ers are disconnected from access to the program that it's almost painful, if not hilarious. At least Nahlin talks to recruits. Same for the TFB guys. Orangebloods is pure trash with laughably bad recruiting and team coverage, and Holland is in the tank with street agents at 247 and his dumbass doesn't understand it. These guys have nothing coming to them from the staff or extensions of the staff on anything, and may that please last.6 points

Or voting against the agenda instead of being a little whiny bitch. Sorry Hugo, your Jeff Flake mancrush is seriously whack. The dude has had 20 months of opportunities to stall or vote against the agenda, especially with McCain out and thus a 50-49 Senate majority. Bob Corker and Jeff Flake are the worst kind of elected Republicans. The rest may be all talk no action, but Corker and Flake are more like ALL THE BITCHING and still no action. History won't be kind to the 2 who retired for being vocally anti-Trump when their voting records say otherwise (83% with Trump)6 points

You are a regular follower to right wing AM radio and fox news. You, your family, your coworkers, all your friends are Trumpkins. Stop trying to act like you're rational. All of you voted for him, you support him daily, I don't wish any ill on you personally, but hopefully your myopic bubble gets needle popped at some point soon and we can move this planet forward.6 points

Neonmoon was just criticizing Mehringer and that is entirely warranted. Jake Smith was a Beck recruitment, he barely ever even mentioned Mehringer, and a sack of potatoes could've recruited Whitington here, he is a major Texas fan, there hasn't been a bigger layup since Ehlinger. The misses have far outweighed the makes. I'm starting to understand why CTJ gets driven up the wall about this, Mehringer does not warrant any defending.5 points

That’s a tone deaf rally. It’s a group of adults who made signs to support a guy currently involved in a scandal, where the best case scenario is that he ignored ongoing domestic violence within his organization for 6 years. All because football.5 points

That’s no transitive property. I witnessed Bob Stoops go upside his head multiple times yet Mack just curled up in the fetal position year after year. All I could conclude is that he liked it.5 points

"This camp is already different than any of the three previous practice blocs Herman has held in that I'm already hearing some positives about the offense." Ah, there it is. This time, it's different. This time its more intense! This time, the coaches are coaching better! Just complete and total crap all of this is.5 points

The fact that someone's reaction over losing a middling DT to another school who probably isn't good enough for a Texas scholarship to begin with should really be indicative of how bad our recruiting at DT sits currently.4 points

Yeah, if you weren't doing better in 2016 than you were in 2008, that's your problem, barring health issues and what not. I got tired of hearing rich people bemoan the Obama economy when they tripled their wealth during those eight years.4 points

Rex Kramer mixes a combination of utter ignorance about the sport of football, condescension without reason, and a total lack of self-awareness. There’s no value in taking anything he posts seriously. I mean, he’s very serious, but he’s also clueless. Not worth the bullet.4 points

Jesus. This is so wrong. I’ll try to put this in terms you can understand, as it was put to a large national meeting of banking and financial services executives by Gen. Michael Hayden a few months ago. I happened to be in the room. There is a “big kids table” of powerful, prosperous, stable nations. The United States is at the table. The big European powers of Germany and France sit at that table. So does the UK, Japan, China, Canada and others. Russia does not have a seat. Her economic power and political influence are shrinking, and her politics are becoming less stable and certain. Russia sits at the little kids table. Russia can’t join the big kids table as long as it is ruled by a kleptocratic oligarchy and has such a limited economic base. So each night, Putin goes around to the big kids table and saws just a little bit off the legs of the chairs. Not to elevate Russia, but to bring powerful, stable countries down to its level. Thus, Russia’s reputation is enhanced by bending the direction of great nations towards itself. It’s not only an advantage for people to think they did it; its essential to the strategy.4 points
