  1. For many of us who demand his removal from the office, it is because we respect the office, whereas he has zero respect for it whatsoever.

  2. How dare We The People be informed about what his happening inside the White House. Excuse me -- OUR White House. I own that bitch, motherfucker. You got that? Look on the fucking deed -- the office and the building belong to We The People. You don't get to hide shit from us. If you want to do that, then return to your pathetic private sector life. I'll help you pack.

  4. Think about the differences here: Brett McMurphy is a sports journalist who broke this story and backed it up with photos, text message screenshots, and facts. He’s done actual investigative journalism. Every time the tOSU camp tries to downplay the situation, McMurphy comes in hard with legit info to the contrary. As far as sources go, it’s entirely possible that Courtney Smith or someone close to her is his source. Jeff Snook is a tOSU grad fanboy posing as a journalist, who first attempted to discredit the victim by writing a story about her mom (Tina Carano) siding with Zach. This angle is later undermined by screenshots of text messages between Tina and Zach where Tina accuses Zach of basically everything he’s allegedly done. Jeff Snook then drops a tweet about Tom Herman being the source, but in over 24 hours, Snook has done nothing to back up this claim. It’s a desperate smear attempt with no basis in reality. If Herman is the source, then please explain how Tom Herman provided screenshots of all these text messages and of Courtney’s injuries. We’re waiting, Jeff. One of these guys is a journalist. One of these guys is a fraud.

  5. I know we are past the part of the thread where we talk about how we grew up Republican but I’m going to chime in (again). As a child, I had one Democrat in the family if you include extended family on both sides. Rush was always on the radio. Democrats hate America and Jesus and want to take all your money. Needless to say, I was a Republican through college. Voted in every major election but not straight ticket. I went through and voted against the democrats when there was no Republican opponent. Then I graduated from college and started working as a teacher in 2007. I continued to listen to politicians and talk radio about how liberal teachers were indoctrinating the kids and never taught reading or math. It didn’t jive with what I saw on a daily basis. I saw teachers busting their asses and spending their own money on their kids/classrooms. I saw the “lazy liberal teachers just in it for the pension” adopting their students or raising money to help with medical bills. The parking lot always had cars in it on sundays with teachers working to get ready for the week. When I turned on talk radio in the car on the way home I started to get pissed about the lies. Then came the funding cuts. My medium sized district depleted their savings and had to cut 27 million in one year. No stone was unturned with admin and teachers losing jobs. Many single teachers or two teacher families require second jobs. Hell, I still drive for Uber. Then Perry said to look at the superintendents and not him. I still voted republican because of other issues. Then came dan Patrick. My wife and I became reliable democrats and disowned the Republican Party. He was the last straw. Then came trump. We became democrat donors as well as voters. Getting older and having more real world experience made me much more liberal. tldr: fuck Texas Republicans, I ain’t goin back.

  6. Here's that selfishness I told you about before. Here you basically make the following claim: "We are the military, we are tough, we protect you every day! We like the current POTUS because we think he pays us more and gives us less work and also doesn't make us actually fight in any war. So basically I claim we're tough soldiers but what I like is to have more pay, less work, and not actually worry about being sent into battle." And later you'll cry about millennials while telling us all about your backbone and tremendous sacrifice I'm sure.

  13. Except it doesn't, because you mostly vote Republican, and it isn't both sides either because Democrats have been better on fiscal policy at the national level for your and my entire life. The only notable exception to that was the best president of my life, George HW Bush, who many Republicans basically abandoned because he led a policy of cutting spending and raising taxes when fiscal reality required it.

  22. Ted is a conservative Hillary. His entire existence is defined by political ambition, and so he will follow any political breeze if it helps his career. He doesn't stand for anything except furthering his own career. He's exactly the kind of person in Washington you can't trust, and shouldn't want, representing you.

  23. I do wonder about this. There''s a pretty fair amount of "I just don't give a shit" when it comes to social hot-button issues. Gay, straight, black, hispanic, whatever -- I just don't give a shit. I can't imagine giving a shit. It's kinda hard to imagine what other "social conservative" hot-button issues there will be in the future that haven't been addressed. Be who you are. Don't be a fucking dick to other people. Period. I think that's becoming a more broadly governing ethos, which is going to make it hard to rile up folks as future social conservatives. What do you want me to get pissed about, again? Some dude wants to be addressed as She-unicorn? Whatever. I think it's stupid, but I also think that wearing Uggs in the summer is stupid, glitter-coated bass boats are stupid, truck nuts are stupid, etc. etc. But it all falls into the "I don't give a shit" bucket. And I've turned LESS socially conservative over the last 20 years, mostly because I've seen folks who hold socially conservative positions using their beliefs to be mean dicks to other people. And while I may not be the most sophisticated fella in the world, I know that I don't cotton to folks being mean dicks. For my kids, it's even more so. My daughter rolls her eyes when another one of her classmates wants to be addressed as "she-unicorn" or what have you, but it's not even a speed bump in her thinking. And we say this as a Christian family -- their mom and I are the products of Catholic education. She's a pastor. Our kids have been raised in the church, and have gone to Christian summer camps. Granted, our faith tradition is pretty averse to the fundagelical bullshit that dominates the GOP, but still.

  24. I grew up a Reagan Republican as a kid. I voted for Clayton Williams, Bush Sr, Dole, Bush Jr for Gov, Bush Jr for President and then largely Democrats ever since based solely on the issue of fiscal responsibility. but I dont vote straight ticket. The Republican party as presently constituted is disgustingly stupid and offensive to anyone who is a moral, responsible, caring, family, patriotic oriented person. I don't get it at all. We benefited from Ryan/Trump's tax cuts but to what end? What did we give up to save a little in taxes? Our integrity? Our promise and responsibility to provide a better nation for our kids and grandkids? No thank you. We have 5 kids. We will be adding 2 more votes for the Dems this Fall. The other 3 will join when they are able to vote. We are active in Beto's campaign and actively encourage our kids to serve their community and get involved. They have embraced our activism and are taking it to the next level. Times are a changing...

  28. The classic pre-existing condition that is missed in pre-participation physicals and leads to death is IHSS. There are a few other less commonly occurring ones as well, like congenital instability or stenosis of the c-spine. The circumstances as reported in this case do not correlate with any of the usual suspects. They sound like a person exerting physically, overheating, becoming symptomatic, and not receiving appropriate treatment until too late. All of what I described can occur in fit, healthy athletes in 80 degree weather in under an hour. If you were an expert, you would know this. A half-decent trainer would know this. The only thing that can come to light to absolve training staff in this case is that there was, in fact, no delay between seeing his distress and getting Jordan help. A seizure on the field is a life-threatening emergency until proven otherwise. If any actual MD has an opinion to the contrary, feel free to speak up. If any armchair docs wish to expose their ignorance, they are welcome to pipe up as well. This is what we refer to in our peer review meetings as a clean kill.

  36. There's something to this. The GOP had a legitimate attraction as a party of some fiscal responsibility. They've managed to disabuse every remotely sane person of that notion. The fact that they are doing so in favor of a brand of pure narcissism and xenophobia just makes the choice that much clearer. I grew up mostly voting GOP. Now, I can't imagine either of my kids ever casting a vote for a GOP candidate. And I won't be doing so for the foreseeable future, either. Sure, just one data point. But I think we're seeing something really significant with respect to the GOP. It used to be a party that, by virtue of its platform, drew a lotta support from old white folks. Now, it's a party that shamelessly appeals to the very worst of old white folks' nature, and not much else.
