SInce y'all seem to be my clearinghouse for all things political, let me tell a story. A couple of them, actually. Three, if you want to be specific. When I was 14 I went with a family friend to visit some of her relatives out of state in a very small Southern town. One of them was a 30 year old man married to my friend's 19 year old sister. My friend and I spent a week there by ourselves. I spent the whole week trying, not always successfully, to keep the 30 year old from shoving his hand down my shirt. While I was awake, while I was asleep. Anytime no one was around. This was well before the days of cell phones and my choices were to tell my 14 year old friend or her 19 year old sister. I did neither. I still feel the horror, the shame, the embarrassment, and the powerlessness to this day. What I remember most is sleeping in my heaviest nightgown with two heavy blankets over me in the heat of the summer in the deep South in a house without A/C. That is, when I slept at all. I spent most of each night waiting for that hand. When I was 20 I went with my boyfriend and his roommates to 6th Street on Halloweeen. I dressed as Billy Gibbons. Much drunken flirting and hilarity ensued. Somewhere in the crush, my boyfriend got separated and so his roommates and I took a cab back to his place. His roommates raped me. I was so drunk that I don't remember much about it except that I kept trying to turn over to stop them, but either I was too drunk or I was being held down. Now that I think about it, turning over probably wouldn't have done any good anyway, if you know what I mean. When I told my boyfriend about it the next day, he accused me of fucking them deliberately and kicked me out. Apparently flirting and drinking with roommates means I want to fuck them. I didn't tell anyone else. What would have been the point? There was no proof and no witnesses. "Date rape" wasn't even a concept then. Being raped meant by a stranger at gunpoint, knifepoint, or at least fistpoint. Fast forward more decades than I care to admit. I'm a successful business owner. I'm doing better than I ever dreamed. I make obscene amounts of money and I've got an agreement in place to sell my business in 3 years for a humongous payout. I spent 2013 bald and puking and kicked cancer to the curb, never to look back. I'm a published songrwiter and I've been involved in the Austin music scene for a long time. I do volunteer work. I'm happily married, have a nice house in one of the greatest cities in the world, and by all accounts, a great life. But this morning I feel, in turns, 14 and 20 years old. I'm being touched and violated against my will. And no one cares, no one believes me, and I'm being publicly mocked and scorned by the leader of this country and his disgusting minions. I should have said something. I should have done something. I shouldn't have drank. I shouldn't have flirted. I shouldn't have dressed up as Billy Gibbons with a fake beard and a cardboard guitar. I shouldn't have gone out of state with my friend at age 14 for a vacation from my parents. I'm nothing. My credentials don't matter, my credibility doesn't exist, and I'm just some skank trying to use something that certainly didn't happen, and, well, if it did, then it's my fault, to help the evil liberals bring down the poor persecuted conservatives. I guarantee you I'm not the only woman you know who feels this way today. Just keep it in mind, OK?61 points

A few interesting things to watch or note: -There's a good shot one of the guys Texas circles back on will be Preston Wilson, an interior OL prospect out of Argyle, and currently committed to Okie State. https://247sports.com/Player/Preston-Wilson-46040252/ -There's a good shot that another guy that garners real interest is OT prospect Tyler Miterko out of Carlsbad, NM. He's also an Okie State commit but has UT ties. https://247sports.com/player/taylor-miterko-46040601/ -Y'all tell me if these #'s have been reported for David Gbenda, but at one of the big camps, he was 6'0" without shoes, at 213 lbs. Can easily carry 225-235 and has abnormally long arms for his size with a 77 inch wingspan and almost 10 inch hands. Those are big measurables for an LB. He's laterally really quick for his size, too. He had a 4.35 shuttle. The LB takes of Gbenda and Tillman in this class will either highlight that the staff is really, really good at evaluating, or we've been sniffing our own farts on this board. I lean/hope towards the former. -The Tyler Owens time in the hundred that's been getting a lot of run was not electronically timed or it was wind-aided, can't remember which. He ran something like 10.85 in the next round of track meets. It's nothing to be down on him about, but this isn't a guy with Adrian Colbert's speed. His senior tape is night and day to prior years. He looked like Tarzan and played like Jane up until this season. This is more good work by the staff and he'll move up in the rankings. He could easily project into the Jason Hall role or a full spin down to LB, either of which is fine in Orlando's defense. -The Iowa State JUCO commit is allegedly considered a high priority. A visit ahead of December would be a surprise. Credit to ISU for putting in the early evaluation work here. He's also allegedly a December graduate. -Sanders is going to Alabama. -Ignore the Barton Simmons stupidity about Washington. Texas and Ohio State will happily take the guy. He was hurt and ran some bad numbers and the dipshits involved with this stuff have decided that his camp times matter more than anything else. He's 3 inches shorter with the same skill set as Collin Johnson. Whether he winds up at UT or not, he's a good prospect. -Gabriel Hall out of Waller might get another look too. -The number is 25 and could go to 27 if some crazy shit happens. -I do not think it behooves those who follow this stuff to put any value on Shepherd as a commitment. Texas is going to bring in 3 more OLs if I had to guess. -When Demas winds up at FB Marshall, it should confirm to you that it is time to light the cigarettes on that recruitment, along with Hornsby's, because those recruitments have already been fucked. -Grad transfer/new transfer world is going to be just like recruiting. Doing it really well will separate the wheat from the chaff and everybody worth a shit knows it. Might be time to just straight up view that stuff as its own level of recruiting each year.25 points

I don’t understand why Trumpkins feel the loathing directed at them has anything to do with a difference of political views. You are loathed because of the difference in our views regarding morality, ethics, human rights, good and evil. There are plenty of thoughtful and reasoned conservatives that I admire, respect and value the opinion of. None of them align themselves with Trump.16 points

As somebody from the enemy side, I agree completely that the key for UT is to play ball control. Army almost beat us with that approach (and should have won, honestly) and Baylor did it well, too. Baylor's problem was that OU"s offense demolished them, but Texas has a far superior D. I know some of you have mixed feelings about Sam, but he's very capable of dinking and dunking down the field against OU"s atrocious defense (both passing and running), which can't get anybody off the field. That's the major worry from the OU side. The ewok as you call him (yeah, he looks like one) is electrifying, but even great offenses can be slowed down, as UT has shown against OU more than a few times recently. I would argue that UT's biggest worry is OU jumping out to a fast lead. It happened last year and UT clawed back, but it wouldn't be smart to repeat that pattern. Other thoughts: --OU's offensive line isn't as good as last year; in fact, it's only so-so in general. --OU's receivers are really fucking fast, but they're small. UT will want to leverage the size advantage against the QB and WRs. OU killed Baylor by getting Hollywood and CeeDee into open spaces. Watch for the tunnel screen to Hollywood--if he gets space he'll shoot into the open field. --The loss of Rodney Anderson has been huge. Sermon is a force, but he needs space to get going. He's a good receiver, though. Kennedy Brooks emerged last week, but he has virtually no PT under his belt. --OU's defense is exactly as bad as you imagine, worse probably. Ronnie Perkins is legit, but he's a freshman. Bookie hasn't been as good as Stearns. Motley is feast or famine (usually famine). DTs are meh. Kenneth Murray is physically gifted, but still sometimes misses assignments. Big receivers have killed OU, so if Johnson is serious on Saturday he could be in for a huge day. I wish everybody a safe trip this weekend.13 points

Does it blow anyone else’s mind as they read this thread to know that Icono, who is of Persian decent I believe, wears tailored counterfeit NFL jerseys, was a serious drug attic who literally S’d the D for drugs /Bob Saget (NTTIAWWT), and is now quoting scripture is supporting Trump hardcore and acting like he is rational, level headed and of sound mind? Or is it just me? This shit is wild. People are insane.8 points

Reminds me of something my grandpappy used to say "you can coach speed and size, but you can't coach heart" He also called the guy who mowed the lawn the n-word, so maybe we shouldn't listen to everything my grandpappy says.8 points

Holy hell if I counted the times I've been groped in clubs...well I might have an easier time counting the stars. Yeah, I know, I played guitar in a rock band, I dressed like a slut, I sang dirty lyrics, blah blah blah. Yeah it's the lack of respect that is the worst. I was brought up to do and be anything I wanted, never mind the fact that I am a female. I have a very strong, very ahead-of-his-time father, who absolutely would not let me put up with any shit from any stupid stinking men. I was instructed to kick them in the balls, figuratively for sure and literally if needed, and stand up for myself and do what I wanted. I think it's no accident that my profession and avocations are all in male-dominated areas, nor is it an accident that my sister is a surgeon, a job that is still a bastion of men. But today none of that matters. Today I'm less. Because I my privates go in rather than out. I guess I should mention the good guys. My dad. My husband. One of my two brothers. They guy who almost took my virginity until I chickened out at the last minute and I was so embarrassed and apologetic, and he said it was ok and then took me out and bought me french fries at McDonald's. I'm ashamed that I don't even remember his name (told y'all, I'm old AF). I know y'all are out there. But today you don't matter. I'm sorry to have to say that, but nothing much does matter today. I'm having to force myself through work, which involves finalizing a financial plan for someone who has jillions of dollars. I may have to actually take some time off today and reschedule our meeting. I can see it now. "Hello, Mr. XXX, I'm sorry I have reschedule our appointment. You see, I'm having a mini-breakdown today brought on by past sexual trauma that is resurfacing because of the political atmosphere in this country". Yeah, that will go over great. Actually this client is a gay man so he might be a little more sympathetic than I would think. But seriously. I know most of y'all are assholes n shit but you are helping me today. Thank you.8 points

So in the span of what---36 hours?--POTUS ripped a female reporter in a press conference with his "I know you don't think...you never think" remark THEN doubles-down and mocks another woman's testimony of her sexual assault. Surprised he hasn't followed up with his lie of getting 52% of the women's vote yet. I will raise a glass & toast the day this vile, sexist, racist piece of shit is six feet under. He's nothing but a shit stain on our country's history.8 points

I can't count the number of times I have started writing out a response to one of Chrispy's posts, only to remember that it's Chrispy I would be responding to, and thus any response is ultimately pointless. Gotta be triple digits at this point. I should make better use of the ignore function.7 points

A woman I love has had bad experiences with men close to her and the type of sexual harassment along the lines to which Troph alludes. My naivete has been rocked by the metoo movement. My rage has been roused by the easy dismissal many men in power or on this board give to accounts of forced physical contact up to actual rape. I quote this part of your posts because in it is the aspect of these stories that amazes me. So very many women haven't shut their hearts to men altogether. Good guys still get a chance even after numerous bad guys have preceded them. This reflects such an admirable resilience, strength, and positivity in women. In you. In my beloved. I cannot understand persons who call themselves men standing by or joining in on an assault on the physically vulnerable. I am outraged that institutions (Baylor, Trump Whitehouse, TV News) have made it part of business to allow this. I've never used my imposing size and strength to bully anybody. I wasn't raised to do that. Still, I apologize for not knowing more about this and believing such behavior could be so widespread. I apologize for being ignorant.6 points

EMAWesome is so fucking terrible that I'm enjoying that win over KSU so much more than I would have. isn't there some fucking maximizing wheat and soybean government handouts forum that you should be posting on, while railing about the Libtards and their welfare programs? Maybe a buildthewall forum while immigrant workers actually drive your shitty state's entire fucking economy. Or hell, maybe just a fucking Kansas State website, perhaps they'd enjoy your idiotic diarrhea of the keyboard. In closing, fuck OU and fuck Kansas State.6 points
