  1. It's that and also the fact that literally every monumental achievement and amazing act of valor, by any American, is something he sees as a threat and a personal shortcoming instead of something to celebrate. If he wasn't involved in a monumental event his first instinct is to downplay it because everything within him is founded on weakness. John McCain refusing to leave the war prison that tortured him until his subordinates were released first is a threat to him personally rather than an amazing act of valor, courage and grace. Shit on McCain. The fall of Saddam Hussein, shit on the military. One of the most notoriously successful and courageous military operations ever executed to capture one of the world's greatest criminals, shit on that. Iwo Jima? What took them so long to secure such a tiny island? Tinian and Saipan? Funny names. But he's oddly compelled to be humbled by and show reverence toward Vladimir Putin. Or a murderous Arab prince. Or a murderous dictator in Turkey who ordered his goons to beat Americans not just on American soil, but right in the front yard of our Nation's Capital. He's a self conscious pussy to the core of his being. All of his instincts are guided by weakness because he's ignorant of history and too stupid to understand anything that isn't about him directly. Other people doing great things terrify him. Because he's a pussy.

  3. Hager should respond as follows: "I was made aware today that Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby has interpreted a Conference rule to mean that some of my comments in regards to the University of Oklahoma constitute a violation thereof. Further, the Commissioner stated that he expects a public apology. I decline to make such an apology. I neither regret nor apologize for my comments and will not retract or revise them. They reflect my opinion on the topic of Oklahoma and its football team and I am well within my rights to hold and share said opinion. I am hoping that in the near future, I will be asked my opinion of topics such as how the Big 12 conference responded to the student-athlete rape scandal at Baylor, or how it responds to the Southeastern Conference's attempts to manipulate bowl matchups in its favor, or the Big 12's inconsistent interpretation of unsportsmanlike conduct on and off the field. I will be glad to again trade a public reprimand for the opportunity to share my thoughts. OK, cool. Hook 'em."

  5. And since we can't rely on people who are too stupid to think in two layers to recognize simple facts, someone needs to point out that it isn't, wasn't or never will be the job of the Navy Seals or Admiral McRaven or anyone involved in Special Forces to "find" a target like Bin Laden. Occasionally they gather intelligence. The CIA and multiple intelligence agencies were the ones who "found" Bin Laden. The small handful of agents who risked their lives to confirm Bin Laden's location is as terrifying a tale as the Seals who actually entered the compound. That's just one more thing lost in these idiotic comments and another story entirely. Within 12 weeks of receiving that information, McRaven and the U.S. Navy Seals planned an operation to kill one of the world's most notorious murderers within miles of a hostile military base. Within 12 weeks. Many Americans know these details because they simply take pride in it or at the very least they find it to be amazingly interesting and are fascinated by the complexity of that successful operation. It's Trump's fucking job to understand it as well as the rest of us. The President of the United States doesn't understand this detail. Donald bone spur Trump is trying to sell McRaven as a partial failure because Donald Trump doesn't understand the basics of how our national defense and intelligence agencies intertwine. People who are jacking off on Facebook to cat videos and believing everything they read will never understand the incoherence and fundamental idiocy of Trump's statement about McRaven. The disrespectful and repulsive comments are the least concerning things about that. The most concerning is that he clearly doesn't understand the first thing about one of America's greatest military operations that took place within the last decade. I'm a complete idiot to continuously underestimate the profound stupidity that wafts from this administration. I'm not smart enough to rank the dumbest things they say and do in order. I'd put this at the top but I don't have the intelligence to juggle it all into categories. I'm not smart enough to understand how someone can be this dumb. Rhymes with dookie.

  10. Correct. There are many people who "put their lives on the line" for others as part of their job. First responders, of course. But how about the folks on power crews who go out even while the storm is still raging to try to keep power running to vital places? Or hell, I was talking to some rather ordinary public officials, literally on the phone with me while the water was rising in their OWN homes, about what they could/should do to help folks in areas in peril during Hurricane Harvey. Every one of them deserves to be treated with appropriate respect. And when it comes to members of the armed forces, the most important respect we can show them is 1) don't send them to suffer in shitty circumstances for pointless political bullshit, 2) don't send them to die for pointless political bullshit, 3) keep our promises to them (GI Bill etc.), 4) follow through on medical care for any malady or injury incurred as part of their service (i.e., have a fully funded and high-functioning VA). Oh, and when one of them does something particularly badass and above-and-beyond, we should damned well recognize it with decorations etc. But we do NOT this creepy hero-worship of anyone who put on a uniform. I appreciate their service, just like anyone else who signed up to do a job that serves me as a member of the public. I should appreciate them no more or less than the folks who keep power up and running, who ensure that we have clean water, who put out fires, etc. When you turn the military into heroes who cannot be questioned, then you've taken a dangerous path. They have my gratitude. And we the people made promises to them in exchange for their promise to protect and defend the Constitution. We should keep our promises.

  14. I didn’t grow up in Texas. First time I heard their song, I couldn’t help but hear in my own head “we wish we were U of Texas” to the tune of that Christmas jingle. The aggy I was with asked me how I liked it, and I told her that it was fucking weird and their school fight song is more about Texas than aggy. Their second verse mentions Texas 5 times and aggy 3. They can’t even win their school song.

  16. I'm sure it's been said already but the Big 12 should be required to apologize to every school in the conference for the shitass officiating that kills these games week in and week out.

  27. Fuck off snowflake. Negged. You called him a snowflake because he called you out for saying "urban" music. You are the one to typed it in quotes making it imply something. We all knew what you meant, and he just called you out on it. Own up to it. You're the one acting like the snowflake because everyone on this board knew you meant n-word music. Back to the topic-- It looked cool on tv. Playing "Texas" music is dumb. Play what gets the team and crowd into the game.

  29. De-cleating an opponent is completely unnecessary in executing an effective block or tackle. It serves no purpose other than to injure an opponent and gain high fives from teammates and oohs and aahs from the crowd. It should not be taught or encouraged at any level. It’s going to kill the game.
