Sadly, this whole hate engine has been rolling along for years. I've often wanted to write on here or the earlier places where we gathered that the GOP/Rabid Right had adopted the Nazi model but adapted it so no one gets rounded up. My thesis was that the illusory Liberals were the equivalent of the Juden for them. Constant vilification of the libs, including hatred of the US and what it stands for. Focus the hate on a group. They got away with it because they don't direct the anger at anyone who actually exists. The environmental wackos and feminazis are illusory, of course, but these phantoms control the Dem Party through the Clinton Cabal or George Soros. Their goal is not to improve America but to destroy it. They keep the poor, dumb, lazy negroes on the plantation with giveaways. You know what that means. Wink. It's worked just like it did for Hitler. Had Limbaugh named a real people such as the Jews or Blacks, he would not have survived. But he and his moron chorus like to choose Jews, Blacks, and women as their targets for embodiment of the ebil lib conspiracy. The black woman representative from Houston was their unholy grail. What's a white person to do? Now they and we reap what was sown. The evil was/is in the hate engine.13 points

I just fear that after trump and team get taken down, that everyone will breathe a sigh of relief, and let his enablers (cruz, graham, nunes etc) and his prompters (hannity, pirro, dershowitz, et al) get off completely. I think Mueller has enough on Trump already, but he is using the power of his SC to gather enough evidence on all the rest to implicate them so much it cannot be excused and ignored. He realizes that Trump is the scab, but to really remedy the situation, he needs to put enough in front of the public that is forces us to root out the real evil, those who built the system that put Trump and his ideals of fascism, racism, and other isms center stage, fracturing our country and stalling its progress at the greatest nation in the world. This thing needs to go Nuremberg. Just taking down trump won't be enough. You need to hold accountable those who allowed, or even fostered what we have now. You need the henchmen, the legal weasels, the PR illusionists, the bagmen and the money people behind all this. And yes, you need to give the idiots who voted for and still triumph this fool a healthy dose of crow and castor oil to help them accept their own lesson. These people have been huckstered, but I think the scales can fall from most of their eyes. They may never admit out loud they got duped, but they will accept it and quietly withdraw their support. Then we have to figure out how to change our country, get it back on track. But right now we don't even have a clue where we are headed as a country. I feel that has been our problem since NASA basically got shelved. From the beginning, we had a country to carve out and establish up until the world wars. Then we became the policemen of the world, the standard bearer for democracy. We had our own human rights and social ills we were addressing at home. We competed with Russia in the exploration of space. But now, since then, what do we hang our hat on? What are our goals as a country? We could take up the mantel of renewable energy, education, healthcare, climate control, or human rights. But we go backwards under Trump in these areas. We need to re-evaluate why we are where we are and where we want to go. Mueller is giving us the ammunition to clean house and right the ship. We need to start looking past Trump and into doing that house cleaning and re focusing our country. Once we have a focus a lot of our division will go away.11 points

NYT reporting that Kushner spoke with and offered advice to MBS AFTER the Khashoggi murder. Why do we have a senior WH aide speaking to foreign leaders unofficially about a murder of a US resident? In what universe shouldn't this be investigated? https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/08/politics/jared-kushner-saudi-crown-prince-mohammed-bin-salman/index.html Does anyone not believe this is about investments either made or promised to Kushner to keep his family business afloat? Of course, given that Kushner's family primarily deal with foreign investors, it's doesn't appear easy to track the source of any investment. But then again perhaps this is just Kushner trying to informally talk to any and all foreign leaders to speed up diplomacy...5 points

I say impeach trump ASAP, and then Pence in 2020. I also believe even if the impeachment vote never comes, that just what the dems use to call for the impeachment process will push dotus hard enough to crack even more and make the 25A a reasonable option. I have a feeling there will be at least a handful of implicated republican senators that can also be added to the Pence rodeo. But first rid the country of trump and company as potus to avoid even further damage. He is dangerous and unstable, and already we need to start repairing what he has done. Waiting for the ideal political time is self serving and dangerous if it is too apparent. There will be enough legal shit he and his family will be faced with to keep him in the negative news for a very long time. Strengthening the party won't matter if the country burns down while we wait for the right opportunity.5 points

Lulz. Thousands of rules. I have a quick fix. Make all contributions to a politician illegal. Everything. Set up the system where people run and are elected based on strength of ideas and not how rich and corrupt they can get.4 points

All the reasons to impeach need to be overwhelming and public before the impeachment process starts. Mueller needs to have such clear evidence of fraud and conspiracy with a hostile foreign power that senate Republicans will be forced to go along, just like with Nixon. If Dems rush to impeach before they have concrete evidence of serious crimes, it will backfire on them, the R's will use it to their advantage in 2020, and Trump will get reelected.4 points

This was my favorite thread on the other site. I have never had the guts to post anything here until now. My humble submission is chilaquiles made from last night's leftovers of a chicken concoction inspired by chicken tinga. It slammed and went hard. Tonight I will make enchiladas with said chicken concoction.4 points

Season-long lurker here. I attend some of the pre-game match discussions. A few people ask detailed questions about the game or team deficiencies. Service issues were discussed early in the season, for example. However, a majority of the people in the room don't understand the game that well and/or don't want to confront Elliott in that forum. Regarding comments about Elliott as an elite coach, I don't think he has that reputation among the volleyball community (based on comments from those associated with volleyball, not just message boards). He is a fantastic recruiter, but is not known for player development or teaching strategy. He relies heavily on his staff for the detailed coaching: Johnson (offense) and Sullivan (defense). Someone said this on this thread earlier in the season -- paraphrasing here: Elliott doesn't have to be the hands-on coach that teaches the players to get them to the next level. He can continue to be an excellent recruiting coach; however, that means he needs an outstanding staff to back him up. Right now, he doesn't have that so his weaknesses with defense/serve-receive and player development are very exposed now. For example, I give a tremendous amount of credit to Salima Rockwell for the 2012 championship. We needed someone like that to help push the program past the ghosts of the major tournament collapses of 2008 and 2009. We need more assistant coaches like Salima on staff again (more likely), or we need to a new direction for head coach (unlikely).4 points

If it’s determined that elected office is obtained using fraud, there needs to be a mechanism to nullify that outcome which supersedes any consideration of whether that sitting official can be personally indicted. We’re seeing a similar situation unfold for that US House seat involving vote fraud in a rural county in North Carolina. Irrespective of whether they ever face criminal punishment, no one should be allowed to retain an elected position obtained through incorporation of criminal fraud.3 points

I think with the passage of time, more people will come around and realize that Kendal Briles is a good coach, and no matter what anyone says, he’s a rape enabling sack of shit that shouldn’t be allowed to coach anyone, and if I had my way, someone would take a bat to his knees.3 points

We need an 8 team playoff. The champs of the Power 5 conferences and 3 at large bids, make it happen NCAA. The new system is slightly better than the BCS, but it still sucks. Nobody questions the NCAAB champions after March madness, the winners earn it.3 points
