My brother, standing in the exit on the west side 50 yard line, got so excited he started slapping the back of the guy in front of him. The fellow turned around and said “get off me”. At the same time two Secret Service agents grabbed my brother and dragged him away from Lyndon B. Johnson.5 points

I saw a movie one time where this dude was in a hospital (they didn't say what for but I guess it could've been a stroke). Anyway, these two really hot nurses come in to give him a sponge bath. Well, one thing lead to another and the dude ends up banging both the chicks. One of them had really big tits. Maybe something like this can happen to you. If not, get better and get the hell out of there.4 points

Some people have so much talent at their chosen profession that the establishment can't even accept them for it. VY was one of them. He is the reason why I don't follow the NFL anymore and will never take it seriously as an organization. At least not until a complete overhaul of ownership happens, and that won't be any time in the foreseeable future. Fisher was one huge nail in the coffin in what amounts to the murder of a great player's pro career, but all of you who doubted and who sided with the NFL over Vince are also to blame. We witnessed the deliberate destruction of what should've been a great pro career to go along with a college career for the history books and many of you stood complacent right up to the point Fisher brought a pro Rams team back to his Southern Cal homeland and was exposed as an utter fraud of 20 years.4 points

My set up story- I know jack shit about guitars, all I know is celery recommended that Les Paul SL and you guys all said no matter what else you do, you need to get it set up. I get the guitar and start calling around to the guitar centers, and other shops trying to schedule something when I see a story about the estate of Prince threatening to sue the original maker of the cloud guitar from Purple Rain. The guy was making these guitars out of a shop in his home in Bloomington, MN and selling them for 8,000 per. Prince's folks thought they owned the design rights while he obviously disagreed since he made the first one. Since I live in Bloomington, I called him figuring he'd laugh at me asking him to set up a low end guitar, but he just says "sure, bring it by the house and I'll take a look at it." So that's how someone who knows nothing about guitars ended up getting a $120 guitar set up by a world class luthier that designed an iconic piece of music history and also did work for the Stones, Who, Def Lepperd and Stray Cats among others. I picked it up today and the guy kept saying how he was stunned about what a good guitar it was and couldn't believe someone could make that quality at that price. He said that other than the pickups (which were good but not great) a world class guitarist could pick it up and be happy playing it. Moral of the story- trust celery when he recs a guitar and only get your set ups from the best.4 points

It’s not “whataboutism” if the very same politician is being criticized for an opposite opinion he held in the 90s. “Whataboutism” is like saying “You think Trump is corrupt? What about so and so from your political party?!” AOC is pointing out sheer partisan hypocrisy from the same person. That’s just Lindsay Graham getting called out on his bullshit. I feel like I wouldn’t have to explain this if I believed Trump supporters actually graduated college, but here we are.4 points

If aggy asks about your ring, tell them it's an aggy ring. When they start whooping and asking what year, tell them, "Oh I didn't go there. I picked it up at a pawn shop for $27. Or was it $25? Well, somewhere around 27-25."4 points

By philosophy and design, Kirby Smart’s defense is designed to stop the running game first and then the deep ball. It makes perfect sense in a league where the typical style is run, run, deep shot. We’ve discussed the personnel choices he’s made in terms of trading size for speed. But I wanted to look in more detail. I’ve seen Georgia play several times this season but only payed close attention to their SEC CG appearance. No sane person is going to compare Texas to Bama today so I went back and watched some of their other games against the stronger teams on the rest of their schedule. It would be hard to argue that there is higher average talent among the group of Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri and LSU than at Texas so this seems like a reasonable comp. Most of my observations are based on those games. Georgia’s defense usually does an excellent job shutting down the ground game between the tackles. It displays some weakness vs off tackle runs, especially cutbacks outside once the LBs step to fill inside gaps and significant weakness against run game extensions to the perimeter. In pass defense they rarely get beaten deep but often have trouble with intermediate routes, especially off play action and with covering the flats. The 4i-0-4i front is commonly used (both Texas and Georgia do it). It puts 5 defenders (3 DL and 2 ILBs) inside the OTs. That has a distinct tendency to shut down interior running since it commits 3 guys to clog the A gaps. The inside shade on the OT does allow that man to block down on the DE to stop flow to the outside, which helps to explain the soft spot off tackle. It's risky to pull an OG against this front since the 4i DE can just follow the puller to the ball, so a good blocking TE/H-back is very valuable against this front. Against a pure running team like UK, Smart played a lot of 5 man fronts to set the edge, provide backside pursuit and contain but that will be tough to do if he goes nickel against the Horns. Coverage emphasizes mixed looks that usually end up with cover 3 or quarters to stop vertical routes. Good design to stop big plays; not so great against teams that throw a lot of intermediate routes 10-15 yds downfield. Combine a mobile Texas QB with the worst pass rush in the SEC and those safeties are often going to spend a lot of time far downfield with LBs trying to cover the intermediate stuff. Being forced to cover longer gets every level dropping deeper, which helps to explain Georgia’s problems defending the flats. Safties covering Duvernay and CJ deep, LBs trying not to lose LJ dropping 10-12 yds off the LOS. Who does that leave when Beck, Ingram or Watson releases to the flats or a short crossing route? Even without a delayed release, UGa had trouble covering receivers out of the backfield, both RBs and motion WRs. I’ve often been told I am extreme OCD. My sister says I really put the first 4 letters in analyst. But everyone should go with their strengths.3 points

Came to the emergency room at 10 p.m. with symptoms of meningitis. They did four draws of spinal fluid and all of them contained blood. So then they did cat-scan & found my brain was covered in blood. They're not letting me get up and walk around, which is pissing me off. Just had MRI done at 4 AM. That sucked. I feel fine, and it's not like half my face doesn't work or I'm slurring words while sober. But any stupid posts I make from here on out will be blamed on this.3 points

Been there. Mine was a small clot instead of a bleed. I was in Oklahoma. They thought I had a TIA. A couple of fine Shaggy Drs diagnosed mine over the internet better than the Oklahoma Drs, in the hospital, looking at results AND ME. HookMD was one, and I'm very sorry that I can't remember the other. You've come to the right place. Guys (and gals) at TOS were great to me, and helped me realize what I had in life. Good luck! I hope you have a full recovery, and very soon!3 points

Keep CCGs AND go to 8, with autobids for the champions, autobid for the highest-ranked G5 team, and 2 at-large. That’s really a full season long playoff for P5 teams at that point. Each division or conference round robin is a tournament, with winners advancing to the CCG stage. CCG winners advance to the Tournament of Champions along with some wild cards. Regular season conference games matter because they’re all part of the grand tournament. Noncons matter because good non con wins give you a chance to stay alive even if you don’t win your tournament. Imagine how much less shitty the sports chatter-verse would instantly become as everything becomes about predicting/discussing the outcome of games instead of debating idiotic and arbitrary/contradictory eye test metrics. Or a total fantasy that will never happen - break up the P5 into 8 conferences that all play round robins with autobids for winners. Promote a few G5 teams to make the numbers work. Then bring in relegation and promotion. A team like UCF doesn’t get screwed after going undefeated twice because after the first time they take over a P8 spot occupied by a Kansas or a Rutgers or somebody and then control their own destiny the next season. And every season after that until they finish last in their conference. And Kansas or Rutgers can go play in the MWC or wherever and maybe have a chance to win some games. If they ever get good enough to finish first in their lesser tournament, they get to move back up and take a slot from last place finisher at the next level.3 points

Get you pens and papers ready for your sternly worded letters to CNN and the kid's father... (CNN)The father of a 7-year-old Guatemalan girl who died after being detained by the US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) said he has "no complaints about how Border Patrol agents treated him and his daughter," Guatemalan Consul Tekandi Paniagua told CNN on Saturday. The consul said the father, Nery Gilberto Caal, told him agents did everything they possibly could to help his daughter, Jakelin Caal Maquin, after she became sick on a a bus. The bus traveled from the Antelope Wells port of entry in New Mexico to a Border Patrol station in Lordsburg, New Mexico, about 90 minutes away. She died December 8 in a hospital https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/15/us/guatemalan-girls-father/index.html3 points

Watching the news, a Ford ad came on: Me: Hey, explorers at 0% for 72 months, not bad. Her: Well, then you have to pay that huge balloon payment at the end. Me: This isn't a lease, it's a 72 month loan. You won't have a balloon payment. Her: I know. Facepalm and out.3 points

He was a Wishbone halfback out of Hudson, Wisconsin. If I remember correctly, he wasn't heavily recruited out of high school but had an aunt who worked at UT who gave a highlight film to Coach Royal - who DID recruit him. Also, I'm told he didn't know how to block when he first got to UT. Royal said, that's OK, we'll teach him. He threw a key block that helped Ted Koy on a 10 yard run on the play after the Street-Peschel bomb in the Texas-Arkansas game. He scored the tying touchdown himself on the next play. The photo above is a run in the 1970 Arkansas game. We were leading, 14-7 and had just stopped them on a goal line stand after a first down on our 3 yard line. Bill Montgomery got inside the one on 4th down but no more. We then proceeded on a 99 yard TD drive that broke their back. We won, 42-7, the caption is incorrect.3 points

Sorry been off a few days. Thanks for the advice! Went ahead and took it—applied pre-stain prior to staining, definitely glad I did. Looked really blotchy on the test wood without the prestain. Not done yet—hoping to be done before next weekend when family comes in for Christmas. I’ll go ahead and post a few pics of the progress so far. Be gentle—it’s my first time!3 points

This phenomenon is actually fucking crazy. In the past 10 years or so, Rs have completely and totally gone fucking insane. It's like the Fox News/Limbaugh potion they were ingesting for 30 years all of a sudden took hold. The only thing it was lacking was a trigger and, ho boy, get a black man into office and BAM! I think this really needs to be recognized. This isn't a difference in political ideologies. It is a radical shift in objective reality. You cannot have a functioning society where 1/3 of the populace have their brains addled to the point where they quite literally think that facts and truth are not real. As has been said, Trump is not the biggest problem, he is merely a projection of a serious break from reality.3 points
