Wife and I have an annual brainstorming dinner where we plan the harebrained schemes for the upcoming year. This year, we decided to get it out of the way early, so, honestly, tonight is just Netflix and chill. We've put in a solid 40+ hours this week staging the house and yard. Going on the market Jan. 2nd. Leaving College Station forever within a couple of weeks after closing, whenever that happens. By default, that means I'm gonna have a happier fuckin' New Year than anybody else.9 points

Wife tried to find a ticket to the Sugar bowl for my christmas present and couldn't find one. She asked what I wanted and half jokingly said a puppy. I present Luna to the surly dog family. Pretty sure she's a black mouth cur. We got her at town lake animal shelter. She's 8 weeks old.8 points

Dude, you don’t understand. Trump’s following isn’t rooted in politics. A political following has an element of combustibility, meaning it could all break down and explode given the right circumstances and no politician is above that. Trump? His following is based in faith, which is the most dishonest root of a position that is possible to take. His defenders will defensively defend him by 1) asserting claims that are completely without evidence and 2) argue entirely in spite of evidence. They have a name for that in religious circles. It’s called “apologetics.” How does one get involved in apologetics? Simple: become hopelessly indoctrinated towards such a ridiculous cause. No amount of evidence Robert Mueller can show will convince trump’s base that this is anything other than a “witch hunt.”8 points

Liucci is a mouth-breathing fucktard. He’s a booster “covering” his alma mater. They don’t get much more homer than him, and the NCAA should shut that shit down.6 points

Hold on a second - I don't want to fully cover the details of the substance of the email scandal, but it's important to remember that she did something illegal and tragicomically stupid for no good reason other than a combination of a) A long term aversion to transparency and indifference to common, basic standards covered in every required training at every level of government and b) An unwillingness to learn to use current technology tools or carry two devices for business and personal use. It's idiotic. That's completely different than a deranged and cruel conspiracy theory. A reasonable person would never buy into the Vince Foster BS. A reasonable person can and should question Clinton's ethics and even basic competence on the basis of the truth with regard to the email fiasco. So there's two ways she could have handled it. The more difficult way would be to own it and demonstrate authentic personal and organizational accountability, but the best way would be for it to have never happened. The real problem with the email story wasn't the emails, you know. The real problem was that it was like a parable that illustrated every shortcoming that dogged her career. The sloppiness, the allergy to transparency, the double standards, the incompetence, the tin ear, the lack of accountibility, the inauthenticity, the incapacity to manage a team, the uninentional errors - it's all there. So the reason the email story blew up the way it did was that it fit the myth. We knew the story before we even heard it. Not because of the right wing media, but because of the subject matter she willingly and enthusiastically provides them.6 points

It wasn't just the media, though - that was a self-inflicted problem, a comedy of errors that she allowed to spin out of control due to a combination of hubris, paranoia and her shocking ineptitude both as a politician and managing executive. Hillary Clinton did everything she could have done to make the email story seem as bad as possible. And as it turned out, it was disqualifying.5 points

I've got one with a happier ending....A friend of mine and his buddy somehow got a line on Cubs announcer Harry Caray when they were coming through Houston. They asked him if they could take him out for a beer one night after the game and he seemed game, and told them about some secret exit out of the Dome where they could meet him. My buddy had a baseball with him for to sign, but Caray never showed. Meanwhile, Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins and Cubs catcher Jody Davis come ambling out, and my buddy goes running up to Jenkins, asking him sign the ball he had intended for Caray. He obliges graciously, and hands it over to Davis, who was a good player, but hardly great. My buddy snatches it away from Davis and said "Sorry, Jody, Hall of Famers only." He said Jenkins almost fell on the ground laughing. And then they got talking, exchanged cards and shit, and decades later out of the blue Davis sent him an autographed picture of himself as a friendly fuck you.5 points

I’ve worked in O&G for fifteen years now. It hasn’t jaded me toother workers getting fucked in their various industries. It’s only hardened me to the fact that O&G is one the shittiest industries to work in. I sympathize with workers repeatedly getting fucked over primarily because I work in O&G.5 points

Kendal Briles fucked over Major hard. Major went out on a limb to help out his former teammate who was considered by most programs to have the stench of his father on him. Major stuck his neck out for him and Kendal true to his family legacy of being complete cunts bolts at the first opportunity. IMO, UH would have stuck with Major for another year had Kendal stayed. With both the OC and DC gone, it made it easier to rationalize to get rid of Major. Fuck the Briles’. Garbage family.4 points

Negged for illogic. Ada suffers in public sector. However, Betty suffers in private sector. Therefore, Ada is coddled. You've evidently bought into the hate engine's campaign against civil servants. They're not real people. They're parasites whose promised pensions are underved. Stop coddling them. If they don't like it, let them die and decrease the surplus population.4 points
