  1. EJ: I’m hearing Bru actually signed his LOI and maybe some regret is setting in. It was all roses after the Kliff hire. USC had him visit at the perfect time, right before NSD1. Always takes a few weeks to come down from the post visit high. I really think Bru likes Texas and Knows he would be developed by coming here. I think he may have bought the sunshine from USC and emotionally signed. Now he’s wondering if he made the right choice with the Kliff rumors and players telling him to stay away from USC. I’m hearing his parents are trying to figure out way to get out of his LOI he signed. It’s why the parents are still communicating with the Texas staff. .... just kidding.... i made that shit up. 9.95 please.

  3. If you TRULY want to solve illegal immigration, you address the visa overstays. You actually punish employers that hire undocumented workers. You take away the incentive that draws these people to our country. A wall solves none of this. It's nothing more than a giant, expensive, ineffective, statue of a middle finger pointed at the South. It just says "we don't want your kind" without actually addressing the issue at all.

  8. yeah, i saw earlier when @Brisketexan was asking "where will the trumpkins go?" they'll go back to gnawing leather or eating leaves out of their maga hats. fuck them. we don't owe them anything. they are mouthbreathers of the highest order, even if some of them are highly educated. it's gullibility that they have in spades. they want to believe. they range from conspiracy theorists to...conspiracy theorists. seriously, they believed the basement of a pizza place was the centerpiece to a goddamn pedophile ring. based on...some bizarre need for it to be so. they need to be convinced and led, because they are all followers of ideology rather than rationality. as a matter of fact, it is their goal not to be rational. they don't want to stop and think. they want to react and to hate. they need some externality against which to rail. for some, it's jewish folks, for others, it's mexicans and central americans, for others, it's the cuck libs, for others, it's the bureaucracy. doesn't matter. just need to hate on something to keep that fire burning. and it's that fire that's going to burn up the GOP. and most of the politicians in the gop are nihilistic enough to not give a shit. they either retire to go get that fat paycheck as a lobbyist or whatever, or they continue stoking that fire because it's all they know. but eventually, they will again splinter into their very different conspiracy theory worlds. the reptile people will split from the qanon will split from the pizzagaters will split from the vince foster murderers. trump allowed them a singularity, but it's not a long term play, no matter how fatalistic we can be about it in the current environment. they are burning too bright to sustain. and that's the hope of the nation.

  9. And this is the kind of casual, pervasive misogyny that the right engages in and is so often dismissed with a “Quit being such a sensitive girl” whenever it’s pointed out. I hope she continues to drive the PePe, 4chan, incels absolutely crazy just by existing.

  12. After re-watching the game, I'm going to say that Kirby hasn't been out coached that badly since the last time he faced Tom Herman. That scripted first drive was a thing of beauty. TH KNEW that Georgia would come out fired up and exploited their over-aggressive play with misdirection. Once they were made to look foolish and doubting their reads and keys that took that starch out of the Georgia defense and they were already halfway beaten. Once Texas got them into reactive mode, Herman started channeling Bill Snyder and running the old single wing plays with pulling linemen slamming into stationary defenders. So first confuse them and confuse them what's coming next. Then physically beat them and convince them that even if they know what's coming, they can't stop it. That completed the process of demoralization. See the Sam's final TD where the RB takes the DE, drives him 6-7 yards back and plants him on his ass. The biggest defensive surprise was a steady diet of heavy 4 DL packages. They would never do that against 90% of the Big XII. Clearly Orlando and Herman were more concerned about the ground game than any passing threat from Fromm and they were absolutely correct. Fromm had 10 chances to convert 3rd and >1. He got 2 1st downs, a sack and an interception out of that. Fromm was a liability when Texas could see him coming. 4 DL, 2 LBs who could attack the run downhill and disguised run support from the secondary - especially CBs acting to force the play inside put a choke hold on the Georgia running game. UGa has 296 yards, a new season low for their offense. They were at 172 yds through 3 quarters and 236 through 59 minutes of play. Texas was happy to trade them those last 60 yards to burn up the clock. Georgia's running game averaged almost 250 yards this season and went over 150 vs Bama. They gained 72 vs Texas. That was the definition of domination. That was a coaching clinic put on by the Longhorns on both sides of the ball.

  15. The only reason it could be interpreted that way is because Fox News and Republicans have constantly LIED saying liberals want "open borders". Again, this is why the GOP and its supporters are fucking dead to me. Every argument is disingenuous.

  16. It is very hard to have this discussion when one of the parties insists on "WALL!" and won't budge an inch. There have been countless articles, videos, TV specials, speeches, etc. outlining why the wall is a completely ineffective solution to illegal immigration, yet here you go "both sides"-ing it. And this isn't a personal attack, I know you are a thoughtful poster. The fact that you (and millions of others, I'm sure) assumed Pelosi's "anti-wall" comments are synonymous with "anti-border security" goes to show how effective Trump can be with his bullshit messaging.

  19. I guess if your house was the SEC you would have Vanderbilt up above the fireplace to show how smart you are, Bama would be on display to show you are a winner, LSU would be in there to show that you are just a "good ol' country boy" at heart, and aggy would be the sock stuffed under the couch that your drunk teenager jerked off in after he came home last night.

  20. Why was Georgie trying to score late in the game if they didn't want to be there? Why start playing at the end? You really think Georgia spent the last 3 weeks preparing for the FUCKING SUGAR BOWL because they didn't care? Go fuck yourself with this thinking. I get so fucking tired of hearing someone didn't want to play when they get wupped. They played like shit. Yeah because they got wupped. Didn't want to be there. Yeah because they got wupped. They aren't playing against air. Someone showed up to your game and wupped your ass. That's why it looked like you didn't want to be there and that's why you looked like shit.

  22. I'm just going to say it: She's immediately one of the hotter people in DC. She gives good social media and interview. She's got an identifiable brand. I don't agree with all of her policies, but I'd rather listen to her, than 3/4 of the traditional trolls and creeps that work the sunday shows. Which would you prefer? Her or listening to Ben Sasse spout the same Serious Concern bullshit he's been laying down for the last 4 years.

  23. No. They're not. We've found out who they are. They salivate to the dog-whistles of xenophobia and demonization of the other. They are HAPPY to create detention camps for brown kids. They will dismiss -- in a heartbeat -- the ideals of honesty and trustworthiness in order to follow a charlatan. These are not good people. They are bad people, who used to have the common sense and obedience to social order to keep their shittiness to themselves. Now, they feel free to let their shittiness show, and they ain't shy about it.

  30. There's a reasonable debate to be had about border security. No reasonable person thinks a wall is an effective means to more border security. The GOP could also start a debate about whether we should put lead back in gasoline, whether we should invade Canada, or starting a Space Force. Reasonable people don't debate nonsense, ineffective policy ideas just because one political party makes up its own alternative facts in support of a useless, costly, stupid "policy."

  33. Be Sure to Read article above ^^^^^^ CDC is truly "The Servant Leader" Behind Del Conte’s desk are the words he read at his father’s memorial service, and the same message that sat behind his dad’s desk, too: “People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered: forgive them anyway. “If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives: be kind anyway. “If you are successful, you’ll win some false friends and some true enemies: succeed anyway. “If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you: be honest and frank anyway. “What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight: build anyway. “If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous: be happy anyway. “The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow: do good anyway. “Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough: give the world the best you’ve got anyway. “You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God: it was never between you and them anyway.”

  35. It's painful watching you guys twist into finding a way that McCoy could have come here, but for that danged OV and ESD compounding his temporary enthusiasm for USC. You've taken it to the point that you're now researching ways and precedent for bailing on a signed LOI. Holy shit. Y'all mocked the EJ Holland "he only knew at the podium" narrative with Cain, but now you're concocting that same premise for McCoy.

  36. They were talking about a wall, not border security. The reason people are treating you like a MAGA idiot is because you were asking MAGA idiot questions in preparation to make a MAGA idiot argument, which is what you just made. That Pelosi saying "building a giant concrete fucking wall across our southern border is not in line with who we are" only has one possible meaning - race card.

  38. Sure, his campaign slogan is basically "Trump, but without all the batshit crazy." It's why his op-ed is focused completely on "character," instead of policy. He applauds taking a hardline with China on trade. Hell, he even gives a shout out to unions. To me what is significant about the op-ed is that it is a strong sign that Romney is staking out a position as the Plan B for the GOP. Plan A is that Trump will weather the Mueller Report with some political viability, and will carry the banner in 2020. But Republicans have to consider the possibility that the Mueller report will be completely cripple Trump as viable candidate. Romney certainly is. At a time when Democratic politicians are deciding whether to throw their hats in the ring, Romney has clearly decided to draw attention to himself as a potential replacement to Trump. He's not going to do shit other than be another Flake/Sasse/Corker if Trump still looks viable in 6 months. But, even though vultures don't attack, it's generally not a good sign if several of them are circling you in the desert.

  40. I think this is the thing that annoys me about the SEC SEC SEC stuff. It is not really about the SEC schools, many of which have great football programs worthy of respect, it is about the whole corporate brand mentality of the whole thing. Like football is just another branding and corporate bullshit product to brand and sell to the masses. Come buy the SEC SEC SEC they produce the best sportsball!!11 Really annoying and everything to do with the bullshit around sports than the actual sports themselves. So we have these supposed sports commentators who are really just marketing hacks for conference products rather than helping us understand and enjoy sports. Why is the SEC superior? BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE MOST BESTEST SPORTSBALL PLAYERS!!11 Thanks for the analysis. I guess it helps with recruiting efforts of schools in the SEC conference so no wonder many of their fans are eager to propagate it. But it is really bad for the sport as a whole. So anyway do not expect our performance to ever change the SEC narrative, it is a corporate branding strategy and not actually about informing the public. It is about convincing the public.
