So do they send all the “Alabama National Champ” shirts to College Station instead of Africa?12 points

It means he will be broadcasting on Periscope in 5 minutes. He will talk about recruiting for 60 seconds and irrelevant shit that he thinks makes him seem cool for another 29 minutes. satyanash will suffer through all of it to let us know any information that is included and will report back after it's over.12 points

We played two Top 5 teams in the same year as well, Georgia and Oklahoma. Difference is we actually BEAT them instead of losing and then worshipping at the feet of their greatness.11 points

"Georgia wasn't motivated" "It wasn't the CFP so it didn't matter" or some variation of this pathetic self-deception. It's comprehensively wrong, should be comprehensively refuted and deserves its own thread. UGa's defense started the game FLYING all over the field. Tom Herman saw that coming and EMBARRASSED them with misdirection. The details are here. The bottom line is that Georgia was very motivated, came out aggressive and ran themselves out of the play repeatedly. They over-pursued and pass rushed too hard. Mensa made them pay the price for being so motivated. Georgia's actions were NOT what teams do when they come out flat. Like a matador, Tom Herman goaded them, watched them run past and then stuck a sword in their ass. Orlando did the same thing to them by hitting the Bulldogs repeatedly from unexpected angles. Herman bled them repeatedly - of confidence, of pride and finally of aggressiveness. By halftime, Georgia's players were confused, abused and humiliated. By that point they had lost their motivation but they didn't start out that way. It was what Texas did to them the MADE them that way. Thank you for letting me set the record straight.9 points

Well, I could be like the 9.95ers and just pull something out of my ass. After speaking with my connections, it appears that there will be a staff shakeup after the AFCA convention. TH wants to bring Beaty in to shore up Dallas recruiting and to help with playcalling. Beck has indicated that he is okay with the change and will move over to coach TEs. Of course, this means Warehime will go. His two year contract is up and it was apparent after the hire of coach Hand, Warehime's days on teh 40 acres were numbered. The big question that remains is at WR and DL. Coach Meh, we have heard, has been speaking with teams on the East Coast and is perhaps looking for greener pastures. The question remains whether Mehringer will be replaced if he leaves or the spot is filled with a DL coach. Coach Giles isn't going anywhere but he has had some difficulties relating to the younger generation and could use some help on the recruiting trail. In other news, there has been some indication that coach Herman has been in contact with Tyron Carrier, the WR coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers under Dana Holgorsen. While the obvious move would be for Carrier to follow Dana Holgorsen to the University of Houston, Texas remains a darkhorse candidate for his services. Carrier is a dynamite recruiter and could really shore up Tom Herman's staff. Stay tuned because the coaching situation is very fluid. After the huge Sugar Bowl victory, coaches are clamoring to join Tom Herman's staff. On the other hand, Coach Herman is reluctant to have a large staff turnover. He has been happy with how the Horns have performed on and off the field.9 points

A couple of these posts strike close to home . . . I never wanted to put this track on widespread blast, but I'm fond of it nonetheless. My daughter taught herself ukelele on a sick day when Mom said "no electronics" (no doubt thwarting the whole point of the "sick" day in the first place). She's always been a natural singer. I'll catch her using our master bath shower as a reverb tank, singing something she wrote (which is often good), but one day I heard her doing this tune which turns out to be a cover she liked. I said "let's go record that", and one uke take and overdubbed vocal an hour later, here it is, no editing (autotune or timing), just some reverb and compression. She was a freshman in HS at this point: EDIT: I need to get better at Soundcloud, sorry for the subsequent tunes of an old band of mine. If you're hearing them. Which you may not be.8 points

I -feel-the same way, but we can afford to exit a kid from college in a way that makes the degree cost effective. Almost by definition that’s not middle class. If you can afford a home, reliable transportation, healthcare, college and vacation while putting something away for retirement you aren’t middle class in this country anymore. And that’s the core issue in our politics: the destruction of the middle class and the end of the American dream.8 points

I'm pretty sure that you think the southern border is made of clean, straight lines like the cartoon maps they give to children at restaurants. You have two posts on this one page that are a couple of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on this entire site.7 points

"Illegally seizing private property for a vanity project" to own the libs is now "good news" according to Trumpkins. There is no logic, rationale, or fact-based reasoning. This is the kind of thinking that suicide bombers employ. "Winning" is defined as "making someone else lose," which means that you don't care about the costs, even to the thing that you supposedly care about, because the only metric that counts is how much it hurts someone else. The thinking of a Trumpkin and a jihadist are a LOT more alike than the moron base would ever care to admit. But who gives a fuck, it's obvious to everyone else.7 points

Perfect is the enemy of good, folks. Falling into the Republican manufactured and media driven garbage of holding everyone BUT Trump’s feet to the fire is exactly how we ended up with the current shitshow. Some of y’all are literally expecting more from a congresswomen whose been in office two days than you expect from the president. And as much as I love Anderson Cooper, he and the rest of the media are too concerned about not being accused of being “LIBERAL FAKE NEWS”. I’m beginning to think it’s not the Democrats who are going to fuck up 2020; it’s going to be the media and the voters so against Trump. They’re going to overthink and over analyze and nitpick everything to death and fuck everything up.7 points

The fact that Democrats are expected to be fiscally responsible in all things and the GOP gets a pass on balancing anything creates such a disparate political dynamic that it is literally damaging our democracy. There are a number of important policy challenges facing our nation. When Democrats are asked to fix them, via elections, the nation's deficit scolds (including legions of centrist Democrats) show up in force, with a constant "How are you going to pay for that?" Imagine how Obamacare would have looked it it had taken on 2 trillion in deficit spending over 10 years, (like the Trump tax cuts), instead of being revenue positive? The narrative that the GOP is the party of fiscal responsibility and economic growth (despite the fact that every GOP president since Hoover has overseen the beginning of at least one major recession) hobbles our discourse. Honestly, the party descriptors should be: Democrats: We make you eat your vegetables Republicans: The Bar is open!!7 points

Of course that's your contention. You're a first year grad student. You just got finished some Marxian historian, Pete Garrison prob’ly, you’re gonna be convinced of that until next month when you get to James Lemon, then you’re gonna be talkin’ about how the economies of Virginia and Pennsylvania were entrepreneurial and capitalist back in 1740. That's gonna last until next year, you’re gonna be in here regurgitating Gordon Wood, talkin’ about you know, the Pre-revolutionary utopia and the capital-forming effects of military mobilization.6 points
