Lets get this guy back to the Sugar Bowl (NCG) next year!25 points

I'm not a math guy, but thankfully excel makes life easy. So lets just go ahead and blow this fucking bullshit about eyeballs in the Big 12 vs. the SEC right out of the fucking water. Or at the very least, lets go ahead and examine the general drawing power of our program versus their program, regardless of network. First, lets go ahead and get my source of this information out of the way: http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/ Total # of Viewers for the entire 2018 season, including championship games and bowls (all #s in Millions, including streaming where reported): Texas: 54.401 aTm: 27.081 Total # of regular Season viewers, removing bowl games and championship games: Texas: 30.804 aTm: 21.939 Average Viewers Per Game: Texas: 4.185 aTm: 3.009 Average Viewers Per Game Removing CCGs and Bowls: Texas: 2.8 aTm: 2.74 So by EVERY fucking metric, be it total viewers, average viewers, removing CCGs (Because aTm sucks and played in none) as well as bowl viewing (because aTm played in a shittier one with less appeal) Texas comes out ahead. Fuck, if you want to grab the aTm narrative of shitty TV contracts, and shitty networks, and shitty start times, hell, we whipped their ass despite an overwhelming handicap. So fuck them. And it gets even more interesting. That webpage, only listed 8 regular season televised games, versus 10 for UT. Now, is that because aTm plays 2 fucking pathetic non P5 out of conference games? Of course it fucking does, and of course that's fucking why. Games against Nichols St and the Northwestern State Gaping Pussies weren't listed. So while that might have brought their totals down a bit, it sure as mother fuck would have brought their average viewers per game down even fucking more. Other fun facts: 13.3 million folks watched the Sugar Bowl, 10.3 million watched the B12 title game. aTm's highest viewed game of the season? Alabama at 5.65 million. Their second is the Gator Bowl at 5.142 million. Clemson was 4.48. aTm vs alabama did beat the Red River Shootout 5.65 to 5.08, but one was a noon game and the other was mid day. I'll let you guess which was which, and who the primary driver of of eyeballs was in that game. In short, either no one wants to watch aTm as much as Texas, or no one can find them on TV as easily as Texas. Pick one. Actually, fuck it, the answer is both and everyone but those dunderheads knows the truth.25 points

Well, seems that there's a real-deal special prosecutor on the job. Y'all convict Hillary after Trey Gowdy's years of Benghazi hearings? I mean, if we wanted a script for "pissing up a rope," that'd be the one we oughta follow.13 points

Every offseason multiple people here predict doom and gloom for aggy, and every year they win between 7-9 games. Last season, their Oline was going to be shit and they had no DE's and they ended up being fine. Next year it's LB's and DB's. People around here always underestimate their incoming talent. They are going to be fine and they will be another middling SEC team along with all the other overhyped middling SEC teams. They are almost certainly going to lose to Bama, @Clemson, @Georgia and @LSU. They have 3 certain wins against the murderers row of Lamar, Texas State and UTSA. They always beat Arkansas and look like crap doing it. Then the Mississippi schools and Auburn are a coin flips (they get 2/3 of them at home this year). Throw in a SEC cherry picked bowl game, and its a recipe for somewhere between 7-6 and 9-4. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.13 points

The reason I've been so focused on this particular incident is because through a wider lens it highlights the current and future problems we have as a society. Here's the argument - The Covington kids were acting like obnoxious, entitled shitheads. Period. But hours after the incident, the main kid's parent's use a high end PR firm from Louisville (with GOP ties) to release a statement, and just like that the media apologizes to the the Covington kids? FUCK THAT. Yes, the extreme left is absolutely wrong to doxx any of these kids, and the school shouldn't be closed today because of security threats. That is bad. But that does NOT ABSOLVE THE BEHAVIOR of these MAGA kids. Yet, the Trumpkin argument has been framed. These kids are completely innocent! Their behavior/reaction should be COMMENDED! The elder is a bad guy! FUCK YOU. The right is completely gaslighting. They've spun a MORAL argument in to a legal argument in some way. "The elder misrepresented what took place! Let's completely ignore what we see with our actual eyes and exonerate the kids over some bullshit technicality!" Looking at the broader picture: do you not see the problem with a large group of white, Catholic private school, privileged Trump supporters becoming HEROES for the way they acted in those videos? Are you fucking kidding me? Has the world gone completely insane? What the media and general, disinterested public is allowing is this: Any time a Trumpkin gets caught doing something shitty, we need to treat them as innocent until proven guilty, and "wait for all the facts to come out". There will be no timestamp on fact gathering. The right will just gaslight until the controversy goes away. If we continue to allow this bullshit the eventual result will be the normalization of ignorance/bigotry, and Trumpism takes over.13 points

We all know that kid. That grin. His buddies giggling and hollering behind him. The group's knowledge that their actions have no consequence. We all know that kid. And we all knew that eventually he was going to end up on national TV in a sweater pullover with neatly parted hair, talking softly. We all know that kid. And deep down we all knew that he was going to end up a victim, somehow. "Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter." Whatever.12 points

When Tyler Johnson and Jordan Whittington committed to Texas, they were both 5-stars. Since then they've both fallen out of the Top 50. When Kenyon Green and DeMarvin Leal committed to A&M, they were both 4-stars. Since then they've both enjoyed massive bumps up to 5-star status. But of course, that's due to Jimbo being a 'better evaluator' than Herman. Only when the reverse happens do they whine about a conspiracy.11 points

One year today. This is my second time to have a trip around the sun sober. I am beyond grateful I was able to have this year, if it is possible to be beyond grateful. I know I am very fortunate to have my life and my sanity today. It took me going drunkingly insane that only a hopeless alcoholic can know (still didn't sober up right away), while almost dying (cops should've shot me) to bring me to full on surrender. I thought I knew better 3+ years ago when I was slowly killing myself with liquor, but my mind kept trying to convince me that after almost two years sober I would get some self knowledge and beat this disease. It didn't work out well at all. Instead, and by the grace of my higher power, I was able to have a moment that brought me back in. I was dry and seeing a woman, we met when I was "sober" for a few weeks. I had stopped by to see her on a Friday night when nothing was going on. I had been drinking that day, but not enough for her to notice yet. After my third trip out to the car to (swill down as much vodka as I could to suppress the anxiety) get smokes, phone, whatever excuse it was, she busted me cold. I don't think I can describe the look, but if you drink like I do, you've seen it. A normal person sees someone, some "thing", that their face kind of recoils in bewilderment/disgust/pity/horror all at the same time. If you're lucky like I was, you get some grace and they ask WTF is wrong and how is it possible that a person like you could do this? If you're also lucky and have a moment of honesty because you know exactly who you are, you blurt out the words "I'm an alcoholic and I need some help sobering up so I can get to a meeting ASAP. I can't live like this." I knew what to do and I knew where to go. The jig was up. I was defeated, thank God. No telling how long it could've gone on. The anxiety, sweats, shakes, vomit, excuses, mind fuckery, lack of peace, no sleep, loneliness, hopelessness, bitterness, worry, fear, anger, isolation, finger pointing, resentment, hollow eyes, empty soul, and gut rot would have continued until I died or I had another moment to take action. We never know if it will come again. I got mine and couldn't let it pass by. The ride has gone faster and smoother than the first time because I quit expecting anything. I let go. I've found complete and total surrender. I know who I am and I know what afflicts me. I am cool with both. I'm just a guy who has a different view and experience of life than most, but I'm not alone. I've seen the only thing worse than hell, complete darkness, but I made it back to the light. I am one of the lucky ones. I'm alive. Grateful for all of you on this board and for the fellowship I get to share with folks like me. It's truly a remarkable life worth living. If any of you out there are lurking, the scariest part of this deal is making the call or walking in to ask for help. There's plenty of help out there with some cool people you never knew existed. I hope you find the peace you need without eating a bullet or dying a slow lonely death. The only constant is change, why not try it? Much love.11 points

LOL @ these Trump supporters that wanna turn on him now. WTF did you expect, you stupid motherfuckers? This is exactly who you supported. He fucked over any group he could and you were fine with it, but after missing a couple paychecks, you pieces of shit decide you've had enough? LOL Fuck all of you.8 points

It’s really not that hard. The Russians gave a bunch of money to the NRA. The NRA gave a bunch of money to the Trumplicans. Some, maybe most, of the trumplicans knew that. Now they’re all scared shitless running interference.8 points

I'm pretty much at the "I don't give a fuck what anyone else says" phase. Herman has a small window to kick down the door on the SEC mystique and establish ourselves back atop the pecking order of college football, and he is currently in that window has has taken enough steps in the right direction to make it feasible. He's recruited well, with some gaps, he seems to have evaluated extremely well, and if he takes another step forward this season with improved OL play, and can keep a status quo or close on defense, he will pretty much be there if he can get one more great recruiting class under his belt. Then all the shit other programs say will be just white noise.8 points

I don’t know about most of you guys, but I find this entire incident pretty hilarious. First you got the MAGA white privilege white guys who are probably both acting like privilege pricks and simply dumb teenagers like we all have been. Then you get the black Israelites, which I had never heard of before but am now not suprised exist since I suppose they consider themselves the true chosen ones. Then you get some Native American guy bangin a drums who is either trying to diffuse the situation or does something else then runs to the media and blows the whole thing up. What better embodiment of current trump American could you possibly come up with? Nobody knows whose right, nobody really is right, but its national fucking news that they all start some sort of mild controversy against each other. Of course nobody really even gets hurt. 2019 America. Amusing ourselves to death. I thinks we’ll get past this one.6 points

You're missing the point. NBC should not be doing this interview with a 16 year old kid, especially when a significant portion of people think he was in the wrong and the incident is still so fresh in people's minds. I think it's completely unfair for him and he's walking into a firestorm. Whether it was the decision of the PR firm, his parents, or the kid himself, setting up this interview was a terrible idea.5 points

Huh...using John Brotherton's name on the menu seems like an odd choice. I'm sure there's some kind of back story here and you know a lot more about all this shit than me, but that's certainly not the one name I'd choose to be associated with. Btw, that thing looks fucking good.5 points

It's sad how predictable all of this is for those guys man...World telling you something you don't want to believe? Well, shit, lets just ignore it and double down by joining an Ag only ranking system made by Good 'Ole FIghtin' Texas Aggies! They'll tell us the truth, and in no way will we be living in an echo chamber completely lacking of any diversity of thought! Why be challenged and develop much needed critical thinking skills when we can just sit on our stumps and gaze forever at our own navels? They think they're superior but this is literally the same shit that the Baylor rape zealots did when they eschewed 247 and started their own website where they can enjoy shaming and assaulting women in the comfort of their own worldview.5 points

That's cute. Hey Perroni, remember when DeShon Elliott was a Unanimous All-American for us while Larry Pryor and Justin Dunning completely flamed out at A&M? Bet you weren't complaining about their respective rankings then.5 points

When you lack real trophies, you cling to phantom prizes like recruiting rankings, close losses, national championship winning coach, etc. It's been the Aggy coping mechanism forever.5 points

The funny thing is, that's utterly false. Not that long ago, we effectively DID have pretty close to "free" college education -- public universities were accessible to all for next-to-nothing. Check out what tuition was at UT 50 years ago (1969). Compare that to the average wage, and you'll see that a person could pay their college tuition by working just a few hours a week. Today, it takes 56 hours a week of work to pay tuition (in other words, it can't be done). Not that long ago, we had a top marginal tax rate of over NINETY percent. Those periods coincided with the most prosperous decades in US history. Just a couple of examples of the OPPOSITE being true. During the Great Prosperity, we had high marginal tax rates, we had nearly-free public university tuition, health care costs as a percent of GDP were WAY lower, etc. etc. Having strong mechanisms to insure the continuation of the common good is actually ESSENTIAL to healthy, functioning capitalism. Not only is it not "socialism" (a meaningless word, as nobody of any substance is advocating for the workers to own the means of production), it's actually hand-in-hand with high-functioning capitalism. The irony, it's amazing.5 points

Remember our last halftime show at Pyle field? The Longhorn band showed class with a well done “Thanks for the Memoeries” theme, then the jackboot corpse band proudly strutted their penis-envy “saw ‘em off” crap formation to the delight of their mindless group think lemming followers. Assholes there didn’t have a clue.5 points

Can't believe kids publicly supporting a guy who incites violence at his rallies, calls for the execution of innocent black teenagers, thinks there are some very fine white supremists, encourges police to rough up those they've arrested, fantasizes about shooting people wthout losing his supporters, continues to refer to the free press, the target of his supporter's bomb threats, as Enemy of the People, etc... were involved in this altercation. If they're receiving death threats, the assholes sending them need to stop. In the meantime, maybe Christine Blasey Ford or Sandy Hook parents can give them some pointers on going into hiding.5 points
