Am I contemplating making a few $5 donations in the names of Impeachmyass Now and Ima Moron so that they scroll across the screen while he's speaking? Maybe..... Would I do so via credit card so I can dispute the charges immediately after? Like, super maybe......11 points

Thought I’d throw out an update for those who are interested: Ben’s now a little over 19 months. He. Is. A. Bad. Ass. He’s been attending a Mother’s Day Out program at a local church, and the ladies that manage the room love him. Unfortunately, he’s very susceptible to respiratory infections and has been through the RSV crap a few times. We’ve been pretty lucky so far with only one hospitalization over the last year. We’ve had to put him on oxygen at home at night probably 4 times over the last year (about a week on O2 for each instance). It’s a hell of a process, and usually involves duct tape so he can’t pull the nasal cannula out while he’s sleeping. The main reason for the tape is to keep him from bending his arms so he can’t reach his face. Very thankful for the NICU nurse that gave us the pro tip. The coolest thing is that Ben is now starting to sign a bunch. He’s got a few of them down pat, which is awesome. He’s also starting to talk a little bit. Last week I got in the car to go to lunch with my wife and Ben, who was in the back seat. I got in and totally got an excited “DADDA!” Unfortunately, my wife was chopping onions in the car for some damn reason... Ben’s still doing physical therapy every week. He isn’t crawling or walking yet, but damn if the kid can’t butt scoot around with the best of them. He’s also doing a great job of feeding himself and is doing great with his cup and drinking. So far we’ve continued to be very blessed with his health, with no significant health issues. I am continually amazed by the kindness of strangers we run into. Ben waves at just about everyone who makes eye contact, and it’s amazing how many people wave back and stop and coo at him. So, still a lot to figure out in the long run, but things are going fantastically well, and I’m so proud of our little guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk11 points

- Bought his rings/got his wedding outfits dry-cleaned. Going to Prague Friday for his honeymoon. His fiance won't let him get a haircut. Bla, bla, bla. - Likes 2020 athlete Joel Williams. Raw athlete whose best fit is probably nickel. Probably LSU-bound. - Too early to say if any young WRs will transfer in response to the incoming class. McCoy not playing immediately + Whittington at RB will prevent a backlog there. - Anything can happen with Shepherd right now. Right now thinks he sticks with Texas and signs on NSD. - No idea what's going on with Demond Demas. Similar sort of recruit to Shepherd. Nothing matters until he signs. - Still work to do with Fred Davis. Washington met him recently, he has family in the state of Texas. - Lots of Texas ties with Ringo as well, UT is a top school for him. Holland apparently knew Ringo would be a GOAT CB prospect after five minutes of watching him in 7v7. Looks like an NFL corner already. - Justin Flowe's tape is incredible, he tore it up at the opening. Will be a tough pull, he has some interest in Texas and will make a visit. - Michael Henderson is an 'intriguing' athlete who should probably be a four-star. Not as athletic as Ja'Quinden Jackson, doesn't project cleanly to a position. Too short for a TE, lots of work to do if he wants to be a QB. - Most important recruit in 2020 is Ja'Quinden Jackson or Zach Evans. Thinks Jackson could help our DFW recruiting. Has the talent to be the next Cam Newton. - Evans is a generational prospect, can do anything, built like a thoroughbred, best RB prospect he's ever seen in his career. - Going to put in a CB to Arky for Lakia Henry once the periscope is finished. - Jaylon Jones to A&M wasn't a massive surprise. Didn't feel great about his Texas CB. There was talk about Jones giving A&M a silent last year. He was at UT's Elite Prospect Day and had a really strong relationship with Jason Washington. A&M has done a great job keeping their guys committed, probably won't flip. - He tweeted about Damien George back when he had no offers. Has to reshape his body, Texas is a top 3 school for him. - Never seen Major Burns in any setting, no input on him. - Texas not looking for a kicker in 2020. - Elias Ricks could visit Texas for the LSU game. - Herman will have some tough battles with Jimbo on his hands, but thinks he will finish ahead of A&M again this cycle. - By the end of spring, Texas could have Jaylen Garth committed. Chad Lindberg wants to wait a big longer. - No expected NSD surprises. Super Bowl was very boring, worst he's seen. - Texas is in a good spot with Mookie Cooper, but he's pushed back his decision timeline and is expanding his options. - Fiance bought him that hat, quote (Warning: Yelp Critic) is from a South Park episode. - LSU may bump Texas on NSD, but UT will finish in the top 5 without a doubt.8 points

Any recruit they got to commit this weekend was going to be the one that shows everyone that Jimbo is still in charge in Texas. It did not matter who it was or where the kid was from. San Antonio kid? --- Oh another San Antonio kid just like last year and this one they desperately wanted from a school that always sends kids to UT. Dallas - Vodka Tom can't recruit DFW - it's Jimbo Territory. Austin - It must sting that the best recruit in their backyard belongs to Jimbo. It's no surprise that a CB would look at both depth charts and commit early to Aggie. Does it suck to lose a really good Texas kid? Sure. But it's Texas. On to the next kid or if we don't like the next kid on to someone out of state because the staff trust their evaluations and aren't scared.8 points

I doubt I'll ever be fully interested enough to find the time to post some of the data I've been tinkering with, but I have some thoughts about the premise you reference. Everyone of course knows that rankings matter and so on and so forth. Rankings can also get inflated, and they can trend pretty strongly at times towards groupthink inflation at the analyst level. A good example of this occurs when a school riding high starts going after a player and his ranking begins to climb without any other new data points. This happened with Texas in the 2000's, Notre Dame before then, and you could argue it's happening now with the SEC in general. Rather than leave it at that, I played around with something like the last 4 classes, and rankings for players within each state, and then compared the top 100 national players distributed by state versus overall share of national population. ie., if state x produces 10% of the top 100 players but contributes only 5% of the national population, that state either overindexes legitimately in producing CFB talent, or they're being overrated in the rankings. A quick and dirty continuation of this can be done by then looking at NFL distribution of players by state. Did the same percentage of overindexing occur for each state? Did it swing the other way? What happened? Texas, California and Florida all pretty much overindex with football talent produced against their population by more or less consistent percentages at the CFB and NFL levels. Two states stick way the fuck out, however, and in opposite directions. The state of Ohio is consistently underrated by the services vs how many players from OH actually wind up in the NFL. In the 10 states I looked at, which were the SEC states (minus KY, MO and AR), Texas, Cali, and Ohio, the difference wasn't even close. In the opposite direction is Georgia. That state appears to be consistently overrated when comparing recruiting rankings to players in the NFL. And I mean, it's dramatic. So which trough is a healthy chunk of the SEC feeding off of the most outside of FL and TX? Georgia. It's overrated and pumping the rankings for multiple SEC schools in the process. I'm traveling and don't have the numbers in front of me, so you can choose to take my word for it, dig in yourself, ignore it, or doubt it. But I figured I'd pass it on in case someone wanted to sniff around further, since I'd sort of sated my interest on it and got busy with other shit.5 points

I mean, making fun of a weird HS kid seems excessively mean spirited, even for us. Kid probably just turned 17, is obviously socially awkward, and, um, clearly isn't going to be having much success with the ladies any time soon. Additionally...he's from Austin and he has FULLY embraced the aTm cult years ahead of schedule. He's like 5-10 years ahead of the aggy curve in terms of general brainwashing...which means he almost certainly has no friends or peers in High school that he can talk or relate with...he's completely obsessed with something that doesn't even register on the radar for anyone he interacts with daily. At least most huge fucking dorks in HS normally can at least bullshit with a popular kid about a video game that kicks ass, or a musician or TV show. There's SOMETHING there in common. This little weirdo probably leans over his desk in class with sour, heavy breath and asks other students if they saw how the women's equestrian team at aTm finished this weekend, or if they heard about the commits at Jimbo's Super Bowl Party, and I'm certain he's met with looks of disgusted confusion and contempt as if the kid had started talking about how hot his mother is naked. I'm sure it's an even more sad and lonely experience than what it clearly looks like to us, and it looks pretty fucking sad. We should pity this loser... ...On the other hand, I'd bet money that this kid is going to be a name we see for years to come. He's already basically following Aggy recruiting as much as any of us, if his twitter is any indication. He's an equipment manager, and probably will try to be a trainer if he can in college, so the early groundwork for athlete stalking and jock riding is already there. He's researching and publishing content, almost certainly for free, with an aTm affiliated fan site. He's working on film production, which I'm sure will come in handy for recruiting video production. Is there any doubt a four year unpaid internship at Texags is in the works for this kid? I believe his resume is already better than anything EJ Holland started with to get into 247. You're basically looking at the next Taylor Hamm for the next 10-15 years. So get used to him. And on that note, yes, without looking, Im extremely confident that little troll blew his wad when Manziel touched him. Just look at that pinched, ecstatic little face. He knows a secret. So yeah, fuck this kid.5 points

First one for me in quite a while. Shook my head as I thought about some of them...don't really remember the games, of course, but remember the Mondays. Glad to not be on that other train last night. Nearly six months sober; God willing I cross that and pick up a chip this weekend. Thanks to all for keeping this post train rolling. Lots of love for the knowledge. Charlie D5 points

Ms CL tells me over the weekend, "I have a low tire, can you put air in it?" It was an inopportune time to tell me this, so I promptly forgot. (I fully admit that I need to be nagged about stuff like this because I'm not going to remember her saying it as I'm walking into a gym to coach a basketball game or whatever... I don't drive her car every day - I don't seen the warning lights to remind me) She goes to the gym early this morning and comes in the front door instead of the garage. Can you please take my car to put air in the tire? It's starting to make a noise it's so low." (oh shit) I knew right away what I was going to find. One look at it and it's flat. The warning message in the car says, "Loss of pressure in tire. Proceed with extreme caution." Run flats and there is no spare. I'm driving out of the neighborhood and it's making the BUMP-BUMP-BUMP-BUMP noise of a flat tire. Jesus Christ. She drove on it all weekend up and down the freeway like this, including this morning to the gym. I take it to the local Buccees to put air in it (the fuel light was also on, so I filled that up) and plan on taking it to the dealer this morning. Get it home and I can hear the air hissing out of it. "How long has it been like that?" "Since last Saturday" (a WEEK like this) "And did you have the same message? Loss of pressure" "Yeah, but it's run flat so I figured it wasn't that big a deal." My guess is that we're looking at at least two new run flat tires and that it will run about $800-1000 installed and balanced at the damn dealership. Sometimes if you catch those things early they can be patched, but not after a whole fucking week. SMDH FWIW, some of you from the old site might remember the story of her calling me from the parking garage of the OB-GYN's office that she had "hit something" and kept on driving because she didn't want to miss her appointment, could I please come change out her tire. I got there to find this: That car was a $24k 2003 Honda Accord. This car is a $70k Audi Q7. Some things never change except the price tag of her stupidity.5 points

Not sure if this is the right board to post this on, but what the hell, I’ve been curious. My wife and I had our fourth kiddo in June of last year. Our son has Down Syndrome. So far, we’ve been fortunate to avoid many of the significant health issues that kids with DS encounter; heart, respiratory, etc. Our little guy is a complete badass, and the happiest little man I’ve been around. Anyone else part of the 3/21 club? Happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

I'm glad you are a clinical psychologist qualified to make such determinations about others with regard to their mental state. By and large the vast majority of all abortions are not late-stage when the nerve endings in the fetus would've developed. I don't buy the bullshit company-line that life begins at conception that religious organizations and sycophants push upon anyone who will listen. This is why I said in a different post the only people who get any input into a decision about an abortion are the mother, the father, and their doctor. It doesn't make one single fuck either way what you, or I, or anyone else want or think because none of us will have anything to do with any aspect of the procedure or child if the decision were made to go the other way. If you want to carry something on your conscience that had fuckall to do with you then that's your choice but it doesn't weigh at all on mine.4 points

People say a lot of this stupid shit when they argue LeBron as the GOAT. "Well Jordan had better teams and less competition and lost in the first round more times" You know what MJ also did? Win 6 fucking championships. And 6 Finals MVPs. No other player has more than 3. Brady's SB record is probably even more untouchable when you think about it. 9 appearances. 6 wins. 4 MVPs. If he makes that 10 and 7 and 5 next season or before he retires you're looking at Gretzky level absurdity in the record books. He has more SB appearances than any team and now has as many wins as the Steelers in their entire franchise history. When you win to that dominant of a degree you don't get to bring his legacy down by making claims like "well the defense won the first 3 titles... he wasn't that great in this one..." No. Just stop. 6 rings as a starting QB. No he doesn't win 6 on a different team with a different coach. The Pats also dont win 6 with a different quarterback.4 points

Seriously, that shootout didn’t get you excited? And Stephen Dorff is so great in this. I’m interested how they lazily pinned this on the Indian trashman. And did the Dad take the fall in 1990? I swear some of you can’t let the game come to you.4 points
