  1. Oh stewardess, I speak Aggy... Translated: Victory Vaka posts a lot of shit on social media. Bryce Foster and Monkell Goodwine liked a twitter post. It was a pretty big deal. Vaka said he's going to get a West Coast movement going so it's probably going to happen. It will be reminiscent of the Gunnell Effect or the Daylon Mack #WRTS movement. Buckle up Looch and I talked emailed A&M commitment Eli Stowers. He's already committed so he kind of has to return my emails. I asked him if he's been recruiting for Aggy as Jimbo told him to do. He said he DM'd LJ Johnson Jr a pokemon picture. He said it was lit. One of the top backs in the state who we still have a slight chance of landing is a great fit because I don't know really, but I'm going to make some shit up. I mean he's still considering us. Who gives a fuck if he's a fit or not? And if its' not super obvious, and since I'm required to submit a word count for each day, it's going to super awesome if we actually get someone in Texas to commit to us. A Houston area source aka his head coach told me a generic statement that A&M is in good position. Just like these 4 other schools he's previously listed in his top 5. In case you didn't know, the OFFENSIVE LINE coach is recruiting the OFFENSIVE LINEMAN. I emailed someone in Florida. It took me literally 1 minute and 32 seconds to do that. I'm going to copy and paste names. Remember, you pay me money to do this. I pretty much spend the rest of the day playing call of Duty and eating sugar. Oh, in the not shocking tidbit that everyone already knew but we ignored because we're more desperate that Looch on a Grinder Date, most teams were not recruiting Terrence Lewis because he's got more flags than a yacht festival.

  7. Bacterial and typical Viral Pneumonia's aren't nearly as contagious as C19. And almost nobody with either is walking around and asymptomatic - like the main issue with C19 spread. So what is your point?

  8. i'm kinda torn on my testing stance right now. in a perfect world, we would have the supplies and ability to test 3-5mm per day, and literally blanket the country with tests. symptomatic, asymptomatic, guy walking down the street, random groupings of 500-1000 in different cities and states, etc. but we do not live in a perfect world, and we're having to get over that. on last week tonight a couple days ago, john oliver hit on the testing, and did a story we've all seen. a very sick woman trying to get a test, and she's unable. and while this is very sad, and fucking embarrassing for the country, her inability to get tested is not really the issue. she thinks she has it, and since there's no vaccine or treatment, there's nothing she can really do except wait it out, hydrate, and hope she won't need hospital admission/ventilator assistance. a positive test for her doesn't really help anyone, including her. but this is the problem. we don't have enough tests nationwide, so of course the stories that supplement this one fact will look like this. but they shouldn't. the stories should highlight the 350 asymptomatic workers who tested positive in a meat-packing plant. the stories should be about how random testing (for both the disease and the antibodies) can actually help us learn about the disease, where it's been, where it's going, and help establish a timeline to reopen the fucking country. i'm not mad about the john oliver stories. i'm a huge fan, and he hasn't really done testing, so it's fine. but i think it distracts us. i don't want people at home saying, "god, what a shame, that woman and people like her really should be able to get tested." that completely misses the point here, which i'm starting to think is not an accident. the country wants to reopen. r's and d's alike. we all do. but getting sick people tested isn't the key to that. getting well people tested is. this is like your kid who wants to play hockey, and you're not so sure, because it's dangerous and he's young and frail. so instead of waiting til next year while he works on skating skills and gets all the proper equipment, you say fuck it, make him play tomorrow, and on top of that, tell him he has to play in flip flops and no pads, while the other team is the canadian national hockey team. i don't know how this gets fixed. i don't even know how to get the focus on this as a news story. you can't really have a bunch of well people out and about yelling about getting tested. the only people out and about yelling are carrying long guns and probably wouldn't get tested if you offered it to them for free. we needed masks, and companies finally made a ton of masks. we needed ventilators, and i guess we made or purchased or traded (i know newsom sent some east) but we eventually got them. how in this situation, where we need tests (swabs, reagents, all the pieces) and have companies that can make them, can we not start churning them out? two months ago, pence said "we would have 6 million tests ready by the end of next week". that never happened. and now the task force isn't even really meeting anymore. and i'm sure trump doesn't want the numbers to keep going up, which will inevitably happen if/when testing ramps up. does somebody need to challenge him to get the total tests up to 25 or 50 million? does pelosi need to go on tv and say he can't get it done? or is testing slightly more than midsized european countries just the standard now for success? it's mind-bottling to me that this is how it's ending. we're reopening with no skates and no pads. no tests, and just a wait-and-see, hope-for-the-best attitude. it's absolutely mind-blowing, except that it isn't. it's absolutely expected.

  10. This refrain has come up several times this past week, and while it's fine on the surface, I'm not sure it's completely accurate. Granted, I'm speculating here, but there might not be a peep out of Texas HS coaches because they don't give a flying fuck. Dave Campbell or whoever already released that poll a year ago or so about Fisher being the least trusted college football coach in Texas. He's not coaching at the flagship university that represents the state of Texas. And he's not following Mack Brown, possibly the most beloved coach among Texas HS coaches ever. There was bound to be some bitterness when Mack was pushed out and replaced by imbecilic stump who struggled to tie his shoes, much less build relationships with coaches used to having their asses kissed. Fisher has none of that baggage. Additionally, he already seems wildly distrusted and unpopular. I'd argue the 52% of recruits out of state could just as easily be the quiet end result of backlash from Texas HS coaches, not the preliminary actions that warrant a rebuke. They probably aren't saying shit because they don't like the motherfucker, and they don't want to send their kids to play for that motherfucker. If they start bellyaching, then they actually have to advocate for their kids to attend school there. Jimbo doesn't seem to want the hassle of courting Texas coaches, and the coaches seem perfectly happy with that dynamic. If they start to bitch and moan, they're going to actually have to interact with the grimy hobbit. Herman is a prick, but at least he tries to engage well with the coaches.

I think it was Roma who said the other day, “it’s amazing to watch him commit what used to be political suicide every day.” “Today Trump nuked the town of Hackensack, NJ because someone there said something mean about him. But first, video of Joe Biden using the wrong fork at dinner. Will this kill his chances in the election and can the Democratic Party ever recover?”.

  19. Still waiting for you to back up your claim that people in this thread are advocating pushing through vaccines without proper trials. I don't know you but it seems you like pushing out false information which is precisely one of the main issues I have with republicans. That and claiming to be conservative while giving away trillions to billionaires. And not only failing to do their job but actively covering up for a criminal president and administration who at many times violates the Constitution, laws, and treats the office like his own personal atm. And now failing to react at all to a pandemic while actively encouraging dangerous disobedience to basic safety protocols that are getting more and more people killed. What is surely, if considering undocumented deaths due to zero testing of dead found outside of hospitals, over 100k Americans in only 2 months. You promote a propaganda culture that used to be massively annoying and destructive but now is downright dangerous and is getting people killed. I don't know if you are actually the doctor you claim to be, but if you are your direct support of this is a violation of your Hippocratic oath.

  20. Look, I don’t tote a gun around in public but I have more respect for someone boldly displaying their rights in public during a peaceful protest as opposed to wearing masks, running people over with vehicles, looting, and burning shit down. These people aren’t as extreme as you want to make them out to be.

  23. If the current admin is sucking china's dick, why isn't Europe playing soccer? Basketball? Asian pro basketball or baseball? Europe and Asia hang on what trump says i guess? Are you a flat earther? Do you not understand geography and how a contagion starting in fucking China (and quickly spread to Italy) would impact Asia and Europe much more quickly than North and South America? We have the benefit of oceans separating us from those regions and that inherently would have given us an advantage over France and the rest of Europe where they could easily take a train or hop a quick flight from Italy. Why has South Korea done such a good job of mitigation especially since they're in China's back yard? Seoul to Wuhan is the same distance as El Paso to Beaumont. Covid is not the fault of the person occupying the Oval Office, the response and resulting death and economic fallout is.

  26. I cannot imagine reacting to this story by speculating what the runner kid could have hypothetically done to not be gunned down in the street, why he was running in the first place, or rationalizing the actions of the shooters. Some of y'all need a fucking gut check. That was someone's kid. What if your kid got murdered running through a neighborhood? There's no reason for the killers to have done what they did. Zero. Legally they may get off based on the discussion of the ridiculous law upthread, and I doubt the prosecutor in buttfuck, GA is going to push this one. They still murdered the kid. And some of y'all need a reality check on the race angle too. There's zero chance they chase down a white kid to kill him. There's zero chance the NYT has to shine a light on it to get action if two black guys chase down a white runner.

  34. This is not the first time you've posted some melodrama about the government taking away our freedom without criteria. Do you know what the first result on google is for "criteria to open up America?" https://www.whitehouse.gov/openingamerica/#criteria That is the White House's criteria for opening America. Such criteria exist in big bold letters and we are not meeting them. There is even guidance for states that, while I imagine isn't legally binding at all, we can still look at and see TX is not meeting. And note for all those wanting to whine about politics - I have not said anything political here. Haven't used a name or made any value judgement on the criteria. Only pointing out that they do in fact exist and that we have not met them. Texas hasn't released any criteria to continue opening up because they know goddamn well we aren't prepared to actually meet any criteria supported by medical or public health experts. The governor just gave some vague "well of course there will be more cases, but we'll really look at the data" comment. So the only criteria to get to Phase II is to wait until May 18. Then it'll happen regardless because, again, the core of the plan is "Fuck it, I'm bored, let's roll the dice." I can't really debate "My mom let me play outside so I'm special and should get my way." Cool story bro. Honestly, that's far more intellectually honest than going on pretending like the government is trying to take away your civil liberties without criteria, which is blatantly untrue. The criteria exist plainly and the government is ignoring them to start opening up. That's kind of... The opposite.
