It’s a fucking beating to catchup to this freight train of a thread. Some of the idiotic tropes here need to be retired. 1) Texas is fine taking a breather from having to carry a conference. They’re fine with having plenty of other folks carry weight. There’s no interest in power plays. This was the fucking power play. 2) The fucking handwringing about the league dictating non-con scheduling is tedious. Part of the UT brand is playing difficult non-conference games. Word is 2 8 team divisions, 9 conference games every year. Allegedly going to avoid FCS scheduling and others want to stop doing so, such as Bama and Georgia. If there is a permanent cross-division team that each team is paired with one of the two cross-division games each year, you have to think Texas and Bama are paired up. One of the frenzied and panicked “demands” in the last few days from ATM was to not be in the same division as Texas, which has also been shut down.46 points

It will fascinating to read the inside story of how all this went down when the book comes out in a few years. In my mind in went down something like this Bama donor- I bet we could take a perfectly content program like ATM and have them expose their ass to the nation, get them kicked out of the conference into the Mountain West, and at the same time bring in a couple of programs that will make us all filthy rich. LSU donor- OK. Our normal bet of $1 ?43 points

LOL, Hi is this Dr. Dipshit from OleMiss? I'm Dr. ChiTownDumbAss, I happen to be a Sooner. I'm sure you've heard the big SEC news. How do you think we can collaborate? I was told this is what we should all be doing. And I do everything I'm told because I'm a dipshit.28 points
-
Why Ah say ah say Good Mawnin, Suh. I am gladdified and heartigasted to welcome all y'all Sooner bwahs to our lil ol' conference. Especially y'all from the Great State of Oklahoma. Ah would dearly love to collaborate. Y'see, (like always) the evil overarchin Fedral Gummint has seen fit to intersert itself into we proud Missippians PUHSONAL BIDNESS, such as how we vote, who we prosecute, and which innocent useful medicines we prescribe to our patients. Why just last week them Feds "intercepted" some useful meds that I bought on the FREE MARKET from a Meskin gennleman in Nuevo Laredo. Looks like some of my most upstandin patients are fixin t'git all twitchified and sandankerous, unless they get a little boost, a little taste, just a soupcon so to speak... ...of some of that famous Oklahoma lab-created finest. Reckon y'all could help? I'd rightly approximate it. Boomuh Soonuh.27 points

Lost in all this is the fact Finebaum very recently went on a tirade and called Texas “irrelevant.” And yet, our prospective move to the SEC has dominated CFB news, and we are on the cusp of changing college football for the next 30+ years. Fuck that two-faced, pink glasses wearing penis looking mother fucker.24 points

Evidently this is a move by the SEC powers that be meant to cripple the great Jimbo and prevent aggy football from becoming the fully operational Death Star they were clearly on track to becoming. Pooooooooor aggy22 points

Now that the subject of sardines has been broached, I'll ask, what does an aggy have in common with a sardine? They both come in a jar.19 points

They shoud put them in the other division, and then make Texas their cross division rival so they have to play us every year. Bama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida along with Texas would be the chef's kiss on this whole move17 points

Why? Fuck those schools. Esp Okie Lite. Fuck all of those people. They want to talk shit about us, horns down, say we are arrogant, this and that all the fucking time. They act like they can do it on their own. Well then, time to put up or shut up. The big 12 has treated us like fucking garbage for the past 10 years. This is what they get when they dont recognize what we did for that conference and those schools. Time for them to learn the hard way. Adios you fucks15 points

Oh, they get it. That’s why they are so hurt. Aggy isn’t mad right now, they are hurt. Some of these saps are typing with actual tears in their eyes. And my friend, those are the sweetest aggy tears of all15 points

I know I’m preaching to the choir here but, dear lord, PLEASE do everything you can to persuade anyone you know and love who is unvaccinated. Delta seems to have a slow ramp up into an area but once it hits, it’s a fast moving wildfire. Our numbers went up from two inpatients 10 days ago to 30+ as of Friday. 30+ doesn’t seem like a lot but we’ve been cruising along in single digits since March. The increase is very worrying. They are all unvaccinated. They’re skewing much younger - average age of 44. And we sent our first six pediatric cases on to Children’s to be admitted. It’s probably too late for this wave but please think of the healthcare workers. They’re at the end of their rope.14 points

It’d be funny if aggy pushed for Clemson or Florida State and the SEC said, “no can do. We have a gentleman’s agreement.”14 points

SEC schools are finally seeing full aggy. TX and OU meeting with the SEC along with a complaining aggy:14 points

For the younglings who were not around or too young to remember 1990 ... Arkansas' last appearance at DKR. The Show band of the Southwest expressed their view on Arkansas jumping ship to the SEC pretty damned well ...13 points

Maybe unpopular, but the majority of the Longhorns on SECRant talking shit are almost as cringeworthy as reading texags. They are not good at it and just comes across as lame. But I also never really understood signing up for a non Texas or even conference type message board. If you are gonna do it, at least do it as a troll.13 points
-
Just indescribably hilarious that the Aggies “SECSECSEC” recruiting pitch has so perfectly set up the Longhorns to come in with a “thanks, we’ll take it from here” strategy.13 points

This is from Pat Forde. He’s always been favorable when he talks about Texas barring the Herman period. I’ve listened to him on radio shows before and he seems get the dynamics in state. This article is greatness, thanks. I’m not the only who has heard stuff over the past few days so others can chime in if they’ve heard otherwise, but yeah, there’s allegedly a permanent cross division and then randomness going through the other 7 over 14 year periods, which isn’t completely different than what they have now. ATM is allegedly begging to keep South Carolina as its matchup. LSU and Florida and LSU and Bama don’t feel like they need to play each other every year either, but one of those would seem likely to stick. There is a groundswell of sentiment around this and allegedly numerous programs/conferences are talking about it. So much shit is flying around right now that I won’t be surprised if the scheduling stuff is bullshit, but the word is that it isn’t going to take long for everyone to get answers. I believe the sequence of events that unfolds this week will answer almost every question. The one question that been answered the same way by everyone is that Texas and OU leave the conference after the 2021-2022 cycle. To that point, I have a good friend that played college ball with a current Big 12 HC. He and his family were visiting mine down in Galveston this weekend and he texted his college roommate and teammate yesterday and I saw the text string with my own eyes: ”Do you think Texas and OU are really joining the SEC? If so, how you feeling?” ”We have been told that it is a done deal. It’s terrible news and we’re trying to figure out what we do next. It doesn’t make sense for us to remain in the next version of this conference though. “13 points

Says his initial reaction was just a function of being worried about it being a cultural fit.13 points

Thujone did all the original artwork for aggypedia. I did most of the original content. Ramjet owns and runs the site and has final say on all aspects. It is a collaborative project anyone who wants to can be involved with. And aggys say “sips” don’t work well with others.13 points
