What I've said for a while now is that Gullette's been ready to commit to UT. Ohio State, according to some, has been running second. A member of the family thinks it would be prudent for him to finish his visits this fall. It's not clear that that family member will continue to win the conversation. Gullette's ACL injury shook him a bit. He wants to get it over with in recruiting before spots get filled by other guys that have big senior seasons and such. (Note: it really doesn't matter whether that could, in fact, happen to him. the logic on his end is sound with that concern and i challenge anyone here to say they wouldn't be nervous in the same way.) What has also become clear is that ATM is going to attempt to make a hard push about committing, taking a big bag, and shutting everything down. If Hill gets to ATM this weekend, we've already talked about the bonkers shit being rumored. That's not the same with Gullette. His family's decision has a prayer of being leveraged with the old "now or never" premise. Can't do that to top 25 national guys but you can to the injured top 150 guy. So I think Texas is doing what we talked about recently. Trying to get guys in before the moneywhip and shut-it-down play by Fisher. Just telling guys that no matter what ATM says, they can't do more for the player in NIL and the player's spot at Texas is fine no matter what happens visiting ATM. If they can indeed get guys to shut it down and just not even fuck around with an ATM visit, even better, but I think that's got lower odds. Good work either way on the UT end. Recruits heading to the ATM shindig are getting coached by numerous schools about not falling for their now-or-never trap. We'll see how it goes. No shit. Some of the most ardent UT fans I know never went there and I don't give one fuck that they didn't. It's actually a pretty important part of the brand's power.35 points

49 in Sept. It sucks - went from jogging and a swimmer to tremors and shakes. I'm scared to death of fixing a light bulb on a ladder. I just pray it isn't MS. Neither have a blood test, it takes time. When your legs constantly feel like you hit your funny bone in your elbow, concern. when you have tremors so bad you can't shave it's an issue. Not looking for sympathy, just a Longhorn. I was at that Nebraska game in SA with Mackovic on 4th down with a pass to the TE to seal it. I was at the Michigan Rose Bowl. On my dorm, it was a shithole on Guadalupe street right across from Dobie (sp?) the big blue one. I accepted late it was the only dorm available (off campus, it was too late to get on campus). I originally was going to texam with my high school friend and now my ex-brother in law. We could walk to a great Greek restaurant down some steps and get a gyros, the arcade - Street Fighter tournaments, Gumby's pizza, Double Dave's I think too . I covered my expenses with internships at AA, PW, and Enron. And further down Taco Bell. I just want to see some good football before I go. I will donate and have already left some to UT. I realize this is a fun, thrash people board. Thrash away, it's ok. It won't offend me. Life Alumni Member, 2 degrees from UT, season ticket holder for years I lived in Texas, hate aggie, respect OU but want to beat them, contributor to UT. And for BigBend1812:17 points

When it comes to how others live their lives, a normal person is like is what they are doing affecting me? Are they hurting anyone? If not, then live and let live. The problem with highly religious people is they can't just leave others alone. They have to push their religions tenants onto everyone. Religion in politics is what is driving our country to the brink. Politics is compromise. There is no compromise with true believers and now the Republican party has done the same to politics with the evangelical/fundamentalist infection.14 points

My 91 year old mom is in the hospital. She has a 2017 Cadillac CTS that sits in her garage because she is not supposed to be driving, but she refused to get rid of it. I think the last time it was started was about 9 months ago when I took it to change the oil. My brother came in to help out while she is in the hospital and was going to use it rather than rent a car. Of course, it wouldn't start because the battery is dead. I went over there with jumper cables and my battery charger, but couldn't get it to jump. I left it on slow charge all night, but that didn't work either. I figured I would just put in a new battery and that would solve the problem. Guess again. Cadillac puts the battery in the trunk. Guess what you can't open when the battery is dead. There are only three ways to open the trunk. The electronic button on the dash, the electronic button on the key fob, and the emergency trunk release lever that's inside the trunk. Not about to be outsmarted by the man, I managed to talk my daughter into crawling into the trunk through the pass-through behind the back seat. She manages to find the emergency release lever and pop the trunk open. Viola, I have defeated the man. Not so fast my friend. I located the battery access door only to find that the opening is about 1/3 the size of the battery. I can admire the battery, but actually performing any service through that access hole is impossible. It now appears that in order to change the battery I have to remove the molding and carpeting from the bottom and one side of the trunk. At this point I have just surrendered to the man.11 points

One of the many pitiful parts of the anti-public education push in Texas is that it's being made by those who claim to be "originalists" and "conservatives" and the like. The Texas Declaration of Independence specifically cited the lack of a public education system as one of the reasons they were seceding from Mexico.11 points

I didn’t go to UT. But I’ve supported them every day of my life - mainly for being the only Native Texan in my family and as a child, getting dragged to Barnhill arena and (the other) Memorial Stadium for piggy games. My Wife is a grad and our oldest is a rising Soph in McCombs. Just bought season Tix this year. So lots of $$$ flowing to UT these days.🤘🏻10 points

What Shannon brings to the table is never going to score well with the recruiting rankings. That said, solid blocking TEs with good size and decent hands tend find themselves as vital contributors to rosters and the really good ones can unsexily go on to play for years in the NFL. I don't want to lose Shannon. Fortunately, the staff doesn't seem like they view the two players for the same role. How often has Sarkisian gone legit Aces in the past? Any? I haven't really thought about it.9 points

Basically every PAC game appearing on the PAC Network needs to be averaged in as a 0.0, and then the numbers would be repesentative.8 points

Hang in there. I've been tremor dominant Parkinson's for a decade and am still functional (just rode my bike seventeen miles). Push as best you can for a clear diagnosis, which clarifies the treatment options. Once you know what you're dealing with, you know the path and just have to keep grinding away. Best wishes.8 points
