I'm not sure we realize how good we have it. Texas is in the college football playoffs. Also, we have a head coach who both understands the importance of the trenches, but can also call the fuck out of an offense. Said coach can also recruit like a witch and has the athletic department aligned. Also, we recruited the no. 1 player in the land last year, who happens to be a Manning, and he's apparently a total badass QB. So Texas is fucking back. And not in a sarcastic way. We are back and it's beautiful. Then there are our rivals. Aggy just hired a guy straight out of a John Pinette joke, and then followed that up with a DC who was fired by Mack Brown four years ago. Plan 2024 is now more like Plan 1012 because they lost half of the mercenaries from the 2022 class, and their latest recruiting haul is dogshit. We are going to march into Pyle next year and crush those motherfuckers. Then there is OU. I don't think they have an offensive line next year. Also, they got to watch us win the Big 12 after beating us during the regular season, which feels like karma for the last 20 years. Speaking of the Big 12, we have scoreboard on every last one of those worthless, coattail-hanging assholes and we now can put that shit on ignore. Also, Brett Yormark. It was fun as fuck to boo that asshole in Arlington and shithead had to stand there and take it. Speaking of dickheads, it's only a matter of time before Fuck Farrell goes to prison for trying to bang an underage girl, we never have to listen to Tim Brando call another Texas game, and FCB is sitting home alone tonight. So fuck all those hoes. I guess the bottom line is that we are pretty much on top of the world, and it's Christmas Eve, and this community fucking rocks. So bottoms up, assholes.38 points

Am home alone while Mrs. Brat is at church, and the solitude brings tears that are flowing for my grandson who left us in July, 2022. I miss him so much, especially this time of the year.37 points

My wife spent hours planning a trip to Disney for our 8 year olds. She was on message boards and FB groups to try to figure out what to do and find the best deals. Once we decided what we were going to do. She spent a lot of time planning the reveal. How she was going to tell them. She did this all with little to no help from me. Ultimately she planned a scavenger hunt on Christmas morning. We were up late last night setting up the clues. We recorded the whole thing. She was so excited. Once they got the clues together they had to put them in order to reveal the surprise. "The Post Oaks Meet The Mouse March 2024". Once it dawns on them what is happening my daughter said into the camera she would rather have gotten a puppy.27 points

Another TexAgs Radio NCAA rule change recommendation : Get rid of NSD1 and move signing day back to February. Looch: "The early signing period cost A&M Lagway. If Klein had 2 months instead of a week and a half, he could have flipped him." So just to be clear Looch, aggy didn't lose Lagway. They just ran out of time. Got it.22 points

8 year old nephew dropped a good one today. While we’re eating dinner he unpromptedly belts out: “Eenie meenie miney mo catch a tiger by the… BOOBS” I just crack up instantly, and he’s quickly admonished by the other adults. He follows up “How come Uncle Al always laughs at the stuff you yell at me for!?” A conversation about appropriate humor followed, and my wife tells nephew and my niece (4.5) a clean joke. After the joke gets no response, my niece goes “see! Nobody laughed!”. I fucking lost it at that.18 points

I got a good one this year. I was extremely close to my grandfather growing up. He passed away with cancer my freshman year at UT. So, last night, my mom hands me a USB stick. Plug it in. It's all the home movies and pictures that he took from his time in the PTO during WWII until a few years after I was born. There are videos of trips to Yellowstone with my mom, his war buddies, etc... from the 50's. There are videos of me as a 3-year old at Lake Brownwood and Pioneer Town which is/was apparently in Wimberley. Really cool stuff as both a historian and one who wholeheartedly delves in nostalgia.17 points

The biggest reason for the success this season and moving forward is Bo Davis and Kyle Flood. Texas has two of the top LOS coaches in college football and it shows.17 points

I’m with you on Foster. I haven’t watched his huddle, but even though it sounds like it will take him until the fall of 2026 to be a player, I like the projection of his being an enormous dude I am not right there with you on not know that “run” is the past participle of “to run”. ”McKinley has run out of welcomes…” I would say that Surly and the Pancake Factory BMDs deserve a ton of props for prioritizing the lines for Sark’s first full recruiting class. Pulling in those 6 OLs has made all the difference with regards to giving the big uglies their props, their time in the spotlight, and da’ monies. Gracias a ustedes con plata!14 points

After I took the ASVAB, I got checks from the Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, Texas National Guard, DPS, the Texas County Sheriff's Association, the Candy Stripers and the Junior League and each one of them came with a note saying they could only be cashed under the condition that I agree to never apply for that branch of the service. That's how I ended up on Shaggy/Surly horns. They were the only ones who would take me.13 points

Nah, nukes get fucked in unique ways that the majority of other sailors don't. The work load is always high the entire time you're in. You work 3 or 4 section duty while others work 6 or 8. A critique and mast is just one mistake away, etc. @FartingMonk is another nuke here IIRC.11 points

Man, I can still hear the Hamm's jingle in my head from over 40 years ago. Hamms, Pfeiffer's (now THAT was cheap beer) and Grain Belt were staples amongst my MN and WI relatives. Just had the xmas phone call w/ my old man. He asked if Mrs GOTJ and I were starting a new "tradition" since the card we sent them didn't have a GC in it that was the same denomination as the one they sent us. I told him that yep, the only family getting gifts/cash from us were kids 18 and under. I guess he finally accepted we weren't bluffing anymore and took it with relative ease. But that may be due in large part to him being surprised to receive cards this year from both my oldest sister AND her oldest daughter for the first time in over a decade. There was a massive falling out when her oldest daughter graduated from college in Greeley, CO and my dad's she-devil evil bitch of a wife caused a ridiculous scene because she misread the ceremony instructions which caused them to arrive 3 hours early from their home in Fort Collins--an oh-so-taxing 40 minute drive away-- and of course that non-issue became a big fat hairy deal, culminating in the bitch publicly humiliating the graduate at a restaurant. My sister and her husband had enough and let out a good 10-15 years worth of anger later that night and effectively severed ties, telling my dad that they weren't going to subject themselves or their daughters to the toxicity of my dad's world. The graduating niece and her younger sister (who graduated from the same school the next year; my dad & his wife weren't invited) have happily gone about their lives since with minimal contact with their grandfather and the evil bitch. Anyway, sis has made good strides over the years with her journey and time in therapy. Our old man's pushing 80 so she's making small but meaningful acts of reconciliation by sending the occasional email and now an xmas card. Dad was stunned by this move (because he has been trained that a grudge is a grudge forever). He critiqued the card as being "not very festive" which had me biting my lip. But he was really surprised by the card he got from a name he didn't recognize with an address in New Mexico to discover it was a photo card featuring the granddaughter he hadn't seen since making an ass of himself and the entire table at her graduation, her husband and the 5 year old great granddaughter he never knew he had. Not that a great grandchild would matter much. He doesn't acknowledge the two great grandsons the younger granddaughter has with her husband. So it was an awkward call with me as he was recounting his surprise and wondering if I'd known about these "developments." Umm, yeah...dad. People who aren't more concerned with perpetuating grievances and perceived slights for over a decade enjoy the beauty and wonder of being actively involved with family members. It's called reciprocal love. No strings attached. What a concept! After the call I imagined him sitting there in his big, beautiful place in Fort Collins. Amassed with all of the shit he and his wife have bought over the years. And how empty and hollow that place must feel and sound. He's got grandkids and great grandkids within a day's drive in NM and SD that he'll never see if he doesn't have his Ebeneezer Scrooge visited by Marley's ghost moment. What a waste.11 points

Currently in this loop bigtime Brisket. Moved from LA to Houston to slow life down. Wife picks a lilly white suburb because the schools were great. Can't say as I blame because HISD. Anyway, kid is a super athletic, skinny little thing who never met anyone who wasn't a friend. We start the new school in 6th grade. A month in she is in the hospital diagnosed with Type1. She gets out then Covid. Depression sets in. 7th grade starts and she isn't the same. Scared to assert herself. Not making friends. Kids calling her the N word. Lucky for us volleyball creates a balance. She excels at that. Making elite teams at club, starting varsity, 1st team all district, but at school she is being ostracized. At first we think its because early teenager, and the usual struggles of girls that age, but then, through volleyball, we start to see that its simply "how things are" in areas like this. The light bulb kinda came on last year. The first tournament of the volleyball season we took the girls to eat and all the black girls meandered over to a table by themselves. In fact, of the 13 girls they all segregated. We lived in Woodland Hills in LA and it wasn't like this. Wife is from the West Coast(chinese and white) and doesn't get it. I remember this from my time growing up. Daughter is growing increasingly frustrated. Boys ask her out to a dance but then come back and say they aren't allowed to go. Wife and Daughter are both complaining. Daughter is fighting some hardcore depression. My wife's reaction isn't making things better. Solution is pretty simple to me. Move or accept the fact that you aren't making friends here and build relationships with the girls on your club team from other schools. My "fixit" isn't appreciated. So I will just hang out over here until y'all figure it out.10 points

I love this site... This is coming from a guy that is probably further on the right than most aggies. I didn't come here for politics, there are 1000's of sites for that. Im old enough to know that people have different points of views based on how they were raised and our life experiences. As an adult...[sort of] I can have a rational conversation with most anyone despite our different beliefs. That said, thank you for all the effort you have done to keep this place going. Please feel free to neg... don't give two shits what yall think and while I maybe more right of center than most I dont give a fuck what consenting adults do with each other. Thats their prerogative and none of my fucking business. Peace and Hook em.10 points
