  1. Someone posted the other day that this guy has as much rep as he does because he's spent time in the Cloak Room and struck all of the right chords and got pumped up that way. I think it's fatwa time, personally, and if someone in the CR is counterbalancing that shit, they should get some fucking negs too. Rep from the CR causing threads elsewhere to get fucked up by idiots has been a problem from inception. I realize that Jayden de Laura was a minor when he forcibly and violently raped a friend of his in a stairwell and all, but I hope that motherfucker gets ostracized from ever getting any further chances in college sports. Go get your second chance waiting tables or working construction, you piece of human shit. Motherfucker.

  8. My favorite part is I'm the poster who initially accused the motherfucker of being Ketchum. As a joke. But the guy is so fucking challenged that he couldn't/can't alter his behavior and obliviousness to the point that I'm not sure he understands anything other than pure literalness. He's Drax the Destroyer but stupid and a without the unintentional comedy. And he couldn't alter his behavior JUST ENOUGH to alter perception, so it's bascially become reality. He has become Ketchum, Destroyer of Bowls.

  12. During the cold snap last week my wife opened up all the cabinets in our bathrooms. All of which are on interior walls with rooms on the other side. Also the kitchen faucet cabinets. Which are on an island. At this point in life I decided fuck it, it’s not hurting anything so I kept my mouth shut. Pick your battles.

  15. I disagree with @atomheartbevo that this action by Abbott is wholly performative. It is performative, no argument there, but it is also a very good trial run to test just how state and federal military will react during a coup; a real coup that doesn't just use cos play cult crazies. If you think I'm being too Ledgey, no one except those cult crazies has suffered any punishment whatsoever. All of the GOP congresspersons, senators, planners (Roger Stone, Ali Alexander, Nick Fuentes, Michael Flynn, et al), donors, and such are still more than willing to keep trying. The leadup to January 6th was filled with stumping by Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, etc because of the January 5th Georgia Senate run-off between Loeffler and Warnock and the "Stop the Steal" campaign that began in November, 2020 was fully ramped up by then and all over social media, parroted by GOP reps (who then scrubbed their accounts). This drumbeat that Abbott began is going to keep pounding until something happens, and the GOP wants something to happen. Dangerous times right now.

  28. The state of Illinois should sue Texas. A suit which must be brought in the US Supreme Court. The claim should be one asking the Court to enjoin the Governor of Texas from levying war against a sister state. Because, you see, if this IS an “invasion” (per the Constitutional definition), then transporting “invaders” to another sovereign state is questionably an act of war. Force the SCOTUS to either 1) tell Illinois to go pound sand because this is not an “invasion” (thus telling Abbott he’s full of shit), or 2), it IS an invasion, and Abbott is acting illegally in waging war against other states by transporting hostile forces to them without their consent.

  34. Just as it took TV news outlets 3 years of Trump's presidency to call his lies lies, how long will it take them (if they ever dare do it) to refer to Trump as an authoritarian candidate? I think you could say, based on quotes from Trump, he desires to become a dictator. It's right there in the open. OBVIOUS. I was driving in the evening and turned on NPR's breathless coverage of the NH Primary. All the usual commentary and individual voter quotes to support whatever they think the story is. 1. It's absurd that the primary in tiny (but truly lovely) New Hampshire has such impact so early in the race. The talking heads explain why it and the even tinier nothing in Iowa are important: Perception. You fucking idiots are the ones who created the perception element and have magnified it every cycle by foisting wall to wall coverage on your audience. It will never change. I still hate it. 2. Break the template. Break your tone of aloof amusement about the process. Open your fucking eyes and see the real story: A would-be dictator who has announced his intentions to use law enforcement and the Army to crush enemies and control states. It's actually a pretty big story. Now to Sadie Plasma in Concord, "Mary Louise, I'm talking to a voter who is unhappy with both choices this year..." Exciting, enlightening man on the street commentary ensues. 3. Review your work. Have a meeting in the conference room. Provide donuts and fancy coffee. "What did we cover that was essential to the story of how this election could affect the republic? Did we actually report anything that resembled news? How many times did we rehash the same tired shit over and over? Are we journalists or lazy fuckwads who wouldn't know a watershed moment in history if it kicked us in the dick then ate one of our legs? American TV "journalism" is such a part of the problem. Atlantic published a great issue about What If Trump Wins? Many digestible stories of what is at stake from from how the government will become a Trump tool to the denial of history. I don't like living in an argument proof society. I hate living in a society where naked truth is either ignored or gussied up. I find myself just a little frustrated, my friends.
