We kind of touch on the issue of the impact of one recruiting class during various discussions on this board. I can't say that anyone is ever really convicted about the overall impact of a single class for a program. That considered, I'll contend that the 2019 class for Texas played a helpful role in seeing Tom Herman pushed out the door slightly less than two years after that dipshit signed these guys. Folks will often cite the 2018 and 2019 as both being highly ranked (3rd each cycle) and both being significant bombs in terms of results. I understand the sentiment because neither covered itself in glory, but the 2018 class was actually decent and, if reranked, probably winds up remaining in the top 10-15 range. We can argue personal opinions about the quality of the starting minutes from each player, but the top 9 players in the 2018 class all started an entire season or more for Texas. 3 of the top 9 were drafted. If Christian Jones is drafted, and it seems like he's probable in that regard, the 2018 class will have 6 NFL draftees. That doesn't include Cameron Dicker, who has a strong NFL career going at this point, or Cameron Rising, who Texas can't claim but will likely be drafted and was a solid evaluation, or Jamison, who played a lot in the back half of this season for the Carolina Panthers. Overall, that class yielded 18 full season or multi-season starters for Texas and landed 8 UT guys in the pros. That's not a great class, but that cannot be called a bad class, either. Now, 2019 was ranked on the same level as 2018. How did it do by comparison? The 2019 class yielded 6 full time starters plus Roschon Johnson. Unfortunately, some of those starters were starters out of pure necessity. -Chris Adimora started a bunch in 2020 and was rarely ever a factor outside of that season. -Marcus Washington was a starter because multiple WR prospects around him went down to injury, transfer, or were even worse than he was. -Does Jacoby Jones get regular rotation time these days? I don't think so. That leaves Whittington, Gbenda, and the lowest ranked recruit in that class, Tvondre Sweat, as quality starters. Roschon Johnson was also big time in this class. So, you wind up with 2 NFL draftees (assuming Whitt is UFA) and 4 quality starter types out of a group of 24 signees. That is a truly pathetic class. -Texas signed 3 OLs in the 2019 class and none of them ever factored into the depth chart at Texas. Javonne Shepherd truly sucked. Probably most importantly for Tom Herman is the way in which that class fell apart, which I think is a stronger indicator for killing a coach's tenure than just the talent quality in that class. I think is especially important going forward for programs because of the velocity in which a class can be disintegrated by the portal and NIL expectations/tampering. Consider this: -Multiple players, with whom early expectations were high, never contributed. Bru McCoy, the highest ranked player in the class, injured his pussy and never played a down. Degabriel Floyd, who Texas needed at LB early, never played a down due to medial issues. They needed Caleb Johnson to come in a make an impact, instead they ran him off during his first spring. Derian Brown had the head injury and his football career was over before it started. Peter Mpagi had the major heart problems that ended his career before it started. That's 5 guys out of 24 who never saw their first fall in a fucking uniform and pads. 21% of the class never existed except on paper. -Tyler Owens, Jake Smith, Brayden Liebrock, and Kenyatta Watson were all highly rated (top 155 nationally or better) and all wound up being pure busts. Between the OL recruits creating a massive long term hole, the transfers & medical retirements in semester 1, and the terrible evaluations at the top of the class, half the class was garbage from day one. Most of the others ended up not being better than replacement value, with only two real stars and two other solid college players. With only decent production from the 2017 and 2018 classes heading into the 2019 and 2020 seasons, the problems with the 2019 class simply compounded the problems within the program. Given that Herman ended up being widely despised by almost everybody, him being fired in early 2021 made sense. Whether it was Steve Sarkisian or anyone else, Herman especially, I'm not sure how anyone goes better than 7-5 in the 2021 season. Two transition classes (2017, 2021), two decent to solid classes (2018, 2020), and one enormous bomb of a class (2019) spelled trouble.24 points

Shared this video with my neighbor who is a wildly successful osteopath dealing with the lower spine and associated issues with the brain and legs. Like most folks in the medical profession I know, is for some reason, hardcore right-wing. His brief verbal response/armchair digital diagnosis was literally, "Holy shit, he really is on a rapid decline." I had to recuse myself from the cul-de-sac discussion to go jerk off.21 points

I was driving home one weekend in college from Austin to San Antonio. I was super hungover and as I was cruising down 35 I started to feel the rumblings. Shit was about to go down, literally, and time was not on my side. I knew the rest area was up on the right in a couple of miles so I start driving like a maniac weaving in and out of traffic at probably 100+ MPH in an attempt to get there before completely shitting all over myself and ruining the interior of my car. I barely make it in time, park, and go sprinting into the restroom. I wasn't even sure I turned off my engine. Thankfully, there isn't one soul in there. I have the entire disgusting place to myself. Now, the bathroom there has zero privacy. There are no real stalls, presumably to prevent random gay hookups. So all they have is a few metal toilets attached to the wall separated by small approximately 2' x 3' plank, but there are no doors and if there is anybody else in there, you are in full view. I imagine there is more privacy in a prison shitter. But desperate times call for desperate measures, so I scramble to the shitter in the furthest corner and completely let loose of my bowels. I'm sweating profusely, bent over in agony, and excruciatingly and noisily shooting liquid straight out of my asshole. At this time precise time, a tour bus unloads about 40 people to make a pit stop. They start queuing up about 4 deep to use the bathrooms as I'm dying on a stainless steel throne completely exposed, now with a live studio audience for the worst shit of my life. At first I was like... okay, you can do this. Just don't make eye contact with anyone. If you're lucky, you will actually die right here and now. But then, I realized, fuck it. If I'm going to be this vulnerable and uncomfortable, I might as well take a few of these sumbitches with me. So I start making eye contact with anyone who has the guts to look back at me, and staring their asses down. Shockingly, nobody really wanted any part of me, either. After what seemed like about a month (but was probably less than a minute), I finish up, wipe my ass with government supplied zero ply toilet paper, and try to stare down every last bastard on my way out of there. Worst shit ever. I think if I had to do it over again, I would have shit myself, drove the rest of the way home sitting in my own liquid feces and just sold the car.18 points

It was the fourth of July when we ruined that man's surly life. I remember chugging dos equis and glizzys in equal order, getting out of the pool, and then checking my phone where @immamac and @SydneyCarton destroyed the man's entire family. Then the rest of the horns with heart squad equally stomped on the man's liquified anus. SC and I met with him once at Pinkerton's, for some reason Shark Mccullogh was there as well, all he wanted to do was talk to Shark about how he was illegally paid (Side note: he wasn't) and how we could replicate this...mind you, this is AFTER the pancake factory and after we had legit IRS approval for the first-ever 501c3. We created a fucking space shuttle but this dude INSISTED on only riding on horseback to get to the moon. @Barbacoa fucking raised his hand at a NIL donation happy hour and asked the host/presenter about running a bag game. To this day, I do not think I have ever heard anything more out of touch with a situation. It was like asking Albert Einstein how to do basic addition and subtraction while he was talking about quantum physics. Also he still owes us like 800k in completely empty promises. Fuck him15 points

Whenever I get spend too much time ruminating about it, I remember that for awhile in our recent history, we had a leader who was nerdy enough to role model how to embrace that and not be afraid or too cool to show it by doing stuff like this....13 points

Long CSB Alert- I had a relative who was in senior leadership with the Customs and Border Patrol in Eagle Pass in the 90's. One day, when his boss was off, my relative was in charge of the crossing. One of the trucks trying to cross was ordered to pull off for a thorough secondary inspection. He was walking over to check it out when he saw the agents at the secondary inspection area talk to the driver, then wave the truck through without an inspection. My relative ordered other agents to stop the truck and then gave it a full inspection. Spoiler alert, they found a shitload of drugs. In the process of investigating, he discovered an extensive bribery scheme that implicated at least 3 agents. My relative, being honest and too trusting, immediately went and reported it to his boss, as well as local law enforcement/DA's office. Unfortunately for my relative, the corruption was pervasive and went WAY above his head. There was a token investigation, but some of the evidence disappeared and other evidence was "accidentally" tainted. With the key evidence missing, or tainted, the investigation was dropped without looking into anyone else's involvement. My relative had been with CBP over a decade and had a spotless record to that point, but he suddenly received several bullshit retaliatory allegations in the next few weeks, and was forced out of CBP. He also received multiple, extremely graphic and credible threats against his wife and kids unless he immediately left town, both from the cartel and his fellow agents (he recognized one of the voices). Stuff like how they would be tortured, killed and then buried in the desert where they'd never be found. He finally figured out the whole place was corrupt AF, decided not to push his luck, and moved very far away from the US/Mexico border with a quickness.13 points

Hilarious that A&M starts chirping about the Big 10 and a week later it comes out that the Big 10 and the SEC are forming a partnership that will inevitably lead to a merger. Every time they try to run screaming into the woods, Texas just walks them down like Jason Voorhees. There is no escape.13 points

I live in an area that is about 80% MAGA. And I'm probably a bit too vocal in my opinion of Trump. In fact, I flew this for a few weeks after he lost. I've lost quite a few friends up here over that cocksucker. If he wins in November, I expect to look out my window on Jan 20, 2025 and discover that my home is surrounded.12 points

Well for starters it’s the one and only good public buidling we’ve got and it’s so popular that pretty millennial women take their instagram shots and hang out in groups on nice afternoons on the outside terrace of the upper floors. Sometimes I go to the library to work, and it’s quite busy most days, mainly people working remotely, mostly millennial professionals, and lots of high school kids. But I don’t expect most of the people on this board to support anything they don’t use themselves or understand how dumb and bitter it sounds to talk about vacating and demolishing downtown city hall, so the hate for the library here is pretty much par for the course.11 points

Howard Buffett, the son of billionaire Warren Buffett, gave Ukraine 150 million of his personal money in 2022. In 2023, he bought a total of 360 million $ for Ukraine. At his own expense, he built kitchen factories in Bucha and Lozovaya, police stations in Borodyanka and Izyum, and a dog training center in Bucha. Buffett brings combine harvesters, tractors and seeds to Ukraine and gives them to farmers for free. Buys and brings mine clearance vehicles to Ukraine: in some areas, mine clearance is the main type of agricultural work... Buffett supports the Ukrainian police, brought dozens of DNA detection machines, bought service dogs of the highest level of training in the Netherlands and brought them to Ukraine. Buffett helps search for war criminals, created a separate organization in Ukraine. He financed the creation and operation of The Superhumans Center, an open prosthetics center near Lviv. I bought and brought 2,400 high-power generators... In September 2023, Buffett and Ukrzaliznytsia created the world's first kitchen train that can operate offline for 5-7 days during blackouts and produce 70 thousand servings of food during the week. How much money does Howard Buffett have? It's hard to say, because he spends them all the time, he has already spent half a billion on Ukraine. He fell in love with Ukraine, visited ten times during the war, and it feels like he spends more time in Ukraine than at home in the United States... He's the middle child of billionaire investor Warren Buffett. It was named after Howard Buffett, his grandfather, and Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett's favorite professor. As CEO and chairman of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation (HGBF), Buffett has traveled to more than 130 countries to document the challenges of preserving biodiversity and providing sufficient resources to meet people's needs. HGBF was one of five philanthropic groups that received вор 2.9 billion in Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares from Warren Buffett in July 2020. P.S. According to Forbes magazine, as of April 2023, Warren Buffett was ranked 5th in the ranking of the richest billionaires in the world with personal assets of 106 billion. $. In addition, Warren Buffett plans to donate most of his assets to charity.11 points

Ha. Okay, guy. You lose like 7 guys on defense and the defensive coordinator. You also don't have a cupcake schedule dealing with primitive G5 and Big 10 offenses, either. You won't sniff top 5, and that includes starting high draft picks at CB and DL. Also, no one can be classified as "staying" simply because they aren't getting swept into the portal during the coaching exit window. The only schools that could still enroll those guys are on the west coast. The April window will tell the tale. I can tell you with 100% certainty that at least one school will have a ton of dry powder ready in that window for high quality DL. I'm guessing there will be several. Let's see who is "staying" after May 1.10 points

Sarkisian basically viewed Glasscock as a pencil pusher. Let him walk. Now they're promoting upwards from within, and doing so with guys that haven't been entirely impressive. Those guys are going to do what they're told, however. I guess we'll see how it all works out. Anyone who has hired, fired, promoted, demoted, and managed knows that you're never going to bat 1.000 and it's very difficult to asymptote towards that. Anyone expecting all of Sarkisian's moves to be gold are willing put Mike Stoops, Brandon Marion, and Blake Gideon out of sight, out of mind. That's fine. I'm not saying the moves that are allegedly about to be announced won't be terrific, but we'll see. The JMJ guy was scared of his own fucking shadow a few years ago. It's great news for @Barbacoa and his lot, though, as I believe they were connected with him. Glasscock herded roughly 50 guys into understanding where they stood with regard to NIL deals, or lack thereof, and kept them on campus. You cannot win football games with your starting 22 and zero depth. Look to ATM last year and in 2024 for examples of how that works out. Seeing a guy, however uncouth some of you deem him to be, that handled that two cycles in a row move off to another school that knows what it is doing in NIL and the portal, to a promotion no less, isn't a good thing unless you have an agenda to spin or didn't like how he ran interference on some important shit at times that protected everyone.10 points

Today, I visited frontline positions at one of the most difficult areas of the frontline, in Robotyne, to speak with warriors in person and award those who have shown remarkable results in combat in recent weeks. I thanked them for their bravery and endurance in defending our positions and country. I also visited Zaporizhzhia, the East Air Force Command, and Kryvyi Rih. The primary focus was on defending our regions, people, social sphere, infrastructure, and industry from Russian air attacks. We are working to strengthen our ability to shoot down Russian missiles and drones. Our Air Force warriors and mobile air defense groups who counter Russian air terror deserve our gratitude and further strengthening. In this regard, we are also preparing for new negotiations with partners.9 points
