  1. I won't quibble with who should be RB1 or RB2 since we know they'll both play a ton. That said, I think Baxter gets shortshrifted by Texas fans. He was a true freshman and had to learn a ton on the fly. Not talking schematically, although that is true as well. I'm talking about the difference between being hurt and injured, knowing when to make one cut and get upfield, ball control under duress, etc. I will be kind of stunned if we don't witness a significant jump between Y1 and Y2.

  5. This is revisionist history. I've written about the guy's journey in multiple threads. You imbeciles that forget that recruiting and roster management aren't snapshots, usually whenever there is some exception somewhere that you get excited about bubbling up, can go fuck yourselves. Blue was a take. He then got kicked off of his team/quit to "focus on college". The staff expressed displeasure at that development. He asked to come back to the team. His team told him to fuck off. He looked into getting recruited by other powers, none of whom showed him a lick of interest (those dumb motherfuckers!!! hahahahaha, Greenspoint had it the whole way!!! haahaha!!!). Texas pursued Jam Miller and Leveon Moss in earnest to replace Blue. Miller bailed for somewhat comical reasons that I've posted about here several times and Moss was bought for numbers that didn't make sense to anyone but aggies. So Texas and Blue were left with each other. Blue shows up to campus with an attitude and expects early PT. Whines a bunch. Gets mentored by Johnson and Robinson, calms down and works hard, showing signs of growth. Then Blue announces that he's going to enter the portal. He waits to see all of the outreach from other schools before filing his paperwork. No one of consequence makes any sort of NIL offer (those dumb motherfuckers!!! hahahahaha, Greenspoint had it the whole way!!! haahaha!!!). Texas tells him if he enters the portal, good luck, but there is no coming back. They'd be happy to keep him otherwise. He decides to come back in the spring of 2023 and works hard, showing glimpses of hope. Guy starts getting snaps in semi-relevant time and looks fine, then fumbles on a close out drive against Wyoming. Buzz that he's in the doghouse. Not a single fucking poster on this entire site is telling us anything positive or hopeful about Blue being some sort of force during the middle of the 2023 seasons (those dumb motherfuckers!!! haahahahah, Greenspoint was thinking, not posting, but he was thinking he had it the whole way, hahahahahaha!!!!). Then Brooks gets hurt. Blue shows promise in his snaps and closes out the year well, except for the UW fumble. Now there is transfer interest. Blue locks up NIL help and is here for another year. Greenspoint and his ilk smirk as they realize they've fucking crushed this guy's journey . The staff, people around Blue, Robinson, NIL, recruiting, everyone thought at multiple points in time this guy was gone. He even announced he was leaving with a social media megaphone. This is the exception to the rule, and good for us and Blue with the way it's turned out.

  6. I like how nobody says anything about the clips all over the internet of Biden speaking clearly on important issues, but a few where his age/fatigue/stutter feature prominently "ehrmagerd I can't believe we have to vote for an senile guy." Listen to him more often, he knows his shit, and conveys it fine the vast majority of the time. He also has appointed smart competent people to do the hard work as any good leader would do, especially one that is older. If this was an open primary I'd probably lean towards a younger person, but the guy is the incumbent, he's done a good job by pretty much every metric, and he speaks clearly enough most of the time that I'm convinced he's fine mentally. But if there's any doubt whatsoever, he's not trump, who has was already a complete moron, he's now showing legit signs of dementia and total disconnect from reality. It's a pretty fucking easy choice.

  13. While that isn't the law at present AFAIK, you could make a decent policy argument for it. Give a minor a firearm/access to a firearm? You are liable for any crime they commit with said firearm. I say that as someone who "gave" both of his minor children firearms. You know where those guns lived? A locked gun safe. I had the only key, kept well-hidden (seriously, they have no clue where it is). The only time they put their hands on those firearms were when I was present - we're going to a range, a ranch, etc. Once out there? Yes, they occasionally carried the firearm on their own. And if my son had decided to murder his buddy while they were out stalking squirrels....I should be at risk in that case. I am responsible for assessing his responsibility and mental state before I hand him a firearm. I'm the adult. I'm in charge, I'm responsible.

  20. I get lost on why there is some sort of ongoing comparison between Brock Purdy and JJ McCarthy, but get the fuck out of here intimating that their surrounding talent was comparable. Michigan had multiple TE options, two excellent backs, multiple future NFL WRs and an offensive line that will probably all play in the league, include a C and G that are highly likely to do so at a high level. Never mind the difference in dominating defense versus good defense and what that will do for an offense. Several things can be true at once. During the offseason, Worthy made sure he got his, unapologetically. During the season, the guy was a fucking killer. Coaches and players alike considered him a dawg and terrific teammate with a bunch of heart. I think it is time for people to check their criticisms of Worthy at Texas. He played injured and had a tremendous career and he was a team player.

  24. No. Because in that case, they are licensed by a separate authority (the State of Texas) that has adjudicated their competence to drive, and issued them a license to do so. That said, if you see that someone (minor or not) is drunk as hell and you hand them your keys, then you can be held liable (not strict liability, but liability). So, no need for a strict liability regime. In the case of a firearm, there is no such licensing mechanism in Texas (and in other states, it's actually illegal for a minor to possess a firearm - under federal law, it's illegal for a minor to possess a handgun). To BUY a gun, you have to be 21 for a handgun, 18 for a long gun. A minor can't obtain a firearm on their own. So, the burden is entirely on the adult procuring said firearm to assess whether the minor is responsible enough to put hands on a gun. It's not letting a kid work the electric mixer while baking a cake; it's handing them a deadly weapon. Yes, I think the burden can and should be strict liability for a crime committed by a minor with a firearm you gave them.

I'm cheap, so I prefer to not have to pay a plumber. All the while she complains about how I don't care to fix the issue. Anyhow, we decide to make tacos tonight, but we need taco seasoning. So I run to the store to get some while she browns the meat. I get home to find the ground meat suspended above the sink in a colander. She has apparently been draining the grease from cooked meat straight down the sink drain this whole time. Fml.
