Bullshit. If Biden loses to Trump, than most anyone would. This country is either intent on electing Trump, or not. Biden is a perfectly decent/good generic democratic president. He's not fucking Superman, but he's not fucking terrible, either. Taking the position that he's some ultra-shitty candidate, the worst possible choice to run against Trump, is not based on any objective reality. What, you think someone like Bernie would do better? Come the fuck on.10 points

Was supposed to be and extra (“background), “Ghoul #2”, for an episode of some new spooky kids series around the year 2000 (or 2001) and the episode was being directed by Anson Williams… a.k.a. “Potsie”. I was supposed to be quiet in the scene, but Potsie could tell that it would be stupid for the two ghouls in the scene to be quiet, so he gave me the line “ARRRRRRR!!!!” That took my one day pay from about $130 to $800. I will always respect him for that. SIDE NOTE: I had to sit in a chair in the Hair & Make Up trailer for 2-3 hours getting my ghoul face & head professionally done. During that time, some attractive teen actress popped in to get touched up. She was definitely a “15 will get you 20” age and that was much younger than I was, but I could see in the mirror that “the camera loved her.” About two years ago, I discovered that that girl was about a 15 year-old Kaley Cuoco. Potsie had an eye for talent.10 points

You don’t need to be an “agent” to be an asset. The Russians are skillful, sometimes more than us, at exploiting what people really need and want. Tucker is driven by resentment and anger at the elites who reject him. He tried to join the CIA and wasn’t wanted or taken seriously. He tried to be an important and thoughtful journalist and commentator and was laughed at. He thought he had respect from the Murdochs and the elite conservative class but they tossed him overboard. And finally, the Russians. Who will tell him he is not just a real journalist, he’s the only real one. The one man in the West who might make a difference, who might shape history. The only one who can be trusted to tell the story of Vladimir Putin, the man with his finger on the button. The Tsar of All Russia. It’s an old ploy. Despotic flattery.9 points

If he’s not actually in charge, who is actually negotiating with Congressional Republicans and why hasn’t McConnell or Johnson told the world that Biden isn’t actually in charge? Why did Kevin McCarthy constantly say privately that Biden was hosing them in negotiations and is mentally formidable? Seems to be a big disconnect between what they’re saying privately (or not saying) and the narrative that he’s old and feeble.9 points

I actually fucking hate Biden's handling of the gaza war and his approach to immigration and I wouldn't shit on someone for criticizing him for shit like that. It's the pretending the progressive shit they wanted him to do, and which he did and has been very fucking successful at its intended goals, wasn't successful because in their minds it wasn't good enough. It's the refusal to give him any credit on foreign policy or even call him "pro-war" for our support of Ukraine, even though he effectively fucking ended our drone program and actually pulled our troops out of Afghanistan. Demanding that the guy you vote for do something then shitting on him for doing that exact thing is extraordinarily stupid fucking politics.9 points

Patterson approached Kwiatkowski about two new zone installs specifically for the UW game. Kwiatkowski wasn't interested in engaging on it. Then Texas went out with it's usual set of calls and defenses and lost a playoff game. That's from a defensive coach on staff. I'm guessing Texas had no real interest in bringing Patterson back for anything since Kwiatkowski apparently has it all figured out.9 points

so i've been meaning to make a post about this. i've likened it the great chiseling. i think that's where we are. i feel like everything described in this thread is very true and depressing but i think it has something more to do with wealth coalescing at the top, and i think covid accelerated it. where is all the money going? it's all being funneled out of the working class. as a result, the chiseling. everything has to cost just $5 more for this or $3 for that, here's a microtransaction; fees for concert tickets are like 50% of the total cost now, which should be illegal. is that money going to the artist? very rarely. i have a feeling that we are in an artificially good economy. it's all a fucking sham. it's simple math. low unemployment? we have a border crisis! these are both artificial problems. everyone has a side hustle. everyone working two jobs. everyone complains about the tip screen tablet being flipped over, but that's just corporate costs being passed onto the customer. all the money is funneling to the top, as ever, but we've reached a tipping point where the dollars are fewer because wealth is accumulated and just sitting there, doing nothing except act as a societal anchor. so they (everyone selling something) are chiseling. pay your workers less, or only just enough, and try to cut every corner in the name of the next quarter's earnings in a similar manner to how mankind has treated the environment. but i thik it all boils down to the greed and competition of wealth accumulation. who are the shareholders? you? me? our 401ks that we can't access and therefore serve as a bullwark in boosting stock prices? lol. no. i'm not going all bilderburg or whatever here, but i think the competition for fewer and scarcer resources makes people desperate and makes humanity steep in its worst stink. so everyone is hustling to make it, but no one is getting anywhere. everyone around me seems to be fixing, and nobody seems to be building. if any of that makes sense.9 points

I've actually heard Biden speak. He is clearly plenty sharp and has great responses to questions. Giving the refusal to press charges, I'm quite confident the memory issues stated in the report are solely there as a red meat for Republican voters.8 points

From the size of the explosion, damn!!! This looks like it might have been the final assembly located out side of town, or maybe the town isn't there anymore.. A 250+ year old facility that produces ICBMs, oil and gas equipment, refrigeration equipment, metal-cutting equipment, castings, forgings, stampings and domestic electric appliances. Its about 900 miles NE of Kharkiv, maybe 400 miles deeper into Russia than any other targets? Perhaps another smoking accident? From Wiki: Votkinsk Plant, Izhevsk, Russia JSC Votkinsk Machine Building Plant was a machine and ballistic missile production enterprise based in Votkinsk, Republic of Udmurtia, Russia. Its production included the RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missile, Russia's most recent ICBM development, as well as the submarine-launched Bulava SLBM. The company has two separate facilities: a final assembly plant located some 12 kilometers outside of Votkinsk where missiles are assembled, and the main plant, located in downtown Votkinsk, where missile components as well as civil and consumer goods are produced. The plant from its foundation until 1917 During the mid-18th century, there arose a need for ironworks due to the depletion of forests around the existing mining operations in the Urals. This led to increased costs in transporting firewood from far-off areas, putting a strain on production expenses. To combat this issue, it was determined that the most practical solution would be to move the production facilities to regions with plentiful forests. As a result, the Izhevsk ironworks was founded between the years 1760 and 1763 with the sole aim of addressing this particular concern. The plants went on to manufacture anchors, railway equipment, ships, drilling machines, gold mine tractors, and various military equipment. Notably, starting in 1773, under the directive of Catherine the Great, the factory commenced the production of steel anchors for national military shipbuilding. Furthermore, during the initial half of the 19th century, the plant accounted for no less than 62% of the total anchor output in Russia. Missile production (from 1957 to the present time) In 1957, by the resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR and the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the enterprise was converted into the country's primary producer of ballistic missiles for the Soviet Armed Forces. In 1958, the plant delivered the first short-range attack missiles 8A61 developed by the Design Bureau-1 with a liquid-fueled engine and with a range of 150 km, adopted in July 1955. In 1962, by resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR and the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant started to master the production of more powerful tactical missiles 9M76, being a part of the mobile theatre ballistic missile TR-1 Temp. The first serial missile systems rolled out of the plant in 1966. In 1974, the plant began to produce intercontinental missiles 15ZH42 for the mobile intercontinental ballistic missile complex SS-16 Sinner, in 1975 - the intermediate-range ballistic missiles 15ZH45 for the complex SS-20 Saber, in 1976 - the short-range attack missiles 9M714 for the complex OTR-23 Oka, and in 1989 - the tactical missiles 9M79-1 fot[clarification needed] the complex OTR-21 Tochka. In 1998, the plant launched the production of one of the most recent intercontinental ballistic missiles 'RT-2PM2 Topol-M'. In 2006, the plant started mass production of the missiles '9K720 Iskander' (its NATO reporting name is SS-26 Stone). The company also manufactures oil and gas equipment, refrigeration equipment, metal-cutting equipment, castings, forgings, stampings and domestic electric appliances. In February 2024, a large explosion occurred at the testing facility of the plant.8 points
