  4. It's amazing how much Republicans love misleading stories about child sexual assault and exploitation, only to twist it and exploit it for their own political gains. It would be ironic if it wasn't so predictable.

  6. Worked at the FEC through undergrad. Loved working there, from being an usher to working security to being in the front office. The whole place was a blast and the people were cool to work with. Best times were when big shows would roll in -- you could meet the performers if you knew where to be when. I was never obnoxious about it, but I wasn't going to miss a chance to meet people. The best memories are shaking Stevie Ray's hand and working security outside of Van Halen's dressing room. Met all of them, they were all super cool, and Eddie warmed up for the show right in front of me. Thanks FEC for letting me meet and hang with my two guitar heroes.

  9. As the bracket selection committee gathers in a crowded hotel conference room, the NCAA president hushes the group in order to speak: ”Folks, I know we’ve got some tough decisions to make over the next few hours. Not everyone is going to be happy and some of you might wind up damned near upset. That said, we need to get to it. I just have one caveat that I think we can all agree to as we get underway - Texas A&M cannot make this tournament. I don’t like them and consider them a true threat to upend everything we hold dear if they make it in. β€œ ”Hear! Hear!” shouts the exuberant crowd in unison.

  10. Yep. There's no such thing as "normal Republicans" anymore. If you support the Republican party in 2024 you're either extremely ignorant or some kind of extremist. And if we're being honest the GQP has simply just taken the conservative values that have always existed to their most logical conclusion. They've just skipped the whole plausible deniability part.

  13. I'm far from sold on Terry but his adjustments after the 1-3 start are why we finished 9-9. Moving Hunter off ball, limiting Horton's minutes, and completely eliminating Oneyma's minutes were key adjustments that made us a better team. I'm not sold on RT but the haters should also recognize that RT made some pretty good decisions this year.

  16. One of the funniest things about this thread is people not realizing how heads of corporations and members of Congress bowed down to this criminal jerk off for 4 years while he was president and in position to make them richer. Then after he tried to overthrow the government they've done nothing but continue bowing at his feet just on the chance he could get elected again. There's zero backbone in corporate America and American politics. If someone has control of a political party like this they will be untouchable as no one will risk losing money or favor to oppose them. We've seen it play out in full since 2016 and yet so many people want to put their heads in the sand and act like this third world country dictator shit isn't already happening here. The last step is the courts. Right now he's under indictment but is being allowed to delay criminal trials and is allowed to continue to threaten people without being locked up pending trial. The courts are bending but as of this moment haven't broken yet. If they do break then it'll all be over. We're hanging on by a thread here.

  17. I am a very political person, and am very disappointed to discover there really isn’t a party in the U.S. that advocates limited government, inalienable rights, free-ish markets, fiscal responsibility and national security- all ideas that seem reasonable and tested to me. I alternate between anger and relief (β€œnot my monkey, not my circus” is liberating when confronted with idiocies from members of the party I used to claim).

  19. This has really hardened me against a lot of people. I spend a lot of time angry and a lot of time sad, really sad in a way I can’t accurately explain. I don’t engage on this topic for the most part in ordinary life because I realize I’ll come off as agitated at best and turn people off. It’s crazy making.

  31. I wasn’t sure when you wrote back on pg. 1: β€œAlso despite being old and senile, they knew he’s quick on his feet with a good comeback and a folksy smile.” I was hoping you were just characterizing the messaging from the opposition but I wasn’t certain. Going back I see an earlier post where you said: β€œYeah, it doesn’t matter. He could knock it out of the park and it will still be that he is β€˜old’ β€˜senile’ β€˜sounds awful’ β€˜not important’ β€˜doesn’t change anything.’” I even repped that post but I guess I forgot about it pretty quickly. Sorry for doubting you. Joe is old, sure. But he’s anything but senile. And anyone who’s followed his career at all over the past few decades knows that he’s prone to the occasional verbal gaffe. That’s just part of the package. But he knows the issues and knows the process and how things work. And frankly, I’m glad we’ve got an old cold warrior like Joe taking on Vladimir Putin rather than Liz Warren or Pete Buttigieg. Would either of them have been able to rally and expand NATO like Joe did in the face of Russian aggression? I’m not so sure. Biden has already cemented his place in the history books with that accomplishment. Having the Swedish Prime Minister in the house sitting next to the First Lady on the day that they were fully admitted to the alliance was a slam dunk. Ronald Reagan would be proud.

  32. Yep,but no way Trump can duplicate his former self--he's unhealthy, has no stamina--can watch him short circuit during every speech now, is a substantial number of brain cells lighter and only had a 3rd graders vocabulary initially. Even his nicknames no longer have any bite--sleepy Joe again? Yep, sleepy Joe beat that cheating ass and is campaigning from a place of power because America got sick of Dotard, and booted his bloated ass. Now, he'll remind and flog the American memory with his dim witted cons and antics. He's a dumber person than before, and it'll bear out.
