  1. We met the daughter's boyfriend's parents yesterday. It was going really well until the wife says about her husband, "Well, he's an aggy." <Record scratch> My wife and I are both like, "WHAT??!?!" But he says, "Yeah, I left A&M in '83 and came up here and realized 'That place is a cult.'" <Music starts up again>

  6. A few years ago, Bill Walton, for whatever reason, starts talking about the legendary Kansas basketball coach Ted Owens during a Pac 12 game with Dave Pasch and Jay Bilas, who Walton calls "Jake" to playfully get under his skin: Bill Walton- "Jake, you don't even know who Ted Owens is." Jay "Jake" Bilas- "Ted Owens recruited me!" Bill Walton- "For what?" 🤣🤣🤣

  9. Augie won it all 6 years into his tenure - 2002. Gus won it all 8 years into his tenure - 1975. Both coaches were unequivocally at at the top of their game at that juncture with multiple runner up finishes and both with another title soon there after. Pierce is in his 8th season and a national title isn’t anywhere on the horizon, he’s not going to make anyone’s top 10 coaching list, and most of us are hoping merely for a respectable year next year. He’s had his chance, it’s time to move on.

  11. RIP, Bill. I always enjoyed your weird yet educated take on everything under the sun, expounded upon seemingly at random, but always with kindness and humor. He loved our west coast and our conference as much as any of us did, and I loved him for it. Perhaps it is fitting that he passes at the very end of its existence. I cannot imagine him enjoying him watch his beloved Bruins and the rest of the west coast teams scattered to the winds. RIP, Bill. Truly an end of an era in so many ways.

  16. It is nightfall in Northern Europe. The Luftwaffe is running raids over various ports in Southern England as Allied troops and ships have aggregated. They will kill several hundred of our serviceman just tonight. The dead will be buried, the ships repaired, the decoy and preparations for the Day of Days will resume tomorrow. In 11 days time, the Day of Days will occur. Let us not forget the Americans who perished before that Day. Let us not forget that this is our holiday, but how many Brits, Canadians, French, Aussies, Kiwis, and 60 other countries suffered and died today so that those 5 beaches could be retaken. And then two other theaters from Italty to the South Pacific. So many had to die just to setup the even bigger death count at the finale. I hope and pray we never have to go through this shit again. I was fortunate enough to not have to have lost any family members who served in combat and they got live happy, long lives. But they knew plenty of of brothers that did die from WW2 to Korea to Vietnam to Afghanistan. I got to do the wreath changing at the tomb of the unknown soldier when I was just in 8th grade. I never knew why they picked me. I had a family of Naval service (and the other branches mixed in a bit). I had no idea the significance of the ceremony at the time and didn't for decades. But I'd like to think it was because the Sentries saw something in me that led them to believe I was and am a shithead. But I know a sacrifice when I see one. I wish I could go to my Grandfather or Father's gravesite today and recall the days they'd get together on Memorial day with their buddies and talk about their dead friends killed in action. I will take solace in the story my grandfather told me after he lost a lot of friends in theater. "The morning after Pearl Harbor, I got on the train and headed to Great Lakes Naval Station. It was mostly well-dressed men heading to work in the city, but I was still a young man and the only one not dressed in a suit. I didn't know if I had made a mistake. I got off the train at the GLNS stop and there were hundreds of boys, maybe thousands. We all had the same idea. Beat back evil. A lot of those fellas I trained with never made it back to Chicago alive. They died in various naval battles in the Pacific." Here's to you gentleman. RIP.

  18. Hey Everybody … As Rex and other good people conservatives informed us about our “unhinged” delusion and paranoia, there is nothing to really worry about with MAGA-GQP. The Texas Tribune reports the following: The Texas GQP voted Saturday on a platform that called for new laws to — require the Bible to be taught in public schools — require statewide elected leaders to win the popular vote in a majority of Texas counties — to make abortion a homicide — reverse recent name changes to military bases — “publicly honor the southern heroes” — demand that the U.S. government disclose “all pertinent information and knowledge” of UFOs. And the declare that illegal immigration is the “greatest threat to American security and sovereignty” and calls for the state and federal governments to devote all available resources to deporting undocumented immigrants. Again, nothing to worry about … especially when Trump is gone. This is not fascism or building a theocracy. Just "good people" doing good people things! https://www.texastribune.org/2024/05/25/texas-republican-party-convention-platform/

  24. I love the comments about her, and “the video is disturbing” warnings. Let’s be clear: the only thing disturbing about the video of Capitol security killing her dead as she tried to breach a hallway to get to members of Congress…is the fact that there aren’t 100 more videos just like it. They should have killed dozens of treasonous terrorists that day. Fuck that cunt.

  28. Walton was doing color for a Rockets game and Steve Francis put up a contested three early in the possession that clanged off the front of the rim. Walton said, "That was the worst shot in the history of the franchise." Probably not his best line, but one that made me laugh and stuck with me.
