JesusSD anticipates most of my response to you. It could be it was just another Aggie at the table tossing another of their Tourette's ejaculations. I've wondered for years now if the Aggies who generate these lies believe they are part of a psy-ops campaign against an enemy. Seriously. Their fake military can convince themselves of anything. I can imagine a meeting in a corps dorm as they pass around the "milk" jar. "Yea man! That's redass! We'll show those tu queers! Is it my turn for you to watch me jack off into the jar?" I also think the internet has concentrated their former eccentric, envious dislike for tu into a raging, jealous, self-righteous hatred. The non-2%ers are fully unhinged. I've become anthropologically obsessed them because of their unique jihad against a sports rival. No other rival in the nation is like them at all. They're more stalker than rival. I was at a meeting with people from the southeast. In one of the breaks, somebody asked where I was from. Texas. "Are you an Aggie?! We love the polite Aggies. They're always so well oriented as to their stadium which is the most awesome place and atmosphere I've ever experienced! My kids are all having second thoughts about going to my alma mater, and I don't blame them!" "No. I went to UT." "Tennessee doesn't have a school in Texas!" "The University of Texas." "Ugh! You entered the SEC like a nasty infection! The Aggies joined marching in their resplendent uniforms with unbelievable class!" They all started hissing and doing the Horns down. They became red in the face and proceeded to drag me outside for spitting on and kicking. I curled fetal like the coward Longhorn we all are. Eventually they stopped. They'd put in quite an effort as it was a Teams meeting over the phone, and I was at home at the time.16 points

In fairness it couldn't have been more different. Aggy joined the sec on its knees giving blowjobs and taking trains out of gratitude to be there. Texas joins the SEC as a peer to the big boys in the room.15 points

A 10 fucking second clip doesn’t let you get any context except that he’s not talking about what Hannity wants to focus on. This kind of shit is the problem. He may have rambled incoherently for two minutes, but if he did, why not post a two minute clip?14 points

I'm really sick of these "young progressives" who refuse to accept how the process works. Support the progressive in the primaries, be vocal, let your voice be heard. If the more moderate democrat wins the primary, support that person, because they are far more "liberal" than anyone nominated on the right (especially these days). I really think that someone more progressive will win a democratic primary in the next decade or so, but not yet. Stop demanding ideological purity in general elections. Vote for the person who is closer to your beliefs. Sitting home just lets the other side win, and they are showing themselves to be outrageously dangerous far right whack jobs. How is this so hard to understand? Israel is a perfect example. Biden has done more than just about any American politician at least asking for restraint. He's way closer to you than Trump who has literally said he'll provide more support to wipe out Palestine. You'll let him win because Biden doesn't align exactly with your belief? Give me a fucking break.13 points

Them ags love to tell their sip stories. Just wait til November 30th at Kyle Field. By god, I’m really gonna give ‘em something to remember and post about on TexAgs. I’ve been working with a personal trainer to be prepared to strut into Aggieland with a formidable pair of forearms trained to push sweet, old grandmas outta my way and down steps. My level of arrogance and despicable conduct will be told and retold for years. When I’m not pushing sweet Aggy grannies, I’ll be cussin’ aggy children. The most vile, uncivilized, and inappropriate tee yew filth spat out just to land upon the ears of those precious little future cosplay soldiers, farmers, and middle managers. I’ll soldier through the pearl clutching and gasping, the hisses, the “how dare yous” and “well, I nevers,” and probably have to stare down some aggy manlet with a hero complex who will retreat when he gets close enough to see the forearms. I’m gonna show ‘em a level of arrogance that they’ll think only existed in their minds and on their message boards. A loud, swaggering mix of bragging, boasting, cussing, and spitting while mocking BCS and those poooor aggies, and singing the praises of Austin and THE University. I’ll confirm their suspicions of me being the worst kind of sip by stating that I didn’t even graduate from Texas, I’m a tee shirt fan living off the generational wealth of my straight ticket Democrat voting family. Then again, if I did all of that and some aggy made a TexAgs post to bear witness and vent their disgust, the replies would be along the lines of, “Yeah, that’s what they all do. It’s who they are.”13 points

While I'd love for these stories to all be true, I find them all very unbelievable. Why would a Florida fan, at a lunch meeting, start a comparison of the way ATM and Texas joined the conference? Who thinks like that besides an aggie? Has anyone on this board ever gotten involved with a conversation about how either team "joined" the SEC with anyone else? I can't be the only person that finds that "topic" as banal and bizarre as part of any kind of conversation with another human.12 points

That is a great book...Small town in West Virginia. Truly shows the sacrifices made during the war. National Guard troops that were in the first wave on Omaha... hardly a family in town came away unscathed Jake McNiece and his demo squad. The movie The Dirty Dozen was based off him and his "Filthy Thirteen" They suffered such heavy casualties in Normandy and Holland that him and few others decided to join the Pathfinder units thinking they wouldn't be used again and could stay out of more combat. Nope, with troops surrounded in Bastogne, McNiece and his Pathfinders jumped in and then set up the Eureka beacons for follow on drops that gave the 101st, bullets, food, and medical supplies. csb//? the unit I served with is a direct descendant from that team and the other Pathfinder units that dropped into Normandy, Holland, and Operation Varsity (the drop into Germany just across the Rhine) In BOB, showing the jump into Holland, a replacement struggled to get out of his harness, fumbling with the quick release. Bull opened it for him. This quick release was put into the harness after the Airborne found out with their AAR after Normandy that many of the troops drowned in very shallow water (Rommel had flooded the marshes and areas thought to be used as drop zones and landing zones for the gliders) Many of those troops drowned due to the weigh of the equipment they had and with no quick release on their harnesses, they were unable to get out of their gear or even stand up in the shallow marshes. Those quick releases (maybe updated slightly) were still in use 38 yrs later when I went to jump school. I weighed about 150-155 lbs while in and the heaviest ruck (equipment pack) I jumped weighed in at right around 110 lbs. Like Toye said in BOB, I still had my chute, reserve chute, weapon and LBE to add in, so everything total was at least my body weight (or more!) getting up and out the door. Good times! 🤣12 points

They had our backs in the Revolutionary war via two big boom-boom sticks on wheels and naval support Napoleon was a G They suffered tremendously in the Big War The Maginot & Siegfried lines were static defenses adopted to stop WWI-style advances. Germany was just smarter via their adoption of mechanized units and the Ardennes were not as impenetrable as believed. During occupation they provided invaluable intel at great peril and loss if life to those involved. They also saved countless downed airmen. They honor today like no other country Allied support for the liberation of France. Their food is the tits...11 points

Guys. Today I was at a meeting with a space force customer. We were discussing missile warning and missile tracking payloads in low earth orbit and the topic of how Texas is going to the sec and everyone hates them came up. But I told them that when I’m on vacation I usually always run into someone from the SEC that doesn’t like aggy. so yeah.11 points

I believe that I have posted these here somewhere in the past. These are uniforms of soldiers that particpated in D-Day. They survived training. They survived storming the beach. They survived the day. They would survive many more days of combat and uncertainty until the surrender comes in May 1945. Many would not rotate home until late 1945 or early 1946. Many being overseas for two years or more. They were all survivors and badasses. One became a POW (newspaper clip below). All uniforms are ID'd. Co. B, 12th IR, 4th ID. WIA July 1944 357th IR, 90th ID. Became a POW later in the war but escaped. I will have to find the rest of the clipping. 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne. Was air dropped in. 1st ID 101st Airborne. Air dropped in. 56th Signal Battalion, 5th Corps 29th ID10 points

1400hrs-Normandy. The Germans begin their complete retreat from Omaha. The bridgehead establishment will begin in earnest in mere minutes. This is it, this is how it really begins. I put out our flag this morning. My two girls asked me why I was putting it out because I try to explain why most time (Memorial Day, Pearl Harbor, Independence Day, etc.). So I said "80th Anniversary of Operation Overlord, or D-Day." And they asked me what that meant, as much as I know about it. But I gotta get them to Vacation Bible School in a few minutes, so no time for long lobo lectures. So I simply said, "It's the reason we're here and free." God Bless all of those folks who died on those beaches, and Godspeed to those pressing forward at this exact moment as the Germans pull back, and make ready for the armor so the Allies can really rock 'n roll.9 points

Very cool... Not to derail the thread, but I was in Germany in the spring of '84 for a few weeks and got to fly into Tempelhof in Berlin to do a DZ survey for the airshow jump that was to be done there in West Berlin the following first week of May. It was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the end of the war. I was replaced in Germany a few days before the airshow, so I didn't get to jump in, but just getting to fly into Tempelhof (and flying over the wall) was a pretty big deal to a WWII history buff like myself. Hats off to ALL of the Greatest Generation. They truly saved the world.8 points
