  1. Is Bevo there Lobo? I am really interested to see if Bevo and Schloss have a natural bond and if Schloss willingly reaches out. Bevo is a huge part of our University and football program so if he has an instant affinity for Schloss I think that will speak volumes to our recruits. If you could, please take and post video of their initial encounter. Any still shots of Schloss petting bevo would also be appreciated - would prefer if taken from side so I can see as much as possible of both their faces.

  3. Secrant Take solace in this. With Texas joining the SEC, your existence as an Aggie has not hit rock bottom yet. When you are feeling down, just remind yourself that as bad as things are now, they are better than they will be in future.

  6. Your football team bought an entire class with Hefty bags full of cash and your fan base chest-thumped for years afterward about how you had more money than anyone, including Texas. There is no school more responsible for this current state of athletics, than your own. If you can acknowledge that and still believe that college sports are in jeopardy, then peace. But if you think TAMU is somehow above it and not largely responsible for it, then you're lying to yourself and everyone else.

  10. We really pillaged the entire A&M baseball program lol. Them boys got off the team bus after getting back from Omaha, high fived a bunch of A&M fans congratulating them, then all of them packed their shit for Texas. Not a single assistant stayed… I don’t think A&M has had a more sobering reality check in their history, and that is saying something

  14. Let me add that you played Florida twice in the College World Series and beat us twice. For the sake of this argument, we will assume we “lost like bitches.” But when I see your aggy post, I read this as an alumnus of a university who has won national championships in football, baseball and basketball (and tennis (m&w) and golf (m&w) and softball and swimming (m&w) and gymnastics and soccer and track (m&w). 47 UF National Championships in all so far. When I think of Aggie, I do not think of you “playing for all the marbles”, I think “Oh look - there goes aggy choking on yet another national championship opportunity.” Florida has been in the CWS championship game and lost three times. My reaction to that was always disappointment, and not that we deserved a cookie for being there and losing, or that I should be happy because the worthless mutts from Georgia were sitting at home, having lost their regional. Maybe that is why aggy always loses - you always fully achieve your goals before you get to a championship game.

  15. Having followed Texas sports for the better part of 30 years, this is fucking glorious. I don’t care if Schloss is an abject fucking failure here, although I hope, and expect, he will succeed and achieve more than he ever could with little brother. Texas football is finally back up, just as we crash the SEC and restart our rivalry with the Ags. They edge into a college baseball World Series hoping to become relevant in any major sport since the pre-Hitler days, only to lose the whole thing by a run and have their prized coach leave the next day for the evil Longhorns. Absolute fucking poetry. Days like today are glorious, hilarious, and will fuel the rivalry - and “evil Texas” rhetoric - for the next 50 years. Enjoy the aggy tears. They’re particularly salty today.

The've never seen this type of competitive spirit and are in for a rude awakening. *Texas hires A&M's best coach ever* A&M people now: "Waaaaaaaah! This is unethical! Schloss belongs in jail! WHAT WAS THE TIMELINE?????? This is SO UNFAIR waaaaaaaaaaaaah"

  18. I've said all along that this is likely a top 5 class. I just referenced two guys that I think Texas is about to get who help fulfill that prophecy. I've pushed and been pushed back on regarding the approach at DT, but have zero other complaints. Also, there's a really good chance that Sarkisian has actually gotten religion on NIL focus for DT. If that's so, Kenny Baker is going to look like a wizard and a bunch of folks are going to declare victory on his sheer recruiting prowess. I don't think much else needed to change. Texas is going to have to pass on a number of recruits because they like other guys better and there's only so much space. That is true this cycle with LB, DE, WR, OG, OT and TE, at least. The board should be careful how it interprets decisions of some of these guys. WR is a good example of my point. Ffrench isn't announcing soon. Johnson and Lockett are. The gamble may well be, and looks to be, to let Lockett make whatever choice he needs to make without a further push. There's also a ceiling for how far Texas will go for Johnson. They're not guaranteeing him or anyone else playing time. Texas is all in on 2 5 stars for good reason and will see where the chips fall for the 3rd guy.

  22. 1. Nebraska didn't leave because we get our way. Nebraska left because they couldn't fucking beat us and they couldn't get used to losing. 2. Colorado didn't leave because of us, they left because they were afraid to be left behind in the new and improved Pac-16 deal that aggy blew up AFTER Colorado had already made the jump. Sorry, hate when sportswriters get those events so god damned wrong when they are trying to push this narrative about Texas.

  23. Real talk: this was about getting the coach we wanted. "Owning" you guys was just a cherry on top. What you all seem to not understand is that you are a stepping stone baseball job and we are the best baseball job in the country. We could have taken Vitello from Tennessee, or any other coach from any other school. It's only your delusions of grandeur that are making this so painful for you. In the immortal words of Marlo Stanfield: You want it to be one way. But it's the other way.

"for that, i am sorry" "never in the history of college athletics is alignment more important" - AD, coaches, staff, etc "i need a great leader and Chris is the best leader i have ever known" super hard and emotional to leave due to love for players at A&M "OB im glad you are here" - talked about his answer the other night. "gave everything we possibly could to win the last ball game" want to publicly apologize to the TexAgs reporter (he used his name - Richard Zane?) "wasn't in the mood to talk about myself or the future" big culture guy, culture at Texas will be Toughness, Energy (elite effort), eXcellence (best version of yourself), Accountability, Selfless (greatest quality someone can have is humility, can't learn what you think you already know) - culture/core values. not something on a tshirt, what we will live program belongs to current players and former players "my job is to steward this program" recruiting: "always believed players make decisions in academics, player development, team success" "Texas is and will always be elite in all 3 of those areas" "have to prepare to compete in the major leagues of college baseball" "super excited to get to work - hook 'em" Q&A where is this program at and what do they need to do to compete? --> first order is to contact players and we can build a great program around them. have to have players as good as other teams. transfer portal era requires health, playing fundamental baseball and getting the breaks. lot to do in a short time. incoming portal players, HS players, etc BZ Houston Chronicle: when did CDC approach you? how tough is it to not let your players know? --> players know: it's miserable. same thing happened at TCU, got to call all those players. calling those hes allowed to call from A&M based on their eligibility. can't reach out to players based on rules. tried to preview with a few guys to give them a heads up before they landed. CDC: talk all the time. texas had a baseball coach, once they made that decision then we (after the game the other night) had serious convos. came to visit with me yesterday, we came to a decision FCB asked a question but who cares, because FCB. --> had a long talk about what it meant to be coach at Texas with Augie. never had a dream job, but never dreamed about A&M or Texas. Alignment: so important due to uncertainty. when you have someone like CDC who is in the meetings and will listen to the coach, he's a coaches AD, i run to that. not telling you they didn't have it at A&M just felt very good about the "narrowness" - short, straight, direct lines between president - chairman - CDC. comforting to a coach OB from Texags: coach on Monday night you said you went to A&M with that being your last job and that you mind hadn't changed beyond that. what changed and what would you say to A&M who supported you and feels intentionally misled? --> didn't intentionally mislead them. in that moment that's how he felt. no plans on coaching to 75-78. made choice to leave TCU because aligned with what he had going on. dove in with all he could to help them have their best program. that investment lasted through the last pitch of the national championship game. never wavered. if he had left AM for another school, interesting texts yesterday wouldn't have happened. "i get it" - can't ask for fanbase to support and be passionate and then expect everyone to be ok with a coach leaving for it's rival school. "i get it, i get it" - all i can say is i have a career too and a personal life. i have goals and felt like (no negative to A&M) te positive of the alignment and my relationship with Chris. know he can trust him. as hard as decision was couldn't walk away from it someone asked about NIL - how much did it figure into decision w/ Texas? --> kicked answer to CDC. A&M was fully committed in that area, i know Texas will be fully committed in that area. in general, NIL puts you in the game, but then it goes back to those 3 things he highlighted earlier. dont' want NIL first players. want winning players and people. Tyler Feldman? - asked about CDC. memory he can share that springboarded the friendship? --> talked about his first interaction at RIce/TCU and CDC and Coach Graham's relationship. next interaction was the TCU AD interview question about Texas/A&M rivalry and whats happening back in college station when they go back --> "it will be an experience for sure" - "i didn't do this to spite anybody" team has to be prepared mentally for it Bob B: how much of a distraction was Monday from a team, and players saying things on social media? --> can't control that. said it was sensitive so couldn't tell people. don't think Coach Elko sat down with Duke team before he left. don't think Monday was a distraction at all. know players can separate that. wasn't on the phone with chris before the game or anything like that. wanted to win a national championship, been there 8 times wanted that personally. wanted it for A&M. wantd to be part of the first national championship team there. if you were to ask coaches no 1 player on team was focused on anything other than winning ??? --> judge me on my actions and what i do over time. have to build relationships wit players. feel like staff has proven track record of doing things the right way. A&M will say this wasn't done the right way, i just don't know any other way it could be done. waiting a week wouldn't have been fair to A&M or Texas. Alex Miller with The Eagle - going back to timeline, discussions with Texas during season or post season during the run? --> no, talk with CDC all the time. no bare bones discussion of this. when i was at TCU, the rumors were there. can't control that. Joe Cook - how important was it to bring entire staff? --> other than working with CDC, this was the most important part. needed my guys with me Corey ??? - decision for career as well, in your opinion what makes this the right time and you the right person? --> right time: 1) open job 2) CDC is here with a contract and it was simply that. opportunity couldn't walk away from the hand shake with hook'em at the end was dorky as hell.

  29. 1) If people are ever looking for some sort of moral inspiration or sense of congenial camaraderie with head coaches of college or professional sports, that's their fucking problem. Getting tied to a highly paid employee, expected to win at the highest of levels, in an emotional way is fan idiocy at its finest. Win or get the fuck out. 2) Texas Baseball is a place where the "win or get the fuck out" mentality should be absolute. There's history and trophies to support that. With the portal and NIL, the expectation should always be to "win now". 3) Is there some sort of time in which high expectations are not met and yet circumstances didn't get ugly? What in the fuck are you even handwringing about, grandma?

  31. I'm sorry y'all. This is not a "home run" hire. It's a fucking "sparks flying from the busted light tower grand slam hire." You get one of the two best coaches in the country and his entire staff while pulling out the spine of your little brother "rival" after they've just had the briefest glimpse of glory before having it snatched away and just before kicking in the door to take over their beloved SECX3.

  33. What these gonads don't realize is they've created this beast that Texas is evil for the last hundred years. What's changed is CDC is the first AD we've had that is leaning into it instead of trying to convince people Texas is the good guy. So yes, all the things he's doing are to destroy the competition and lift up his Athletic Department. Thats his fucking job. That means we gutted Bama's Football staff so hard Saban finally said fuck it. That means we gutted one our rivals Baseball teams so bad its going to be a complete rebuild for them right before we walk into the SEC. Get to close to the sun , and we're going to shoot you out of the fucking sky. Texas A&M has flash money, and to be sure more than most. But they've blown their wad on Jimbo Fisher leaving them vulnerable, and we are going to make them pay dearly for it. OU and Piggy and the rest of the SEC better hope they don't end up with something we want too, CDC is going to find upgrades that have the largest impact on crushing his opponents and lifting his team.
