  1. Good. Tropical Storm without organization travels more westerly, destroys less and drops more rain. I know this becasue I've researched tu fuck out of storm systems in the last 7-8 minutes. I'm not an expert, but I'm close.

  4. The most egregious example of this is Horace Carswell, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for an extraordinary bombing mission. https://www.cmohs.org/recipients/horace-s-carswell-jr Carswell attended TAMU one year, transferred and graduated from TCU, lettering in football on teams with Sammy Baugh and Davey O'Brien. His family has had no association with TAMU. Under no circumstances should Carswell be "claimed" by TAMU. TAMU claiming Carswell as one of their MOH awardees, and an "Aggie who served in WWII" is stolen valor, pure and simple. It's outrageous and disgusting.

  13. Wow. ⚡️‼️ The secret of why Kyiv was not taken in three days was finally revealed by Putin! He said that when Russian troops were standing near Kyiv, the Western partners asked Russia to cease fire. And it did. But the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not. Russia was deceived, says Putin. Therefore, Putin continues that Russia, the aggressor, "simply cannot declare a ceasefire right now."

  15. I have no insider knowledge, but I'll take a stab (assuming that the money was equal): Eugene is nice. The weather is better than in Austin, although it still gets hot. Visiting in the summer and then coming back to hot AF Dallas may have given him pause. Far from family and high school friends. Some people like to go do their own thing. Plus maybe he wants to have fun in college - like fun fun - and doesn't think he can do that in Austin where he's so close to family / friends. Fewer people to report back to mom if you show your ass on Saturday night. Rashaad Samples / Lanning's staff are good recruiters. I'm sure they had a good pitch. I don't know a ton about Junior Adams, but having the WR be an OC suggests that WR will feature in the offense. Their WR room has plenty of talent, but isn't nearly as stacked as we are at the position. It's pretty much Evan Stewart and Tez Johnson. The others are contributors and one or two might even play on Sunday, but there are fewer people between Moore and the field at Oregon. I doubt the QB room had anything to do with this. I would think that factor favors Texas. But maybe he hit it off with Dante Moore in a way he didn't with Manning? I don't know. If he's not happy at Oregon he can always leave. Texas will welcome him with open arms and no one in his family will question the decision. He would probably catch a lot more shit at home if he tried to do the reverse. Him calling Evan Stewart a role model or whatever tells me that his judgment may be somewhat suspect, or at least that he's not using the normal metrics in making his decision. Stewart went to A&M for money and to be the feature WR. I don't think he cared that much about the larger university experience or the team's success. I don't fault Stewart for being merc, but I do fault him for being a duplicitous, lazy little shit. Maybe he got in Moore's ear and told him that all coaches are liars and that Moore needs to look out for No. 1 rather than listen to any coach's pitch. That would make sense if the bulk of your experience with coaches is Jimbo. Lanning probably seems like a Saint in contrast. Speaking of Evan Stewart, weed like legal in Oregon. It is not in Texas. One fewer thing to worry about on Saturday night. I'm sure that money had a lot to do with it, but based on what people have said on this board I'm assuming that we were happy to equal whatever Oregon was offering. So the things I've listed above seem to be the difference makers. Edit: And they do have snazzy uniforms. Not my style personally, but I'm a 40-year-old white dude.

Word is, heb storm relief is packed and ready. Just waiting to see where this one hits. When they rolled in the day after Harvey it was like a miracle on wheels. They were helping one week before the state and female. HeB also has another team to get damaged stores up and running asap. Well organized machine

  22. We’re handing out orange slices and juice boxes to our voters saying “just go out there and have fun” while getting kicked in the face by Trump because Biden has too much pride to let someone else run. I thought Hilary losing in 2016 was a mega fuckup, but if Biden loses this election in 2024 it will make 2016 look like a nip slip compared to the beef curtain that Biden is letting Trump pull over us all.

  32. I think that *was* the bar, and not only did he not clear it, he ran the wrong way on the approach and then face planted at the worst possible moment. If he wants to win, the bar is way, way higher than that now. He's losing, and the strategy of hiding him from any moment where he'd have to think on his feet - that just confirms every worst narrative about his decline. Hell, it confirms the worst-case scenario to me, and I think he's been a great president for the last four years. The insiders need to be telling him how stepping aside would be a heroic final political act (which it has a chance to be).

  34. If Joe Biden were up 5 or 6 points, holding onto him would make sense. He's losing right now, though. How on earth do people think he's going to make up ground by taking the occasional interview, praying he doesn't fuck everything up, and then hobbling on to the next one a few weeks later?

  36. Why would you want him to "fix" something you supported and celebrated? Or are you now admitting you fell for the Kremlin-backed campaign and that the whole thing was a stupid fucking mistake? The UK, a country to which you seem to have a strong affinity, is worse off in almost every way that one could imagine because of Brexit, which is exactly what Putin wanted. And guess what? Russia continues to support nationalists who loudly proclaim, "MAKE [insert name of whatever country] GREAT AGAIN!" while they fracture alliances and Balkanize the West.

  37. One dark night outside a small town in Minnesota, a fire started inside the local chemical plant and in a blink of an eye it exploded into massive flames. The alarm went out to all the fire departments for miles around. When the volunteer fire fighters appeared on the scene, the chemical company president rushed to the fire chief and said, "All our secret formulas are in the vault in the center of the plant. They must be saved. I will give $50,000 to the fire department that brings them out intact." But the roaring flames held the firefighters off. Soon more fire departments had to be called in as the situation became desperate. As the firemen arrived, the president shouted out that the offer was now $100,000 to the fire department who could bring out the company's secret files. From the distance, a lone siren was heard as another fire truck came into sight. It was the nearby Norwegian rural township volunteer fire company composed mainly of Norwegians over the age of 65. To everyone's amazement, that little run-down fire engine roared right past all the newer sleek engines that were parked outside the plant. Without even slowing down it drove straight into the middle of the inferno. Outside, the other firemen watched as the Norwegian old timers jumped off right in the middle of the fire fought it back on all sides. It was a performance and effort never seen before. Within a short time, the Norske old timers had extinguished the fire and had saved the secret formulas. The grateful chemical company president announced that for such a superhuman feat he was upping the reward to $200,000, and walked over to personally thank each of the brave fire fighters. The local TV news reporter rushed in to capture the event on film, asking their chief, "What are you going to do with all that money?" "Vell," said Ole Larsen, the 70-year-old fire chief, "Da first thing ve gonna do is fix da brakes on dat focking truck!
