Sorry but Blacks are tired of listening to what trunp and the radical right keep saying about Black people. It’s demeaning, anti American, and we’re tired of always having to be the nice ones when we’re being attacked. Calling us DEI hires? Yeah I’m fine with a Black preacher fighting back in this case.35 points

Stolen from Twitter. White Dudes for Harris and Blacks for Trump have so much in common. Number one: excited for the candidate Number two: fighting stereotypes Number three: all white membership32 points

Dear Democrats: Many Americans (myself included) will be voting Democrat for the first time in our lives this November. We’re not doing this because we agree with Democrats on policy; we’re doing it because we understand the need to stop Trump from destroying our Constitution. If you see us non-Democrat Kamala supporters on Twitter espousing beliefs you disagree with, like on taxes or guns or whatever, try to let it go. Don’t be jerks. Don’t disparage and argue, expecting us to toe the Democrat line, because we won’t. We’re not Democrats. Being hostile to us will backfire and endanger our alliance. We’ve made common cause with you in this election because our democracy faces an existential threat. We agree Trump is dangerous and we want to work with you to defeat him. Let’s be grateful for this mutual cooperation. We can go back to arguing and being opponents after November. Until then, we have a country to save.25 points

She has to appeal the mainstream and the mainstream wants the border fixed. It is not working and thinking it's fine is sticking your head in the sand will also lead to her losing. There hasn't been a legitimate push for immigration reform in 20 years. It is beyond time that it happens. No one allowed and everyone allowed is not feasible. There has to be a compromise. The far left purity tests are so tiring. This is why the far left always loses.22 points

To me, "weird" isn't the kid who got ignored and ate lunch alone. I have sympathy for that kid. Shit, I was that kid a few times in my life. And yes, I am weird. To me, it's more like the Aggie: there are bunch of them who have their own weird ass shit that is pretty gross to anyone looking in from the outside.21 points

I’m not convinced they’ve ever come to the conclusion that they can only rely on themselves. They got told that their steel mills and manufacturing got shipped overseas by big city globalist democrats. They got told that the environmentalists are shutting down the coal mines. They got told that it was Obama’s fault that the post recession recovery skipped their communities. They got told that Biden was going to shut down fracking and turn off their gas wells. They got told that the Muslims were coming to destroy their way of life. They got told that millions of brown people are streaming across the border to come take what little they have. They’ve been eating nothing but lies for decades and have absolutely no connection to reality. No ability to connect with what’s really happening. Because they actively seek out an echo chamber that is happy to feed them the lies that they desperately want to hear. They are told that the shining city on the hill is being torn down by everything different than rural white Christians. They are told that there’s no possible way that the party that represents minorities or gays or trans or cities could possibly be good for them. And in what is probably the greatest con of all time, Donald fucking Trump convinced them that he was the only one that could save them. By speaking in simple words and making fun of all of the things that they weren’t, they bought it. They swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. He perfectly fed them the lie that they wanted to hear. That the cause of their situation was a grand conspiracy against them and only he could set things right. A brilliant, white, man of god was going to lead the charge to bring back a time where Christian whites were superior to everyone else, men worked, women cooked and everyone else knew their place. They aren’t looking for bootstraps to pull themselves up by. They are looking for a party that will knock down anyone different than them so that they can climb over them.21 points

The reason "weird" works is that it touches the core of GOP's insecurities. They are so very concerned with being the "in" group, as evidenced by their constant screeching over media, Hollywood, tech, and pop-culture being aligned against them. Its why they cling so desperately to their B and C list celebrities, and why they elevate no-name mumble rappers simply bc the they're wearing a MAGA hat. Calling them Nazis or racists really doesn't move the needle. They just smirk and embrace it. But "weird" is the kid who got ignored at school and ate lunch alone.20 points

As someone who has a lifetime of child free living by choice, let me weigh into the fray here. (FWIW, I'm 50 years old and have been married 17 years. Neither of us wanted kids and want them even less for every day that goes by. We also have dozens of friends just like us and we have wonderful lives.) That being said, we're not offended by what he's saying. We just think he's stupid. It's like your 8 year old arguing with you. Why get upset about it? Everyone like me has ran across this guy dozens of times. They're perfectly normal and then they have kids which makes them think they're on a higher plane of existence. In reality, they're just the same person they were before but now just arrogant. We hear all the same phrases like "you'll regret it one day," or "who will take care of you when you're old" or "you don't know what you're missing," blah, blah, blah. The people with kids are always trying to convince the people without kids. It's never the other way around. It's like they're trying to convince themselves. Having kids doesn't make Vance original or a deep thinker. His views about it make him a walking cliche and it's one I've seen repeated over the years.20 points

You’re not “the base.” You’re comfortably left of Ilhan Omar. So you don’t have any accurate perspective of what “the base” thinks. Your political views are a minority and generally upset the base who we actually need to win this election. everyone here thinks immigrants play a key part of this economy and are a net good. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have policies in place as opposed to “fuck it, let them across and don’t bother doing anything.18 points

Recall in 2020 there was no Republican platform. It was only whatever Trump felt like at the moment. That’s what I think Project 2025‘s biggest flaw was to them: It was in writing.18 points

Not directed at you but... Equal rights Fair pay and worker conditions Economic security Healthcare affordability Improved education Decreased gun violence Improved environmental quality Improved civic involvement Only in America is that a liberal left agenda. In every other civilized country, those are the goals for everyone. It's the details on how to achieve it where the differences are found. What a fucking country.18 points

Their taxes and guns positions were only ever about "I gotta get me mine, screw everybody else" which is the starting point of a line that ends exactly where they are now. Put more charitably for those who truly were the frogs in the pot and didn't start out extreme, unlike the power brokers, believing in nothing except individuals over society necessarily ends up here. Personal freedom, individual liberty, and the right to be left alone all sound like good ideas in theory. But they only work within a functioning society; the Republican messaging that has fetishized the rugged individual and demonized collective society for decades absolutely leads to their current state. And I don't say this with pure malice by any means. All of that appealed to me as well for many years. But then I grew up and realized that we have moral responsibilities to help people less fortunate than we are, to follow the golden rule and leave others alone if we went to be left alone, and to share financial responsibility for valid government services as fairly as possible. And those pretty obvious truths are antithetical to the Republican Party. I was just a kid when the first clue made itself clear (GOP control led to higher deficits putting the lie to the "party of fiscal responsibility" BS). So yeah, I will deride a grown man who only just now started figuring it out. But maybe not to his face because the country needs him to vote correctly and his tweet shows that he might not if he gets his feelings hurt.16 points

I think I posted this in one of the baseball threads but never here. Brauninger is involved with a select baseball organization called, shockingly, "Twelve", and they're based, shockingly, out of Katy. After the Schlossnagle Maneuver, they announced to the parents of their organization that no players on their rosters were allowed to visit or talk to Texas. They're not a good enough organization to make that demand, but they are clearly insecure enough and dumb enough. When you see their teams, you know who they are before you can read the names on the jerseys. The coaches are all either swole fat or just fat, all with beards and many mullets, sunglasses with the connectors, usually in crocs. The dads fit the same profile, all wearing maroon at least partly. The moms are as stereotypical as you could imagine as well, jorts and bedazzled tops, "BASEBALL MOM" on either hat, shirt, or both. Baseball earrings as gaudy as a Mardi Gras float.16 points

There are many, many more high achieveing high school grads (1500+ SATs, 4.0 UW GPAs, steller extracurriculars) than there are available slots at the Top 20 or so elite private universities. This has created a market of angry/frustrated parents of these kids who eat up articles like this one from Forbes. What this all means is that if we don't flip Myron Chalres, I am going to do a 3am Clown-Porn-Bombing of this very recruiting board that most of you can't handle.14 points

I’m fine with this. Honestly the biggest mistake Democrats made in the 2000’s was alienating rural Democrats by requiring them to memorize and recite a urban coastal catechism preoccupied with coastal, big-city issues rather than focusing on representing their communities.14 points

Two weeks ago, millions of America pleaded to God to watch over this country. Three days later, the elderly President of the United States was diagnosed with Covid and three days after that dropped out of the race. It sure is interesting that most of the people who pleaded with God to send help refuse to even consider the possibility that his solution might not align with their political beliefs.14 points
