  1. Just donated to a political candidate for the first time ever. Did it for democracy. Did it for the future of this country. Did it for my wife and my two biracial daughters.

  2. Gotta be honest, I am jealous of people whose governors aren't total embarrassments. Shapiro's a great orator

  3. Working with others even if you disagree with them, standing up for the less fortunate, admitting mistakes and learning from them, respecting women, being a positive influence on younger generations, minding your own damn business, and on and on and on. These are qualities I think of when I think of great men. We have so many young men in this country who are completely lost and need to see more of this. Their idea of what it means to be a man is being warped by psychopaths.

  4. I told y'all that if he was the pick, you were gonna love Tim Walz once the word got out about him. Go fuck 'em up, Coach.

  5. I don’t remember the last time I was this fucking pumped about a presidential ticket. Yeah I was excited about Obama. But this is different. 2008 didn’t have the end of the republic lurking around the corner. It’s fucking on

  6. So damned excited to hear this news today. Walz to me represents something that, on the surface, seems lost in today's politics -- public service. That's not entirely true, of course, but it's felt that way. Walz embodies public service. A military vet, a teacher, a football coach, a congressman, a governor. There's something very American about his story. And while it may be a cliche, he epitomizes everything about "the guy you want to have a beer with." Comfortable in his own skin and authentic. We need more of that. Good luck to MAGA trying to demonize that. The juxtaposition between the Dem and Rep tickets could not be more stark. Now let's go win this thing!

  7. As much as we are fan-girling over Tim Walz right now, let's not lose sight of what Kamala Harris just did. She picked a running mate who can easily be seen as upstaging her. And that's tough for any politician--Donald Trump could never do it. A lot of people have alleged that was part of what was behind Bush's choice of Cheney rather than McCain. And I imagine that has to be particularly tough for a candidate who didn't go through the primary process and is herself still introducing herself to the voters. But she put her ego to the side and made the best pick for the campaign and for the country. Yeah, fellas--we got a winner on our hands.

  8. Shapiro is 100% on board. Really good to mention he's only halfway into his term and has a lot more to do.

  10. God bless Joe Biden. Wouldn't be at this point without his selfless act. True definition of "patriot."

  12. Commentator on CNN just said that Walz admitted before the speech that he had never used a teleprompter before.

  13. Goddamn, I’ve been saying this since college when I studied economics and read about why spending tax dollars on social welfare is ultimately better for GDP because a healthy, educated workforce is far more productive and efficient than the alternative. Man, if this guy could get that thought back into the mainstream, the future for America might not be so bleak.

  15. Walz: "And make no mistake, violent crime was up under Donald Trump. (pause) That's not even counting the crimes he committed."

  17. Everything about that rally was perfect except for one thing: I really wish one of them would've given Biden a shout-out. His graceful decision to step aside deserves our gratitude.

  19. I cannot believe how much my mood about this reaction has changed since the day Joe Biden dropped out. And that it keeps getting better. This is the best version of the democratic party I've seen in my entire life. I am so giddy with how they're responding.
