  2. That makes me happy to hear. My own Fox-obsessed dad was 83yo four years ago. His age was obviously a risk factor, but he was actually in pretty damn good shape for his age since he walked three miles a day and was not overweight in the slightest. At the beginning of the pandemic, I had a direct line to the governor's office through my previous job and got quick messaging to my elderly Republican parents as a result. Normally, they wouldn't have listened to my liberal ass (they certainly didn't from my health practitioner sister), but because they trusted what Republican Gov. Abbott was saying, they actually abided by all the proscribed precautions at the outset. It was all over once Abbott changed his tune that summer and encouraged everyone to return to normal living. My parents became lax about the whole thing, especially after seeing Trump survive the virus and my dad ending up catching it just before Thanksgiving at game night with some of his buddies when one of them showed up and coughed on everyone at the table. The guy who brought it died, as did my dad and another. The youngest of the four survived, but they spread it to their spouses. My mom caught it and likely wouldn't have survived except for the valiant efforts of my sister to keep her alive. I do know that the spouse of one of the others also died. It was all so frustrating and enraging because the vaccine had been announced but not yet rolled out until it was too late for him. I only bring this up because Fox News propaganda and absolute devotion to Trump and the GQP killed my dad in a horrific and tortuous manner. I've seen first-hand what their toxicity produces.

  3. This is the most idiotic campaign I’ve ever seen, and that includes trunp 2016 and 2020

  4. This is bang on fucking accurate. I miss my father very much but I’m so glad he passed away in 2015 before he fully fell down the Fox News Trump rabbit hole. The old him before Obama would’ve loved a guy like Walz. These were the values my dad once espoused. That’s the dad I want to remember him as.

  5. This feels accurate. Fox News has melted my grandpa’s brain the last 20 years.

  6. Wait—again, hold the fucking phone. If you would have told me 1 month ago that in a few weeks, Biden will step down and Harris will take over, Dems will reclaim camo hats, bring back old white guys from the rust belt and souf (tbd), sell out arenas, airport hangars, and Wisconsin dairy farms that people drove 4+ hours for, and flip the polling to Kamala fucking Harris up and even getting republican pollsters and analysts saying she’s in the driver’s seat now to win, I would have slapped you silly then made you buy the first round. This really feels crazy, even more crazy than 2008.

  7. No. This is what you do. You make an agreement with the locale: I’ll pay the amount he owes you. In exchange, you assign your claim against his campaign to me. Then, Kamala gets to sue Trump and his campaign for being a deadbeat. Including conducting discovery.

  8. I bought one. Unfortunately, looks like I won't get it until early October. It'll be entertaining wearing it around the refinery I work at.

  9. As a white guy from rural Nebraska, who works in an office with white guys from rural Nebraska, the other white guys have had their brains broken that the VP with the same back ground as us, is not like them. They are absolutely fucking unmoored.

  10. Wife and I were talking about Walz last night after she watched his speech. She brought up the excellent point that Walz is the kind of politican that actually gets into office because he truly wants to help people. That's why he went to the military. That's why he became a teacher. That's why he became a coach. That's why he became the teacher sponsor for the Gay-Straight Alliance in his high school. That's why he went to Congress. All of that is such a foreign concept to MAGA. The idea of a person who thinks of others rather than just what they can gain is a concept they left behind a long time ago. That's why they can't get why people like him and Kamala. That's why they'll ultimately fail. MAGA, Trump, Vance have nothing to offer because they only care about what's in it for themselves.

  11. Real fucking talk? There should be laws against holding partisan rallies at police stations. It should be law that police stations are *required* to disengage with political posturing. If the pigs want to burn their money shoveling it into Donald Trump's gaping asshole, do it at their own house, not the publicly funded building.

  14. My dad is a veteran and never saw combat. He was an aircraft mechanic in the airforce, worked on all sorts of planes in vietnam. Fuck JD Vance if he thinks my dad wasn't a real vet because he didn't go to live combat. edit: suffice to say, my dad thinks JD Vance is a fucking idiot and is 100% aboard Team Kamala.

  19. Uh, I'm sure as shit not donating 16% of my net worth to a political campaign. You can pry that $811 out of my cold, dead hands.

  20. It's not a slam dunk. The wind is in our sails now, but we're going to have to do the work: - Registering people to vote - knocking on doors - getting people to the polls You heard coach. We got 90 days to get the work done.

  21. And I will say to Jewish voters just like I would say to the pro-Palestine set...it's not about you, you narcissistic fucks. It's about fucking beating them because if they win, you will suffer. Everything you care about will suffer.

  22. I'm so, so sorry. That is infuriating. My grandma died of covid during lockdown, and during the middle of her fucking funeral, someone mentioned to my trump-loving brother-in-law that the local highschool baseball team had all caught covid a few days prior at summer workouts, and he replied "good. Covid is nothing more than the flu. The sooner everybody gets it, the sooner everyone will realize it's nothing to worry about." He said this at my fucking grandma's funeral who had just died of covid. I was so fucking pissed I wanted to take a swing at him. He's the kind who makes his kids watch fox news. He's the kind who every conversation starts with him complaining about liberals. He's the kind who makes me skip thanksgiving. He's the kind who will say shit without any self-reflection on how stupid and small he looks like "Now, it might be ''racist'' to say but I don't care, I don't like basketball because it has too many black people." The sort who constantly complains about freeloading wellfare queens, then cries when his dad, who doesn't have insurance, needs open heart surgery nobody can afford and he's like "I can't believe there's no safety net for people who need help but can't afford it." He and my sister have also since become evangelical fuckwits, every conversation a chance for them to bring up prayer or some other bullshit nobody cares about. I fucking despise him and what he's done to my nieces and nephews. My nephew is fucking 9 and is a die hard trump supporter. And it all fucking began with my brother-in-law listening to rush Limbaugh at work on the radio -- he did NOT used to be like this. Actually, I take it back -- this all started when he went to TEXAS A&M because he didn't get into Texas. He grew up idolizing texas baseball and dreamed of playing at Texas. Once he went to aggy, the seeds of him becoming an alt-right fuckbitch were planted. I'm not joking. He often links his love of republican dipshittery, with "good bull rough stuff whoooops."
