I judge people by how dogs react to them 100% of the time. If a dog doesn't like your energy you're sus. That's good energy.32 points

We had to say goodbye to our yellow lab two weeks ago. This page is making me feel, well, a lot of things. But #1 is we need a dog lover in the White House instead someone who makes "dog" an insult. I mean, I have a long list of why Trump shouldn't be president, but that might be in the top ten of my reasons.24 points

The Dems came up with the “weird” idea after one of their interns, who also happened to be a college football fan, asked Coach Walz what he thought of the aggy yell leaders. ”They’re weird.” Walz replied. “If I was coaching with those guys flailing around on the sideline, I’d worry my team wasn’t focused because they were distracted by making fun of them.” In that moment, Walz had a revelation about the campaign. Trump was weird. Just as A&M had deployed male yell leaders to distract from their poor play on the field, Donald Trump had used weirdness to distract from his poor policies and multiple felony convictions. “It’s just a visceral feeling, you know? You see those guys pumping away and spinning around looking like weirdos and you’re like, what are we doing here? This is so weird. We just wanna play football. “It’s the same feeling I get when Donald Trump speaks. He’s talking nonsense pumping up his crowd with lies and dancing around the real issues. The only difference is he’s not dressed like a milkman. Trying to defend Donald Trump is like trying to defend those yell leaders. It’s weird and unnecessary and there’s no place for that kind of behavior in our country.”24 points

I remember from a while back after the Ukrainians initially got the HIMARs one of the operators in a video mentioned that they were hiding in old Soviet built hardened bunkers, and shortly thereafter there was article detailing this. Anyway, in the article, from what I remember from reading it, when the Soviet Union collapsed, a lot of the record keeping was done in each administrative district, and as a result a lot stuff never wound up going back to Russia. The Ukrainians, either with great foresight or just as a matter of policy, kept all this well organized, whereas the Russia's either didn't wind up with much in the way of records from the breakaway republics, or never really bothered with keeping them centrally in the first place (another possibility is that they have the records, it's just never been dealt with). This could explain why the Ukrainians know where all these bunkers are in Ukraine (and perhaps Kursk, given the proximity) and why the Russians don't. If you recall, when the Russians first invaded, many of the troops were found with road maps that dated back to the 60s, which doesn't exactly bode well for a lot of things, but record keeping of any type stands out. At any rate, this may well be a large part of their secret sauce when it comes to logistics. As I mentioned earlier, the Soviets were clearly very concerned with end world stuff and from what I understand, every town pretty much has these sort of hardened underground bunkers, many of the villages with more than one. The assumption that the Russians would know where all these sort of facilities are in Kursk may well be backwards. If that is in fact the case, it would potentially give the Ukrainians the ability to stage their logistics in forward areas easier than we are thinking.13 points

The 🇷🇺#Russians claimed yesterday that they hit and and destroyed a 🇺🇦#Ukrainian M270 MLRS in #Sumy oblast. Today it turned out that it was a 🇨🇿#Czech-made decoy from Inflatech. The torso of the decoy is made of synthetic silk, they radiate heat exactly in the places where they have a "motor", so they deceive even thermal cameras. It also contains metal fibers, so the decoys show the same radar image as the original. In addition, they are resistant to damage. Even a 20cm hole will not compromise their final shape and the model will not crack.12 points

To each their own, and not the thread for it, but for people who at least partially believe the Bible, it's pretty damn near impossible to reconcile that God is simultaneously an omnipotent and benevolent being AND a petty, jealous, meddling, vindicative, insecure fucking asshole with no chill. It's basically why I peaced out.12 points

This is absolutely fascinating. I highly recommend you watch it. The host is trying to stay on board with the propaganda, but his guests all keep saying what the government tells the people is not true and that they should prepare for a worst case scenario. They remind everyone it has been 900 days since the special military operation happened -and there seems to be no way to keep the Ukrainians out of Russia. Looks like Putin has to find a really large window this time.11 points

She didn’t mention price controls or anything like it, but whatever I guess. Seriously Harris should just coast on vibes. This isn’t a policy election, and there's no upside to talking about any policy that doesn’t have a clear, immediate and tangible impact on virtually the entire population, ie, taking weed off schedule one, Medicare for all, etc.11 points

Paul is right, 8-4 is generous. They have have 5-7 talent with a 10-2 schedule. Their entire defense is predicated on their DL doing everything or their LBs and secondary are going to be exposed. They are hyping the DL because their OL is complete trash. Their QB is made of glass and is one hit away from having to medically retire, but that is ok, because their wunderkind OC likes the backup better due to his ability to run with the ball, it makes sense because their OL is trash. Their #1 legitimate homerun threat is out for the season, though their HC refuses to talk about it due to reasons.11 points

Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) gave an update on the 4 5-stars Texas is pursuing. Some key points below, followed by the whole enchilada. While wading through it, I was reminded of this funny I read a while ago. Employee shows up late. Boss: "Late again?" Employee: "Sorry! Ran into Alex Haley in the lobby, and asked him how his family was doing." ************************************************************************** Jonah Williams Decision Aug 24th. Source believes Texas. Schlossnagle an advantage. Scruggs thinks Phillips likely to flip to LSU, making Williams even more important. Once he decides, unlikely to change his mind. And this made me lulz - " ... the source I spoke with this morning doesn't believe A&M being such a tradition (midnight yell and things of that sort) rich school is helping them much if, at all, ..." Michael Terry III August decision possible, but looking more likely to get pushed into the season (with in-season visits, etc.). Scruggs still leans Texas. Full staff push, with Wingo's pop helping. As with Williams, once Terry decides, he's likely to stick with the decision. Scruggs emphasizes that NIL is a very small factor in this recruitment. Jaime FFrench Decision August 30th. Sources in Austin and Florida like the Horns at this point. Unlike Williams and Terry, this recruitment is not likely to be done on the 30th. Like Wingo's, will continue until signing day. Michael Fasusi Decision August 21. Source believes Fasusi and family prefer OU. Scruggs likely to change CB to OU, if current trend continues. Early playing time at OU a key factor. Also thinks Brooks to Texas very likely, and may put in CB for Brooks to Texas. Thinks Brooks commitment date (August 23rd) was chosen based on Fasusi's likely decision to OU. FULL ARTICLE The latest on the quad of five-star Texas football targets expected to announce decisions in August The latest Horns247 is hearing on the quad of five-star Texas football targets expected to announce decisions in August.
