If I’m coaching Harris: “You’re asking ME why frustrated people vote for Donald Trump? Because he lies to them. Because he sells them magic beans. Seriously, that’s the answer. And while it’s my job to make a better argument than he does and help them understand how our policies can help, it’s YOUR job to help them separate fact from fiction. And your profession has utterly failed at that, because you’re too focused on horserace bullshit and asking candidates for office to put each other’s voters on the couch. So after all the whining about me taking my message straight to the voters and not going through your platform to speak to them, are you going to interview me or what? You do your job, David, and I’ll do mine.”34 points

Many years ago, I was on a cruise on a very nice little ship that had a very international passenger list. I was there, of course. And there were a bunch of Brits and Germans and a handful of French and Japanese folks. And among them was this Saudi couple. It was a small ship, so everyone socialized and interacted to some greater or lesser degree. And the Saudis were pretty sociable (which is pretty interesting, given that this was not that long after 9/11), particularly in the cigar lounge after dinner. I mean, that's where the Saudi gent would go--I have no idea what his wife did. Anyway, one night we're down in the cigar lounge. It's me, the Saudi fellow, a couple of Brits, and various other people. And the Saudi is kind of gently advocating the Saudi view on international relations, which, as I said, was kind of interesting given that it wasn't that long after 9/11. The Brit is having none of it. I later learned from another British couple that he was a "proper lord." I never figured out what would make one an improper lord. Some of the vagaries of the British social caste system escape me. In any event, the Saudi is getting more and more frustrated in the discussion, and at some point very loudly expressed his view that Saudi Arabia has one of the highest GDP/capita in the world and merits respect on the world stage. The British "proper lord," in his very smooth and measured Oxbridge accent replies, "you see, my dear boy, nobody is going to respect you because a hundred years ago, you were herding goats in the desert; and a hundred years from now, you'll be herding goats in the desert." That's when I--more than mildly intoxicated, I must confess--let out a laugh that was louder than was polite for the size of the room. The Saudi was pissed, stabbed out his cigar, and stormed out. Happily, he didn't blow up the ship after that.24 points

STEVE WILTFONG Myron Charles: Wouldn't be surprised if he ultimately flipped to the Longhorns. DJ Sanders: (Texas) They're not going to go away for him as well. Madden Faraimo: One of the finalists with ND; USC making a late charge. Texas knows it's a marathon, prepared to recruit him to the finish line. Clinging to that thoroughly debunked belief is a bright flashing neon sign that reads, "MORON." We're around parents of autistic kids a lot, having one of our own, and I've gotten to the point when someone (it's most often a mom, FWIW) brings up vaccines, I immediately say something akin to, "Well, fortunately only a complete idiot would believe something that stupid, so at least you and I don't have anything to worry about." That phrase has prevented me from having to listen to untold hours of nonsense. It did backfire once and I had to calm down an angry husband.20 points

Don't forget the other answer: "Because you and your colleagues in print and TV media have decided to completely whitewash 2017-2021 and cover Trump and MAGA like a sideshow and not a serious threat to democracy, freedom of religion, education, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, our allies abroad and ultimately caused people to forget how chaotic, awful and scary his presidency was for marginalized communities and anyone who actually values American ideals and democracy"19 points

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/special-counsel-re-indicts-trump-supreme-court-immunity-decision/ Special counsel reindicts Trump with narrower set of accusations after Supreme Court immunity decision Washington — Special counsel Jack Smith filed a superseding indictment against former President Donald Trump Tuesday in which he again accused Trump of resisting the peaceful transfer of power after the 2020 presidential election. Smith narrowed the allegations after a landmark Supreme Court ruling on presidential power earlier this year. The new charging document is based on a more refined set of allegedly criminal acts after the Supreme Court ruled Trump was immune from prosecution for some of the conduct included in Smith's original 2023 indictment. This is a developing story and will be updated.14 points

They have NEVER been this irrelevant and they have done it to themselves. NYT, CNN, etc. You spent the last 8 years covering yourself in Trump's slop for access, profit, books, interviews and podcasts. Most Democrats are DONE with you for that.14 points

Welp, Spider2yBanana goes back on the ignore list. The content is worthless enough, but the new avatar to go along with his name change, coupled with his basic inability to use a multi-quote function while he spams out every dumb thought that rockets through his miniscule brain, means that I'm getting fucking motion sickness from him posting 10x on every page, almost all of them sequential. Dude's clearly in the middle of a bender or going through some shit, or both.14 points

This is misleading. The F-16s that Ukraine received from Norway and Denmark had EW suites specific for those countries. The US doesn't operate the specific EW suite installed. The US was involved in "reprogramming" those suites to make them more effective for combat against Russia. But this is still an old aircraft with old equipment. This suite isn't going to be make an F-16 invisible. But it will help survivability to some extent in contested airspace. https://www.airandspaceforces.com/ukraine-f-16-electronic-warfare-us-air-force/13 points

So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.13 points

A Ukrainian channel usually well informed report about the Ukrainian invasion of Belgorod Russians drank Kool Aid 😁 "As promised, I will report on the breakthrough in Zhuravlevka (BNR) Our special forces broke into the territory of the Russian Federation and killed podors [russians] at observation positions. Of all the terrorists of the Russian Federation who held positions, only one bastard survived and was seriously wounded. It was decided to drag it through the forest to replenish the exchange fund. During the movement of one of our groups, a russian opened fire from mortars. Next, our soldiers fired with artillery and destroyed all the mortar positions. Then the following happened - our main forces began to pull up and the podor, apparently drunk on kool aid, decided that they were stormtroopers and could cut off the advance path and rushed to cut the flank. As a result, the podors were struck by an artillery and a SPG paladin, and the entire Russian assault ended before it had even begun. Of those who survived, there is no one left, it is about 30 bodies. The area of the forest was blown to pieces and no one came out. Now the movement of our troops continues, which are successfully entrenched in the territory of Podor. But Gladkov says to keep calm. We do so. 👊🇺🇦"12 points

In the Seim River, which then flows down into Ukraine Most likely, in the Tiotkino area, russian bastards dumped something in the Seim river, everything is dying - fish, leeches, fry, the water is black and smelly. This is an ecological disaster. It's just terrible...it has already reached the Konotop district, and then Desna. Everything that is not dead is trying to climb ashore. Well, there's at least part of the trade:12 points

New DT on the radar (Justin Wells) Malcolm Simpson, DL, Hitchcock (Texas) – 2025 Nebraska commit The 6-foot-3, 255-pound four-star and the No. 18 defensive lineman according to On3, is pledged to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. But the Longhorns have their eyes on a flip. Texas DT coach Kenny Baker has recently connected with Simpson, who previously was at Galveston Ball with UT commit Jonah Williams. Now, the 409 area prospect says he’s open to a trip to Austin. “I’m solid with Nebraska, but I love Texas,” Simpson told Inside Texas. “I would love to come up to a visit and watch a game, and check some things out.” Simpson holds offers from USC, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas, USC, and Baylor. But a Texas offer might change everything. “I honestly just spoke with them,” said Simpson. “(Baker) just told me keep doing what I’m doing and keep putting in work to get bigger. They all seem like real stand up guys and coaches.” His combination of size and athleticism is noticeable, as the multi-sport prospect notched 58 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one safety over the last two seasons. Simpson is the No. 265 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 24 defensive lineman and the No. 37 recruit in the Lone Star State.12 points

I think Kamala will make Trump do something even more unhinged than we have seen so far. I am thinking he would get so frustrated, he might slip and call her either something demeaning to a women or some racial epithet. And I were Kamala, I would be going for that jugular. Fuck Donald Trump.12 points
