As it pertains to DT and FSU: On the FSU 247 board, there is consensus building around the notion of an assistant coach firing squad. They've been complaining about the lack of recruiting skills on the staff since Norvell arrived and now some of the insiders are offering freely two things: 1) They don't have anything coming within sight of firing Norvell, handling the buyout of the incoming staff and handling the new salaries plus future NIL. Total expected cost of such would be between $80-$100M depending upon who they hired. Please note that we all should already know that Norvell's buyout alone after this season is roughly $70M and don't need it stated or erroneously offered as some correction to the numbers I just posted. Also, yes, they're openly talking about firing a dude who went 13-1 last season, en masse. 2) The money thinks it would be a lot easier to fire most of the assistants and force Norvell to upgrade from all of his apparent buddies, and amp up NIL to compete with ... Miami. Amidst all of that, they're hoping to hang onto Odell Haggins, who has been there 31 years and is believed to be one of their better recruiters. He is, however, rumored to be retiring in the near future. https://seminoles.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/odell-haggins/733 What does that all mean for Wynn and Charles? Not sure, but none of it is hurting the notion of Texas winding up with one or both if things continue to go sideways for FSU. In regard to things going sideways for FSU? They've had weak recruiting classes up until last year and a number of busts are materializing from those groups and this cycle's portal haul. Culture is allegedly nonexistent and the notion that JDU is some sort of leader in the locker room is laughable. Beyond that, from here on the schedule, FSU Goes: -bye, -Memphis, -Cal, @SMU, - Clemson, -bye They're staring down the barrel of 2-4/1-5/0-6. There's no one behind Ugalaileleielei, so they're kind of fucked there. They have the Glenn guy, not even from the mailroom, and he's like 18 and sucked mightily last season and hasn't progressed a ton according to those who would know. The media calls the guy a "QB whisperer" and yet, outside of Travis, the FSU era for Norvell is littered with busts and the idea that he could make chicken salad out of chicken shit with DJU is comical. The esteemed OL is also wrecked, gaining 21 whole rushing yards last night, and the DL, the vaunted greatest DL across all of the land, is allowing over 220 ypg. I said before the year that FSU was a lazy top 10 pick and would wind up something like 8-4 due to their schedule, DJU, and general talent deficiencies. Now I'm thinking that 8-4 looks really aspirational. Sarkisian's been a bit blessed at Texas in that the right things have gone UT's way at key moments in recruiting. It could be very fortuitous that Texas was on guys that FSU coveted at DT in this cycle.30 points

just plugged this request into Bing AI Chat and this is what it gave me. You Sent by you: can you write a letter written by a Texas A&M football fan pretending to be written by a Notre Dame fan who went to the game saturday in College Station saying how great aggie fans are and what a great time they had. Sent by Copilot: Sure, here’s a letter from a “Notre Dame fan” who attended the game at College Station: Dear Aggie Fans, I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience I had at the game this past Saturday in College Station. As a Notre Dame fan, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality and warmth of the Aggie community. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms. The tailgating scene was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced – the food, the camaraderie, and the spirit of the fans were truly something special. It was clear that Aggie fans are not just passionate about their team, but also about making visitors feel at home. During the game, the energy in Kyle Field was electric. The Aggie fans’ enthusiasm and support for their team were contagious, and I found myself cheering along with them. The traditions, the yells, and the unity of the 12th Man were awe-inspiring. It was a privilege to witness such a display of school spirit and dedication. Even after the game, the kindness of the Aggie fans continued. Whether it was a friendly conversation or a simple gesture of goodwill, every interaction left a positive impression. It’s not often that you leave an opposing team’s stadium feeling like you’ve made new friends, but that’s exactly how I felt. Thank you, Aggie fans, for showing me what true sportsmanship and hospitality look like. You have set a high standard for what it means to be a fan, and I will always remember my time in College Station with fondness. I look forward to the next time our paths cross, and I hope to return the favor when you visit us in South Bend. Gig 'em and Go Irish! Sincerely, [Your Name] Notre Dame Fan I hope this captures the spirit you were looking for! If you need any adjustments, feel free to let me know.26 points

Interesting and fun historical fact that Lobo would appreciate (RIP 😪) Only once in US history has a President, their VP and their VP's VP all been elected president - Washington, then his VP Adams, and then his VP Jefferson. Which was under the old system where the VPs were elected separately. Eisenhower, his VP Nixon and then his VP Ford all served as president, but we know Ford was not elected. We have a chance to do it again - Obama, his VP Biden, and his VP Harris.24 points

Currently about 3 hours into the 6 hour drive to Mackinac City where we will crash tonight, board the dog (no dogs allowed on the island) I am paying the catering company cash for a steep discount (10%) and it's basically the only way I did this party without losing money. Well, there's a little interesting fact I wasn't aware of when I planned this. There is not a single fucking Wells Fargo bank in the ENTIRE STATE OF MICHIGAN. So now I'm basically in and out of shitty rural internet trying to figure out a way to get 10k+ (exceeding IRS reporting etc) in physical cash. Called my good buddy who works at PNC. He told me they would take care of me. 2 hours later I have money in PNC (via wire) and cash ordered at the Ann Arbor branch for pickup Friday afternoon. Crisis averted. Thank god @BobbyB didnt have to mule cash for me across the country, which he so graciously offered to do. Now I just have to make it to PNC by 6PM Friday so we can all eat Saturday. By the way. We are fucking sold out on this party.21 points

Aggy on social media sharing a message his Domer friend sent him after the game. Like clockwork: I've been to several away games over the years, and can confidently say that the A&M fans were the absolute nicest we've ever ran into. Everywhere we went it was "Howdy, welcome to College Station". They are very proud of their history and story and offered up so much very interesting stories throughout the weekend. We had several drinks bought for us at every bar we went to, even a few from the bartenders! We even went to the Midnight Yell, and were treated with the same hospitality. We were going to be respectful and wear neutral colors, but were encouraged before hand to wear our green and gold. We were welcomed to numerous tailgates and they made us feel at home at each one of them. If you appreciate military history and ever get the chance to visit the campus, I highly recommend it.20 points

I posted this in the main thread, but it was right after the super-funny SNL Cologaurd shit-in-a-box skit, so figured MAYBE this should get its own thread. The family indeed needs help, as he was "in between life insurance policies." So, here's what I posted in the original thread: _______________________________________________________________________ Dear Friends of the Niederts, As you may have heard, Wolfgang passed away unexpectedly last Friday morning from an infection. Wolfgang was a loving husband and father and a loyal and generous friend to so many people in our community. He will be dearly missed. Julie and his two daughters, ages 9 and 5, are devastated and face many immediate and longer-term needs (unfortunately, Wolfgang was in between life insurance policies). Here are three practical ways you can love and support the Niederts during this time. Meals Contribute to a gift card for ready-made meals from a place like Central Market; please Venmo me, and I will get a gift card from the group. My Venmo is [BRISKET HERE -- I DON'T WANT TO PUT HER INFO ON BLAST, SO IF YOU WANT TO CONTRIBUTE THIS WAY, PM ME AND I'LL SHARE IT WITH YOU] Childcare [NOTE -- I'M LEAVING THIS ONE OUT -- BRISKET] College Fund To honor his lifelong dedication to education and philanthropy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a college fund for his beloved daughters. You can make a gift by going here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/honoring-wolfgangdonate-to-sophie-olivias-college-fund [NOTE: YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE FAMILY FOR COLLEGE FUNDING DIRECTLY, BYPASSING GOFUNDME AND THAT PLATFORM'S CUT OF ANY CONTRIBUTIONS - PM ME FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS OF HOW TO MAKE OUT A CHECK AND WHERE TO SEND IT. BUT IF YOU WANT TO CONTRIBUTE VIA GOFUNDME, PLEASE DO AND DON'T LET ME STOP YOU] Please pray for peace, strength and hope for Julie, Sophie, and Olivia. The family is planning a memorial service and will have more details soon. It will likely be a few weeks from now. Feel free to share this with anyone I may have missed. Thank you for supporting the Niederts. _______________________________ So, as noted above, if you want specific info on how to send funds for meals via Venmo or how to send money directly to the family, PM me and I'll get you info. Gimme time to get to your PMs, though. - Brisket18 points

It looks even worse from the back angle. The pulling TE doesn't even engage York - he's helping the other TE do a reach block on the DE. York is unaccounted for but takes himself out of it completely. Big props to Love for getting through the hole. It's a great run. At this point it's fine. He's a couple steps too far out but the hole is really small and he's in fine position to clog it at least. Giving up 2-3 yards on 2nd and 9 is fine. But he kinda just runs straight ahead into the DE's butt.15 points

I was a 60mm mortarman. My favorite round to fire was Willie Pete (white phosphorus for those who don't know) because of the cool mushroom clouds when they hit. Officially they were to be used to generate smoke and ignite flammable equipment, not on troops. But they did train us on the kill radius on troops in the open. (100 meters, if I remember correctly.)14 points
