Somebody mentioned up thread about how the timing of coaching changes and other teams shitting the bed has worked out for Sark in recruiting. FSU obviously being the latest example. But fucking A, how many other schools (I'm looking at you Bama, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia and even the fucking Aggies) benefitted from Texas sucking and botching coaching hires for a decade. This ain't luck, it's karma.38 points

You mean ask why we took the air out of the ball up 25 in the second half, on the road at Michigan? Does that really need an answer?25 points

Ok guys, let's all promise each other not to freak out in July next year. It's just Sark's recruiting process.22 points

Gerry Hamilton Javion Hilson Update OnTexasFootball has learned that Cocoa High 4-star++ EDGE and recent FSU de-commitment Javion Hilson is expected to visit Texas for the Mississippi State game September 28. Hilson, 6-4 and 225'ish, will not be the only defensive lineman on campus that weekend. Texas commitments Myron Charles (Port Charlotte, Fla./High) and Josiah Sharma (Folsom, Calif./High) are also expected to be in town for the Longhorns' first ever SEC game. And OTF will add this, we expect even more key visitors to be in Austin September 28.21 points

Guys, guys relax. I know that when I go into a coffee shop and don't treat the barista with the appropriate reverence, I should expect them to throw hot coffee in my face. When I leave my trash bins too far from the curb, and don't apologize with enough humility, I should expect the garbage man to physically assault me. It's no different with police and I'm not sure why this is hard to understand.20 points

Yes, and the game thread is consistently full of idiots.18 points

Lots of blame to go around here. Sadly, most of it will be given to the cop that forgot to turn off his body camera.17 points

Paraphrasing Josh Pate this AM Texas is huge and they're really fast. You don't realize how big they are until you're down on the sideline with them. If you took a person to the game that didn't know anything about football and told them that one of the storylines of the game was that the team in blue was going to bully the team in white they would've said I don't think that's gonna happen. It was never going to happen. Michigan was never going to bully Texas. You could simulate the game 10 times and find an outcome where Michigan was going to win. You will never get a result where Michigan is the physically superior team to Texas. You probably won't find a result where anybody is physically superior to them.17 points

Dude balled this past Saturday and last season. He'll be playing on Sundays and needs his own thread. Also... Cheers to all the Burnt Ends members! TE room looks legit for the foreseeable future. For those not participating, did y'all like what you saw this past Saturday? Excited about the future of the program? https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/burnt-ends-nil-program/ Be sure to show some love to TOF, too! https://www.texasonefund.org/16 points

The fact that people are crowing about what he should have done to avoid being assaulted by the cops and not what they should have done to not assault a citizen is fucking insane.16 points

Go fuck yourself you bootlicking piece of shit. Nothing about that was justified. That was an extreme violation of rights.15 points

Again, nothing Tyreek said or did merits the use of physical force even once, let alone twice. Attitude and disrespect are not justification to yank someone out of a car and arrest them. If that's the world you want to live in, your choice, but please stop responding to me because I want no part of it. Go advocate your terrible take with someone else.15 points
-
Could Tyreek have handled that better? Sure. But nothing justifies how quickly that one small-dick-energy prick was to get physical with Tyreek (TWICE!) and how he later rolled in hot on the two guys in the SUV, talking over his own partner with conflicting instructions. Peace officers absolutely should be held to a higher standard. This was well below that.15 points

I’ll admit that given Hill’s reputation I was expecting some justification for the officer’s actions. But nope. Just like cops have been doing for 50 years, their trick is to just yell “stop resisting” while they forcibly take you to the ground while you were attempting to comply with their directive. It is a taught technique and I was once on the receiving end of that bullshit. I would like to see this bullshit training exposed once and for all. By definition, it is IMPOSSIBLE to comply with an officers directive if they’ve already starting pulling you down to the ground. They purposely don’t give you any time at all to respond to the directive. Sue the fucks.15 points

I'm conflicted because Reek is a giant pile of human garbage, but also fuck cops and their power trips. I'm gonna have to grudgingly be on team Reek here.15 points

Hicks has kinda quietly had a very nice NFL career. $43 million earned (and counting) and a Super Bowl ring. One of our better players from a pretty dark era of Texas football.15 points

As you come into Cincinnati, keep an eye on the left for the giant Jesus statue that looks like a butter sculpture. The locals lovingly call it “Big Butter Jesus.” The connected church is called Church of the Solid Rock. Their last giant Jesus statue was NOT solid rock but rather styrofoam and burned down when it was struck by lightning. After an act of God destroyed the giant statue, I guess they decided to try again in butter form. After you try the original Skyline in Cincinnati, be sure to hit up the Kentucky Welcome Center on 71 for maps, coffee, and to deal with your diarrhea. In Louisville, the Steak ‘n Shake on Hurstborne is always a good show. Enjoy it, because you’ll be waiting for about an hour for sloppy burgers and of course shakes. I’d follow that up with the Great American Cookie for desert at the Mall of St. Matthews — an easy drive from Steak ‘n Shake. If you’re feeling adventurous, visit the University of Louisville and the surrounding neighborhoods. I can PM a map of where various friends and family were mugged or shot at. Enjoy your trip!15 points

Tyreek has no obligation to talk to him. Granted, I don’t know Florida law, but I’m guessing “disrespect” and “attitude” aren’t illegal or a reason to cuff someone.13 points
-
He doesn’t have to answer that question. It could’ve been avoided if the cops had written a ticket and sent him on his way.13 points

Frankly the guy probably has more insider info on highly ranked recruits across schools and conferences than any $9.95er.13 points

There were literally 0 advertisements posted in the stadium. No logos, no billboards, nothing. Also nothing recognizing random bowl game appearances, conference championships, all Americans, retired numbers, or national championships. And honestly, they could have turned up the volume of the music and videos on the screen. Michigan is a model for keeping the stadium untainted and keeping the focus on the game. I really appreciated it.13 points

I don’t like our players disrespecting opponents’ houses in that manner. It’s bush league behavior, IMO. The team’s performance on the field accomplished any statement of dominance very clearly.13 points

So Texas win not good because Michigan "bad", and although McNeese bad, aggy win somehow good?12 points
