  2. Pretty simple. George Soros pays Disney, who pays ESPN, who pays the SEC, who pays the Marxist refs all to show that sissy liberals can win at football. Explains a lot about Cal's dominance the past decade really.

  3. There are reports that Grad, S-300 and S-400 missiles, ballistic Iskander missiles and a small stash of North Korean missiles were stored at the ammunitions warehouse in Toropets, Tver region of Russia. NASA FIRMS shows fires on almost the whole territory of the 107th Russian arsenal. Video above for those without Twitter Big big booms

  4. It's not blue states versus red states. For the most part, it's urban versus rural. It's Austin/Houston/San Antonio/Dallas versus the large swaths of rural areas in most of the rest of Texas. It's Atlanta v. the Georgia mountains. It's Seattle versus central/eastern Washington. It's Portland/Eugene versus central/eastern Oregon. It's southern California/Bay area versus Northern California. The advantage the blue states have over Texas is that the blue urban areas outnumber the red rural areas, so Democrats control most of state government. That's the advantage of blue states, from a political perspective (setting aside weather and other factors). There are politically batshit crazy people all over blue states. You can't escape that, unless you want to live in a big city or suburb. Yes, I understand there are a lot of generalizations baked in this post. But if you're dreaming of relocating to a nice small town in Washington or Oregon, be prepared for your Republican/MAGA/white nationalist neighbors stopping by for a cup of milk.

  5. All y'all planning to move up here to the great PNW, be aware of some things: 1) Everything between Vancouver WA and Olympia is basically Alabama with scenery. By all means help to change that if you want - we can always use the votes especially as that House seat just barely flipped blue in 2022. 2) WA state tax is technically a "sales and use tax", so take the shit you buy in Oregon home with you to avoid paying it. Don't have it delivered or you'll get dinged. 3) Don't bother going to Oregon to buy groceries; groceries haven't been charged sales tax in WA for decades (prepared food, yes). Prescriptions are also exempt. Weed tax is 37% but worth it, if you partake. 4) Fairly sure if you physically work in OR you still have to pay state income tax to OR, even if you live in WA. 5) We don't do "Horns down". You're welcome here. 6) UO sucks just as OU does. It is known.

  7. I love how the narrative went from "They're fucked once they get into the SEC, the won't know how to handle not being the big bully who pushes everyone around" to "The sips own the refs and have all the power and have stacked the deck in their favor" in the span of...2 months. And the cherry is that those twats are the first ones to fucking crown us as the kings of the SEC with their bullshit, baseless conspiracies. And it's getting worse. It's straight up just "We suck, it's the sips fault" for everything. Fucking losers. And I loooooooooooooove them bascially just overlaying their politics on college football. But don't let anyone tell them who labor unions endorse politically. Fucking idiots.

  8. A few spicy ranked matchups as conference play starts, with a B1G start on Friday, a sleepy Saturday morning, and then full throttle in the afternoon and evening. Thursday game South Alabama @ Appalachian State - 7:30 / 6:30 ESPN Hey, it's football. App State has a nice stadium, so that's fun to look at. Friday games Stanford @ Syracuse - 7:30 / 6:30 ESPN A classic ACC matchup. Stanford is pretty bad. Kyle McCord has been tearing it up for Cuse. Should be a blowout for the Orange in a near-sellout crowd. #24 Illinois @ #22 Nebraska - 8 / 7 Fox Not a bad B1G pairing at all. FFR has Illinois playing solid, competent football, and Rhule looks like he's going to easily break the Huskers' bowl drought. Saturday games Florida @ Mississippi State - 12 / 11 ESPN If you thought Florida - A&M was a cripple fight, this is going to be even more pathetic. Let's see if Miss State looks capable of being more than a speedbump next week. NC State @ #21 Clemson - 12 / 11 ABC Look, it's slim pickings in this timeslot. State has historically given Clemson fits, but Grayson McCall is hurt and they have looked like pure shit in all three of their games this year. Charlotte @ Indiana - 12 / 11 BTN Curt Cignetti has Indiana looking immediately bowlish. Biff Poggi ran Oklahoma drills all summer and can barely field a team. This should be a bloodbath. I guess you could watch Kansas @ WVU (12/11 ESPN2) or Houston @ Cincinnati (12/11 FS1) for some Big XII bottomfeeder action. The early games are pretty bad across the board. - #11 USC @ #18 Michigan - 3:30 / 2:30 CBS It's a crime that this is a conference game and not a Rose Bowl matchup. We should learn a lot about both teams in this one - is USC for real? Does Michigan suck that bad? #12 Utah @ #14 Oklahoma State - 4 / 3 Fox Huge Big XII game. A battle of experienced, well-coached contenders with 7th-year QBs that are older than a solid subset of NFL starters. Arkansas @ Auburn - 3:30 / 2:30 ESPN Hugh Freeze is officially on Fraud Watch. Petrino seems to have resucitated the Pig offense. Could be an interesting one. Keep an eye on Miami (OH) @ #17 Notre Dame (3:30/2:30 NBC) for Marcus Freeman vs MAC hijinks and Georgia Tech @ Louisville (3:30/2:30 ESPN2) could matter for an ACC Championship slot. Also, Duke is playing @ MTSU for some reason over on ESPNU. And in an odd timeslot, it's the Battle for the Iron Skillet! TCU @ SMU - 5 / 4 CW Sonny Dykes and Rhett Lashlee will compete to see which coach can be the most unthreateningly competent, and which group of good-looking white kids gets first sniff of the coke down at daddy's country club. - Louisiana-Monroe @ #1(!!!) Texas - 8 / 7 ESPN+ / SECN+ Arch's first start will (sort of) be televised. Let's have some fun and not get injured. #6 Tennessee @ #15 Oklahoma - 7:30 / 6:30 ABC Josh Heupel returns to Norman, and his Vols have flown out of the blocks. Can OU keep up? Probably not. Cal @ Florida State - 7:30 / 6:30 ESPN2 Watching Cal go from just another Pac-12 school to the memelords of the ACC has been a hoot. Can they #decolonizecalahassee? Can DJU complete a forward pass? Baylor @ Colorado - 8 / 7 Fox One of these schools will lose, and I will enjoy that very much. Keep an eye on Bowling Green @ #25 Texas A&M (7:30 / 6:30 - ESPN+) and #8 Miami @ South Florida (7 / 6 ESPN) in case the upset warning starts flashing. #13 Kansas State @ BYU - 10:30 / 9:30 ESPN Your Big XII After Dark selection will be this potential trap game for the high-flying 'Cats after their big win over Arizona.

  9. One thing the Trump/maga movement has shown me is 40% of Americans (and probably 70% of white Americans) are absolutely mean, ignorant, selfish pieces of shit. I didn't think that before 2016. It's really depressing to think that but it's true.

  10. Harris and Walz are starting to do local-affiliate interviews, which is really smart. For one thing, you get generally softer questions from interviewers who are less experienced and maybe a bit intimidated by interviewing a VPOTUS. Second, there's an implied message in there that "this candidate cares enough about me and my community that she/he is taking time to talk to us on our local television station." Third, it's more targeted--you can talk about how important it is to you to do the local thing for the local project that is going to benefit a bunch of these local people. CNN and CNBC is a fucking waste of time. People who watch those stations are doing so for entertainment; they've already made up their minds whom they're voting for. The one national platform that I still think it's worthwhile to do an interview on is 60 Minutes. The ratings for that show is still bonkers. That post-football timeslot on Sunday evening is the closest thing we still have to a national television appointment.

  11. All, Thank you in advance for allowing me to ask for prayers for some of our best friends over the last 32 years. Bob and Sheila had a motorcycle accident last Thursday. We met them in Durango, Colorado after they had started their retirement trip the week before. They left their home in Grapevine and went out to the Grand Canyon and made their way through Utah national parks before our meeting. We had camping reservations for Thursday and Friday, then heading to Ouray as a base for the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival to see the Sunday show with JJ Grey and Joe Bonamassa. About 12 miles north of Mancos, they went off the road. It's likely that Bob had a cardiac event causing him to black out. They were airlifted from Cortez to Colorado Springs where they are under doctors' care there. They will be ok, but they face a long road to recovery. Thank you for remembering them when and if you are inclined to pray to whatever higher power you might pray to. JW

  12. This has been mentioned some but it's pretty fucking cool that Texas is getting to work on future game installs while OU and Georgia can go get fucked. OU's typical bullshit of playing no one and then showing up with new and well-trained shit against Texas is not a thing this season.

  14. On behalf of all Ukrainians: Thank you Yandex! “A friend sent me satellite photos of warehouses in Toropets in a personal message. With high detail. Many were lying in the open and easily distinguishable. Missiles in one place. Shells in another, etc. I ask him: "Where do you get all these photos in such high quality?" Do you know where? Yandex and Google maps. B*tch. I'm out of words on this issue. I just don't understand what's going on. Yandex maps, damn it!!!!”

  17. Well we're looking at rate cuts very seriously. Sometimes you want to cut and sometimes you don't. But with the money we'll be bringing in with the tariffs, and the energy, we won't be needing to cut much, that I can assure you. People say, sir, you're the best at cutting rates. China knows not to mess with us, because of the rate cuts. So yes we'll be looking very strongly at that. Thank you, that was a good question.

  18. Our country’s biggest problem is that most people think our issues are rooted around race, gender, or ideology, when it’s really about rich vs poor and urban vs rural. I am sensitive to issues of gender and race inequality but I truly believe a lot of the bandwidth those topics get is really just a ploy by rich people to get poor people to focus on something other than how much they’re getting fucked over by rich people. The rural vs urban thing is more logical. Rural people don’t engage in society in the same way urban people, so it’s reasonable that they’d have very different views on how government should be run. Liberals/Dems do a very poor job marketing their ideas to rural people; this is one area where I think Walz’s VP selection was great.

  19. Wednesday Morning Nuggets: Big boy recruiting The Texas Longhorns are deep sea fishing, make no mistake. Sitting well positioned for a strong close with a class hovering around No. 5 nationally, there is plenty of momentum at the back of Steve Sarkisian and staff. OnTexasFootball has the latest in this gird up your loins recruiting update. Walter Mathis Jr., DL, Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day - LSU commit The 6-1.5, 288 pound Mathis IS now scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Texas for the Mississippi State game. He will make the visit with his parents. Texas' Kenny Baker has engaged in multiple conversations with Mathis and family since the Peach State star committed to LSU September 6. Mathis has never been on campus at Texas, nor has his family members. This is a real opportunity for the Longhorns to blow away Mathis and family at the Longhorns first ever SEC game. OnTexasFootball ranks Mathis Jr. as a 4-star++ prospect, which would place him among the top 75 prospects in the country. Jahkeem Stewart, DL, New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr The 5-star defensive lineman is working to reclassify to the 2025 class. While USC and LSU are considered the top two in the recruitment, OnTexasFootball can report after talking to a source very close to the recruitment in New Orleans Tuesday night that Texas has engaged in multiple conversations with the 6-5.5, 270 pounder. That includes Steve Sarkisian as part of at least one FaceTime call. A visit to a game this season is possible, OTF can report. I stopped by Saint Augustine High a few months ago, and the main takeaway was that Stewart would be a very good academic/athletic fit at Texas. We want to reiterate that USC and LSU are the two heard about most, and Miami is also trying to make a very serious run. Cobey Sellers, CB, Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek - Texas A&M commit OnTexasFootball stopped by Shadow Creek High Tuesday to see 2026 4-star wide receiver commitment Chris Stewart. While there, OTF spoke briefly with Texas A&M corner commit Cobey Sellers. Sellers told OnTexasFootball that he speaks with Texas defensive backs coach Terry Joseph 2-3 times per week. With that said, he does not have a game visit scheduled to Texas at this point. Texas is expected to continue to chip away here with hopes of getting Sellers back on campus. Chace Sims, DL, Richmond (Texas) Randle - Texas A&M commit Sims remains scheduled to make an official visit to Texas September 29-30 for the Mississippi State game. Sims and family are in constant communication with Kenny Baker and multiple members of the staff. Saturday, Sims and family are scheduled to be back in College Station with the Aggies hoping to slow the flip momentum. One thing to know from the Texas side on this recruitment: Texas wants Sims, period. This is not just a visit scheduled to stay in the game.

  20. You see to the maga mindset (which is Slorch is at his core) you only support a candidate if you think they’re just the greatest person on earth who will solve all your problems and make the lives of others you don’t like miserable. It’s why they wear the hats and clothes and fly the flags and make it their entire personality. They can’t fathom just wanting someone who’s competent who knows how government works who won’t lie on an hourly basis about objective facts and will be fundamentally boring on a day to day basis once in office. He seriously can’t comprehend that most of us will disagree with some of her policies and approaches but that we support her because she’s by far the better candidate. You see he thinks we literally worship Kamala because that’s how they think it works. The excitement now is that we get to kick a piece of shit to the trash bin of history in a few weeks. In sum, he’s a fucking pea brain idiot attention horse.

  21. Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people.

  22. The second anyone leads with "contitutional originalist" you know they're completely fucking unserious, and/or unhinged people. Imagine constucting your self-image around "I'm a constitutional orginalist" in a manner that you feel not only comfortable, but eager to volunteer that to the people you encounter in every day life. It's such an overly-specific, esoteric label, that there's zero percent chance anyone just happens to land on it casually through their life or internet. That is someone who's had to pore over libertarian or super right-wring fringe websites to proudly proclaim that shit. Evangelical? ok. Conservative? Sure. Constitutional Originalist? Fucking lunatic. I post on Surly, so I won't say I'm enirely normal, but here's how I might characterize myself: I'm a present father, husband, and a UT fan.

  23. AZOV FIGHTERS WALK RIGHT UP TO THE RUSSIAN TRENCHES AND TAKE RUSSIAN SOLDIERS PRISONERS >> Azov fighters walked right up to the russian trenches, pretending to be russian intelligence officers. After abusing the russian soldiers for some time for how messy their trench was, and engaging in other small talk... ...the Azov soldiers fired a few shots into the air and informed the russians that they were now prisoners of Ukraine.

  25. It’s an amazing and brilliant inversion of the suicide bomber, who aims to make civilians scared because you never know who might be a terrorist that blows up in a crowd. Instead, you’re making Lebanese terrified that the person THEY KNOW is a terrorist might just blow up. Amazing. And you can defend yourself by not hanging out with terrorists.
